Afghanistan - what a mess by Biden and Trump...

Ah. It turns out that only military “working dogs” were abandoned as well as pets of fleeing Americans. Don’t know what the difference is between working dogs and a military dog. My guess is that working dogs don’t have a specific handler. None are strays.

They were all local dogs, is my point. And as I understand none could legally be brought into the US even if they wanted to bring them, as they wouldn't pass customs protocol/ requirements.

That's pathetic. We admit hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and refugees carrying God-knows what diseases including covid postives in excess of 15% by waiving all immigration protocols and we can't admit a handful of dogs because all of a sudden we have customs protocol requirements? Some of these dogs might be a little kid's pet who had to flee. I'm just sick of what our government has become.

Our govt does a lot of pathetic things. I've become numb to it.

There is a great John Oliver segment on countries strict custom rules involving pets from a few years ago. Involves actor Johnny Depp, his dog, and Australia.

Oliver is often repetitive and whiny. Sometimes he strikes gold.

This poor guy is screwed if he believes he can count on Joe to help him... 😣

Maybe if he'd been able to put a down payment on one of Hunters paintings he would have had half a chance... 😞 😡

Will Peter Doochie ask him, point blank? C'mon Pete, I've got faith in ya. This is your chance to move to the next level!!

We're holding $7B of Afghan assets in Federal Reserve accounts. That's enough to buy back all Americans left behind plus a few thousand others we legitimately should have gotten out. Maybe we can get a few of our helicopters back.

Only problem....Biden's not much at 'the art of the deal'. is he?
Hell, we left $80 Billion worth of military hardware. $7 Billion is a fraction of that.

The price of hostages has gone up under the Disaster in Chief.

Why did Biden keep checking his watch when he was supposed to be paying respect to our Country’s fallen? This display is not acceptable!

There it is.
It's always an epiphany when seemingly righteous indignation is revealed to be nothing more than a facade for less noble intentions.

He's been watching rube outrage porn.

So have the rest of the hillbillies apparently.

Theys be all excited and hoe downin all overs this heah place...
Wow, bet you feel stupid. Read the link above, Roguespierre.

The $80b number is the total amount we spent training, equipping and funding the Afghan military over a 20 year period (great outcome there) . But it's not $80b in equipment, sitting there today on the ground. Most of the money was spent on operating costs, not equipment.
Forbes says training and equipment. Nothing about operating costs.

How much do you think went to training those illiterates?

They've been fighting a civil war against the Taliban for 15+ years, that we've been funding with equipment and munitions. How much do you think that costs? And how much of it gets blown to shit over that period of time? The Afghan forces had some 60-70k killed over this time period.

There is plenty to critique with our policies over the last twenty years, no reasons needed to exaggerate.

Way to move the goal posts.

Argue with Forbes and CBS. Obviously you don't read the articles because it destroys your narrative.

All I said was there was nowhere near $80b of equipment "left behind". Common sense would tell you that when every one of your links points out there was $80b spent over the last 20 years, in total, training and equipping an Afghan Army.

Example.... What's a humvee that's been rolling around Afghanistan for 20 years worth (if any actually lasted that long) ? Certainly not enough to bother with the cost of transporting it out of the country.

OK, you don't like the $83 billion number.

How much is it? Add all the numbers up in the CBS report and you tell me what it is.
