The fear mongering continues:

and yet...

E3DIk4lWQAQbp0s

The reported number of COVID-19 hospitalizations, one of the primary metrics for tracking the severity of the coronavirus pandemic, was grossly inflated for children in California hospitals, two research papers published Wednesday concluded. The papers, both published in the journal Hospital Pediatrics, found that pediatric hospitalizations for COVID-19 were overcounted by at least 40 percent, carrying potential implications for nationwide figures.
Kids should be vaccinated. Period. But we don’t need fear porn.

There are two theories that are close but different. One is that a lab was studying COVID and it got out. Another was that COVID was created by the Chinese to unleash on the west. It is the second theory that is still doubtful. Could a researcher have accidentally contracted COVID? Sure.

I'm a long way from believing in the bioweapon theory, but I'm not going to call someone nuts if they do. It's not like China hasn't slaughtered millions of their own in the name of "progress".

The article explains the bioweapon problem. We do not know what treating this gene or that gene will do. To know, you have to test it on people. And more than a couple. We do not have good Intel of hundreds coming down with COVID over that year before it "escaped". It is not impossible but an accidental transmission requires far fewer assumptions.

Here's another guy that's magically found disturbing information (now that Trump is gone)... :

Ahh the good old days..., back when real scientists based their hypothesis on (drum roll)..., literally anything other than politics... 😣

There is a 3rd theory also. China (with some assistance from others) engineered it, infected a Monkey with it so that it can be explained as being transmitted from a Monkey.

And in other news, the Pentagon has said that aliens can't be ruled out as the explanation for UFOs.

Not just a nuclear arms race...........flat out threatening to nuke us.

Between cyber threats, bio warfare, and nukes......scary. The problem with the Presidency is, what normal person would want that job? Only egomaniacs and political hacks need apply.

I totally agree with the why , I'm not sure our current one really knows if he is President. Again I have said Trump was an asshole in a lot of ways but I don't see where he bettered his financial status the way several of the last Dem Presidents have. I will take some of the bad points, which were really mostly he sent bad tweets and wasn't nice to everyone? with someone that at least had some balls to do something vs what we have right now.

The notion that it leaked from a lab was never "OFF LIMITS".

The notion that it must have been a genetically engineered bioweapon was off limits, based on data, and Trumptards continued to confuse "lab leak" with "bioweapon" as being synonymous descriptions. They are not, and never have been.

Some human likely accidentally breathed in dust containing the virus in animal dung, be it bat dung or another animal that carried the virus, after having been infected by a bat.

Where did this likely occur? A cave, maybe. A wet market, maybe. A lab intern not wearing a mask while changing the bedding/ cage paper in a research facility housing animals? Maybe. The third scenario is by far the most common lab leak scenario. Poor animal handling practices. It happens in the USA, in China, everywhere. People take shortcuts. People mess up. The people hired to change the cage paper are not necessarily well-trained. It is a menial job.

A less likely lab leak scenario is that the virus was cultured in the lab and was then spilled, somehow, and accidentally breathed in, making the lab workers sick. This is less likely, since viral cultures (hard to do, in the first place) would be done under biocontainment level 3 protocols by people much more highly trained than those people changing animal cage bedding in the vivarium (the research animal care facility).

The still less likely lab leak scenario involves directed manipulation and intentional release. There isn't really any evidence for this, it makes no sense to unleash the bioweapon on the people in your own building or town, and it makes no sense to have chosen in the first place this type of virus as your bioweapon.

You actually have nerve to use the term ''tards'' and make a post like this? I love all the woke Dems that have no problem screaming racism about everything but using tards seems perfectly acceptable to you?

Holy ****.... even mentioning a lab leak for the last 15+ months made you labeled as a xenophobic reptilian.... on par with Steve Bannon.

The part of the article which sums up where we are now goes as follows....

To this day, we don’t know how or why this novel coronavirus suddenly appeared in the human population. Answering that question is more than an academic pursuit: Without knowing where it came from, we can’t be sure we’re taking the right steps to prevent a recurrence.

I expect politicians to lie about everything but I've always hoped that scientists would be scientists and not lie to us. There doesn't seem to be anyone to trust any more. I used to really respect the CDC and thought they were a great organization with great leaders and felt the same way about the NIH but now I don't trust them any more than the politicians.
Scientists like money too!

Something? Who knows...but if true it is troubling that we have to hide info because of Chinese spies in the FBI and other intelligence services.

Yes

Double Yes.
The 'lab leak' is a cover story. This was an intentional biowarfare attack by the CCP military. They sacrificed a few of their own, but a few hundred in a 1.5 billion population is cheap. This regime has killed 60 million people through the years and currently has a million Muslims in custody, providing organs for transplant and making shoes for LeBron James.
They have earned in-kind payback.

Gee I wonder why, Liberals are all fired up about Jan 6 and , it was stupid to have even happened but you are talking about a pimple on an elephant's ass in comparison to apparently why worry about what China had to do with this. We know it came from China and it really isn't hard to connect the dots . I told people it came from a lab a year ago.

My take is that it was a lab leak (of a not yet perfected bioweapon) that was Intentionally allowed to spread in a "strategic" fashion...

They (the CCP) knew they had a problem and coldly decided to allow it to work for them as an already in situ bioweapon...

They allowed that festival to take place in Wuhan after the virus was already loose and knowingly allowed infected people to get on planes and travel all over the world...

The leadership of the Communist Chinese Party are enemies of rest of the World as a whole and should be treated as such...

The FBI (at the upper management levels) has become a politicized joke...; much like the CDC has... Their leadership is clearly much more interested (at both agencies) in how they can please the National Democratic Committee leadership than they are actually doing the job their respective charters call for... Neither outfit is currently worthy of anyone's trust, in my opinion...

The only thing I think that was intentional on the Chinese side after the virus got out was the cover up. That being said, they learned a whole lot over the past year from COVID. Usually when one thinks of bioweapons they think of diseases with smallpox like death rates being unleashed on an opponent. China learned that the comparatively mild (COVID had a lower death rate than SARS IIRC) virus with a decently high infection rate would shut down most of the developed world. And the disease would have plausible deniability on their end that a large portion of the world, including western scientists, would be more than happy to accept.

If I were war gaming a takeover of say, Taiwan, from the Chinese side, my opening moves would be the release of a disease similar to COVID with a slightly higher death rate across all age demographics. Overload the hospitals like what happened in Italy. Follow that up with cyber attacks to U.S. infrastructure when the hospitals are overloaded and people are forced to shut down. Then invade.

China has 1 billion people and there is a decent percentage of them that they feel are expendable. I think they would gladly accept 2% or 3% population reduction in trade for Taiwan.

And again, I do not think anything was planned on their side w.r.t. COVID, but sometimes you can learn quite a bit from mistakes. COVID was the most successful mistake "attack" on the U.S. and Europe since WW2.

Oh, one other thing, China has an out on the blame game as well if things get too hot for them. It would involve hanging the bat lady out to dry but they could say that the U.S. funding that went to bat lady was directly tied to the accidental outbreak and that she had expanded her research into an area that the CCP would not have allowed and she could not have done but for the NIH funding.

Fauci and crew gave them an easy out if the pressure grows to high and that easy out is going to be something a bunch of the world will be more than happy to believe.

Yeah think about doing something like that. They could even secretly develop a vaccine for it and force people to get vaccinated telling them the vaccine was for something common. Like you, I don't think they released it intentionally but they did learn a lot but I guess we did too as far as developing a vaccine.

It could be a winning political issue with that kind of support. Then again healthcare reform (even Medicare for all!) was polling at like 60%. Certain gun control measures poll above 80%. Never happens. Polls are the fake sugar of the political world.

I'm sure people want to do something about China. But what that something means is likely 100 different things all with varying degrees of bite to them. Which means we'll never agree on what to do, only that something should be done.

Rinse. Repeat. Meanwhile, those with very specific (not varied) interests in maintaining the status quo will make sure that happens. God, I sound like IGW.
Which 'gun control' measures poll above 80%?

That’s the unfortunate part. The Chinese people did nothing wrong but Asians everywhere pay bc we have so many morons. But that’s immaterial to the press - whose attention was more focused on woke gotcha politics than either doing it’s job and/or getting to the bottom of how China destroyed the world. I think back to those briefings and cnn reporters and the rest were absolutely disgusting. Total bottom-feeders with their preoccupation with woke bullshit. Totally bereft of the ability to think for themselves - just consumed with getting trump. Scum. If trump had half a brain he would have stopped the briefings after the first one, stuck fauci in a cube, and released periodic written statements.
You wrote, "If trump had half a brain he would have ...."

Wasn't that the ultimate problem in 2020?

It was easier to boycott the Olympics when it was screwing Russia/USSR instead of Japan.

You'll still need to do your own additional research, too.
