Hunter Biden on trial

Had a couple during the game. Have to say that DANC strikes me as the most disingenuous poster on the WC. He’s smart enough to know when he’s lying.
This from the guy who defends the Biden Crime Family and then was duped when Biden said he'd never pardon Hunter.

Except you're not smart enough to realize what a hypocrite you are.

I’ve never defended Biden. You’re too stupid and/or dishonest to understand pointing out unsupported accusations isn’t a defense, it’s just honesty.

I also said that I fully expected that President Biden would pardon his son after the election. I’m not a dupe, and you’re a liar.

Your alternative scenario destroys our institutions faster, would erode public trust even more, and leads us to a higher probability of an eventual civil war or dissolution.

No thanks.

Then what do you do? How do you counteract and purposefully fight back? The faith in traditional norms will right itself when challenged hasn't proven to warrant the faith and concern that is given to it.

Again parties are much more judged by the results they deliver than by trying to be validated by perceptions of a moral belief or value.

Decades ago that held much more weight but in these times it doesn't buy hardly anything especially with how both echo chambers are operating.

We're more in a cola war than an actual war. Which is why I'd ask the Dems to consider corporate style battles vs believing that the traditional norms will hinder any dirty political plays....cuz it hasn't and all we've tried to do is call out the behavior which hasn't impacted anything.

So fight and stop being shocked and appalled when traditional norms are strategically overruled.

So back to this pardon, I like that Biden basically said 'Yeah, I originally trusted the process but after seeing the loud, long established radical maga extremists that he's aggressively bringing in, I've changed my mind. If you're upset about it, Sorry, I don't give a f#$k, suck my d#$k'.

That's the kind of fight I want to see. Oh no, maybe Hannity will say something bad about Biden now....who gives a f#$k, I don't.

That's also why after the election I wanted Maga to control everything. If the Dems won the house than they've got someone to blame for any crisis that comes up and needs to be managed.

America chose, so let's see the results that come from it.

Pssshhhtt. He's fine. He's ashamed to show his face around here, since he was so wrong on the election.

I don't think we'd all get along that well. I think we might be more polite in person, but walk away thinking 'that guy's an asshole'
Naaaa...

The bot farm was shut down when the Harris campaign machine burned through $1B+ and stopped paying the bills.

Bless your heart for believing Joe had any intention of doing anything other than pardoning Hunter, more likely he just said what he needed to support the “party of law & order” narrative being pushed to campaign against Trump at the time, & it worked for the gullible. The overwhelming majority of even the most virtuous parents would give their children a get out of jail card, much less someone like Joe.

The implication that the Dems are losing because they’re driven by morality & ethics or are opposed to dirty political play is debatable. Most would say it’s because of bad policy & misaligned priorities…

Harris’ campaign was a brief window into a what a disaster she would have been. Picked walz. Weird as hell. Pissed away over a billion dollars.

Here's what Biden said though:

No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son — and that is wrong,” President Biden Biden said in a statement.

“There has been an effort to break Hunter — who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution,” the president added. “In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me — and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.”

So you're saying Biden lied in saying why he was pardoning Hunter, then? I agree. Wasn't Hunter charged during Biden's own administration?

With great power comes great responsibility (thanks Stan Lee). Biden's use of the pardon power w/r/t his son was an abdication of that responsibility.

Correct, he’s not lying.
So he’s stupid. With you, there is no doubt. You’re actually stupid enough to believe the nonsense you post. I thought DANC was smart enough to know the nonsense he posts is false, which would make him a liar. Now I’m not so sure, it could be that he’s stupid like you rather than a serial liar. Thanks, brother.

They aren’t mutually exclusive right? Why can’t I be both stupid and a liar? Hope all is well with you and your family brother.

There’s that trademark civility you chastise MAGA for lacking…

Biggest hypocrite on the board.

I'm uncivil to those that have earned it. I return incivility with incivility with those I've lost all patience for. DANC earned it long ago.

So you're admitting you'd have lied.

Why should anyone believe anything you say, if that's true?
No, honestly I wouldn't have committed to not pardoning him. And given Trump's appointees, I would 100% pardon him and twice on Sunday. There was little doubt the Trump administration would go after Hunter Biden. I believe someone else said it either earlier in this thread or in another thread - any parent who had the power to do what Biden did would do it or never forgive themselves for the rest of their lives.

I think he stepped in it when he committed to not pardoning Hunter, but I don't believe he would have pardoned him if Kamala Harris would have won.

He worked the polls in Bloomington. Maybe you ran across him.

I was thinking the other day, it's odd he just dropped off the board suddenly. The guy didn't have a career, other than running drugs for a Vegas mobster. He seems like the type who has drifted through life without any real accomplishments - perfect for being paid to be a Democrat shill. I think you're right - the spigot was shut off to the bot farm.

Well hell no, because Kamala would have pardoned the whole lot of them.

Do you think the DoJ is politically motivated, like Trump has always claimed? Because Biden sure does.

Given where we are post-election, I think your take is the best course of action. Now that Trump/MAGA owns things across the board, let's see what happens.

I think Biden thought the DOJ was about to become VERY politically motivated. I think that's the whole point of him pardoning Hunter. Given who Trump has nominated in key roles, Biden had reason to be concerned about it.

I have no idea if Kamala Harris would have pardoned Hunter or anyone else for that matter. I guess we'll never know.

Uh, that's not what he said. He said Hunter's prosecution was politically driven by HIS DoJ.

Do you not understand what that means?

Are you suggesting that a pardon is essentially an admission of some sort of guilt? I don't doubt that Trump wants his DOJ to sharpen the knives to go after everyone pictured in that tweet. What actual crimes did all of them commit? I'm especially interested in what Adam Schiff and Liz Cheaney did that I may have missed.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. Are you suggesting Biden ordered his DOJ to target his son? I know you mentioned Trump earlier - do you think a Hunter Biden conviction was part of what he was talking about when he was complaining about a weaponized DOJ?

Biden complaining about the DOJ going after his own son his watch for political reasons makes no sense.

Oh my God, you're dense. Biden is making excuses for pardoning his son, so he claims Hunter is being prosecuted because of politics. Well, whose DoJ is it?

You're right - it makes no sense. But yet, you blame a future Trump DoJ?

Sorry, I can't dumb it down any further for you. Have someone else explain it to you.

These are the same people that said Trump taking the 5th would be an automatic admission of guilt. Oh the irony.

No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son — and that is wrong,” President Biden Biden said in a statement.

So frustrating to have to explain something that Biden himself said.
