A Biden presidency could spell another depression

Won't last? Damaged reputation takes a long time to repair.

Don't kid yourself, the rest of the world didn't like us much before...they just needed our money and protection. That will return faster than you might think. They still won't like us though.

That's bullshit Courtsense. I have never ever met anyone who mentioned that as the reason for liking the US. NEVER.
Its a Trump narrative in positioning the US as a victim.

They don't like Trump but as an idea they like the country. Do you know what the Chinese translation of the United States means? The Beautiful Country. The Chinese have always had very positive views of the US. However, that's changed somewhat recently.

People buy into the ideals of America. Its some mystical land that offers opportunities and equality.

Obviously the past several years has been detrimental to that fantasy. And the brutal repression on the protestors and the vivid imagery of George Floyd being killed has almost destroyed that fantasy. And less special of a place -- almost ordinary now.

The need for a 3rd party has never been more apparent.
Common sense has left the building

Both parties have entrenched themselves so deeply in their own agendas that a third party is the only answer. Not a special interest third party, not a socialist third party, not a LiberAterian third party...but a party that works for the country. Logical, moderate, fiscally sound agendas without the baggage and hate we currently have.

You bet..wink wink

George floyd may have been a tipping point but the issues are nothing new and hardly a secret. 400 years of it my friend.

Fat, entitled Americans are hardly revered among even our allies.

The problem now is that the moral higher ground is gone. A bit of humility and modesty may go a long way to rebuilding it, going forward.

I don't even buy the moral high ground argument, but to the extent it has been a thing over the past 30 years, yes it is repairable as long as money guns and lawyers are attached

I'll take an immediate pass on voting for Joe...If Trump's good at anything, it's his ability to produce a stout economy.

You social justice warriors, liberals, and left wing people better start focusing on what a Biden presidency would do to your 401k!!

MAGA!!! Trump 2020!!! Avoid another Great Depression, Vote Don Trump in the fall!!!

Pick up a macroeconomic text and give it a read. Its not rocket science.

Agree with you. In all of my travels, I’m always treated very nicely and people always ask tons of questions about the US, always talking about it like it’s a magical perfect place. In the last 5 years, literally the first thing out of anyone’s mouth when they hear I’m an American is Trump. Talked a little bit about Obama when he was president, but before that, politics was never mentioned. It’s changed vastly in the last 5 years. Hopefully that will go away by the time we can travel internationally again.

Actually, you’re fairly wrong. They are discerning and distinguish between the CIA and the beacon on the hill, among other drastic variations in our qualities. Deep down and ultimately, most sentient foreigners respect the good in America and Americans. They pine for a country that can elect a monstrosity called Trump and then get rid of him a mere four years later.

They know the US is the last bastion of freedom on earth and that’s especially important today with nationalism sweeping across the world like the plague.

Your opinion represents an arrogance that foreigners are too stupid to know better.

Each passing day, the title of the thread and the OP become more and more absurd. Things will dramatically improve once Trump is gone. Regardless of his replacement. He is the cancer.

Happen to think outside of the stock market and it's investors the country is already in a depression thanks to the pandemic.

In regard to dealing with the pandemic, has Trump been a positive or a negative?

In my opinion, Trump has made a recovery from the pandemic and this depression more difficult. Furthermore, the negativity of the pandemic depression will haunt anyone in the Oval Office come 2021.

Not much since February. Otherwise four weeks a year.

Why?

You act as though there is anti- American bias overseas. Not been my experience whatsoever in South America and Europe. I've never been to Asia so can't comment there.

We could literally replace him with this Bernie.... and be miles better off.
