Trump targets First Amendment, free press

WHCA board member from Fox News:

Another Fox News looker!

The board has done a very good job of managing the press pool. All of this is entirely because President Trump was triggered by AP using "Gulf of Mexico'' instead of "Gulf of America." Here's the deal, the rest of the world uses "Gulf of Mexico" and has for 400 years. The President's EO on this won't change that. The AP, like Reuters, is a wire service and provides content to the rest of the world's media as well as the US media. What logical reason would compel them to use the "Gulf of America" when the entire world, and the majority of its media clients, knows it as "Gulf of Mexico?"

Also, for the people on Facebook (I've seen dozens of misinformed posts on this topic) that think that the President renaming it "Gulf of America" now means it is US waters and gives us drilling rights for the entire gulf - NO IT DOESN'T. Territorial waters still extend to 12 nautical miles and the Economic Exclusive Zone which extends farther do not change. Names do not change international maritime law.

Both Newsmax and Fox News are opposing this move. They know that under this precedent they could well be barred from the WH in a future Dem admin
Yeah, but look on the brightside. Maybe with all the unused press credentials lying around, maybe RT media and catturd will be brought in.

Glad to see some of the lawyers on the board are voicing their approval of the whittling away of the Bill of Rights.

“For the want of a nail the shoe was lost,
For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For the want of a horse the rider was lost,
For the want of a rider the battle was lost,
For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”

Did you really think it was non-partisan?
Of course not. See my first post in this thread.

Long time coming. I’m unsure who the independent body is that chose the pool previously but I’m always skeptical of independent commissions. I’d rather know the bias and take it into account.

Continuing to ignore independent media is also stupid as was being done. The Daily Wire has listener and viewership across all platforms that rivals many legacy media publications. Why shouldn’t they be included?

Oh cry me a river. This has zero affect on the B.O.R no matter how much the whiny self absorbed press likes to think it does. Don’t forget these sniveling snobs are the people who committed the biggest media fraud in history.

Not a free speech matter because Twitter is private company. However it looks like Elon is censoring Bill Burr. All because he hurt Elon's poor feeling. What a pussy and hypocrite. Burr for President.

Do you think Trump has ever told a lie or just think everything he says is gospel?

This once again proves that Trump could literally rape an infant corpse and his defenders will never waver.

The media….good grief.

There is video available of Navarro saying this isn’t true and they still put it out there
