If you want to give money, give money to Hoosiers for Good

I think it will do the reverse. NBA viewership is down and so will college when it becomes free agency power teams
I completely disagree. CBB will be more exciting with better players on more teams, not just the "Bluebloods." Kentucky landed the best players for a decade and managed to win one national title.
A lot of teams were already doing it as most of us know. The difference now is it's above board, open to all and will give players a reason to look at a school they otherwise might not have.
I'm not saying it's going to be perfect and without issues, but it's here and it's not going back.

the Hystetics have done so much to engage fans and raise money for the new NIL order. The real creeps are the people who do nothing more than pontificate.
Besides doing everything possible to draw attention to themselves, exactly what has been done to "engage fans" and "raise money for the new NIL order?" They do not direct people to Indiana's 'official' NIL group Hoosiers For Good. Instead they direct people to give to them, so they can do what they want to gain even more attention.
One thing and one thing only will truly engage Indiana fans and its not two guys in California. Its Winning!

I finally dropped it not long ago after losing interest in the product. Had been with Mike through thick and thin (and multiple transitions) since almost day one. I used to stop by their tailgates on occasion. I may go back at some point, but our Mod(s) here have cleaned the place up enough that it may get back to a quality product and some of the quality old school guys might come back.
Always open to suggestions. Thx for being here.

never said he hasn't made a lot of money, or will end up on the streets, I said he is a bust compared to the expectations placed on him coming out of high school BASKETBALL wise, not financially and not as a human being.
The only people with unreal expectations were IU fans. The casual fan in Texas didn’t even know who he was. This wasn’t a Lebron or Kobe situation out of HS.

Blind IU fans and journalists overhyped the kid as the next Michael Jordan. Then took it personal and got ugly when the kid didn’t live up to their asinine expectations. That’s not a bust. That’s not Romeo’s fault. And it’s a terrible look for future recruits when our fanbase is so dumb and quite honestly rude to one of our best players in program history.

I don’t understand how you can’t see how this is ruining college athletics.
The NCAA ruined college athletics over the last decade by staying stuck in the previous decades. Everything changes, life changes, but the NCAA and its $2.9 Million a year leader was convinced they were different from the rest of the world and could always do as they pleased. Now Emmert is fired and the NCAA is just trying to maintain its relevance in the collegiate athletics landscape.

Another way to look at it Fepaugh I bet Boston when they drafted Romeo in the lottery thought if we can get about 2 to 3 points a game out of him for 3 and half years, we will have pulled off one of the great steals in the NBAs draft history. They felt so guilty about what they done they thought it would only be fair to give him away to help the league maintain competitive balance.
So beyond dumb and petty. He’s a top 300 basketball player on this planet. And if you made a list of the top 50 busts of the last 20 years he wouldn’t even be honorable mention. Look at guys like Anthony Bennett, Odon, Morrison, Thabeet, Milicic, etc. Back end of the lottery is not full of can’t miss all stars. Just accept that you were foolish for your expectations and try to learn more about basketball going forward.

Guarantee you will see a change to the NIL. They can’t continue as is.

I would add Danny Ainge to your list, might be the reason he is unemployed right now

yeah, your right most back end lottery players average 2 points a game over 3 years

I’m curious what will happen at places like Gonzaga, Villanova, texas tech. Places that have won with great coaching and drawing some top talent because of the coach. Now with NIl money, these programs may see the coaches leave or retire…Jay Wright.
Not sure it can be that simple again. When we beat the fab 5 is was so sweet. Imho, they were the bad guys. The cheaters. And we were doing things the right way. They were easy to hate. They were a villain.

what are we left with? Any team that has players ranking in huge money is now a villain. The bigger the NIL deal, the bigger the villain that they are, and the easier it is to root against them.

For basketball fans you might be right. For those who are more fans of the school than the sport, I think it will be harder to draw our interest when the players are simply hired pros with no other bond to the school.

I agree it's not going back, at least not before it burns to ashes.

This will be comedy gold. I guess they want round two of an ass kicking. Hooray for the lawyers.

Why are you so happy about this? This isn’t a positive to the game
Because it’s silly to just ignore what’s actually been going on. The NCAA was to afraid to punish the people actually paying and cheating. This at least evens the market. Levels the field.

Not really it creates an even bigger gap. It honeslty hurts football the most. Transfer portal is what needs pulled back in more than anything. Bidding wars for kids right now isn’t how the NIL was designed which is why the lawsuit comjng back into play.

You assume no other programs have money. Look at Oklahoma state. Lots of booster money.

They did a fanfest last year... that would be engaging the fans with the team. They're hinting on doing another. They said they paid every player on the team, even walk on.

Why people are bashing these guys when they are trying to get Indiana on even footing with other teams is beyond me. Is reeks of jealousy.

They did a look at me fest. Everything is look at me. Plus they literally dress as clowns. They are embarrassing. They act very childish and are out in the open about it on a huge platform. He ran for trustee and got smashed, there is a reason. Real money donors dont take him serious. They need HFG and adults running it to give real money. People give him 20 bucks they give HFG 20k
