I'll certainly hope for his success. Zelenskyy has already indicated a willingness to cede territory (and, let's face it, it's not realistic to think there's a way out of this without that). But the hard part will be getting Putin to accept Ukraine getting some kind of permanent security assurances that are more than just Putin making a pinky promise.

You may think it wouldn’t have happened. I honestly have no idea - but I tend to think it would’ve happened either way. Putin had his sights set on those parts of Ukraine and he was going to get them, one day or another.
But this isn’t my point. My point is that he feels it necessary to put crap like that in his speeches and statements. It’s obnoxious. And I say that as somebody who has voted for him…twice.
Absolutely. Never would’ve. Trump had a strong working relationship with Putin and is a geopolitical realist.
He would have put the Kibosh on Ukraine entry into NATO and 100’s of thousands of lives would’ve been spared.
Taking emotions out of it and looking at facts . Putin took Crimea when Biden was the V.P. Nothing when Trump was the President. And Ukraine when Biden became President. I think the obvious conclusion is the chances of the war happening with Trump as President were much much less than Biden. It’s silly to conclude anything else.

We were giving Ukraine virtually no support at invasion time. Russia's decapitation strike could easily have worked. If the US was guiding them to war, Ukraine would have been far better prepared.
