The New Hampshire US Senate seat held by Democrat Maggie Hassan was likely to flip red for a moderate Republican candidate like Chuck Morse, the state senate president. Then Don Bolduc, an ardent Trump supporter who has repeated Trump's Big Lie about a stolen election, won yesterday's primary.

In some key states (Pennsylvania, for example), election deniers have essentially taken over the GOP. If these election denier candidates lose, hopefully the party will finally dump Trump. If many of them win, we are seriously screwed.

The question I have is, how much are the Dems helping these deniers in the primaries, gambling that it will be easier to beat them in the midterms? Propping up these kooks so that theyre easier to beat is dangerous strategy, and it makes me nervous.

Moderate R Peter Meijer, one of the few Rs who voted to impeach Trump, lost to election denying Gibbs. According to Meijer, the Dems helped fund his opponent’s campaign.

I agree. That strategy is questionable for a lot of reasons, and it's playing with fire.

That said, irrespective of what has propelled the election deniers to the general election, they've got to be defeated in November.

Don't worry Kemp will win in GA.

What exactly is the problem with questioning the 2020 election?

Many politicians take positions that seem ignorant and destructive to those who disagree and those politicians are routinely elected.

If a Trump backed candidate wins, it’s because the majority voted for them. Unlike your side .

I mean Bowlmania can hope delusionally that a lot of maga candidates will lose. But when his boy has a 39% approval and inflation is where it is at its not going to happen. A few may lose but a lot of them will win. The repubs will easily take the house and I predict get 52 seats in the senate. The party is charge simply does not pick up seats or hold the congress in an environment like this with such and unpopular president. Inflation is the number one issue and Joe gets an F on that. The sooner he starts to realize the reality the less his depression will be after election night. Just my free advice for him but he won’t take it he will continue to believe MAGA will lose big which they will not. I was under no delusion the repubs would keep the house in 2018 history said they would not but some refuse to see reality.

Trump cost the GOP control of the Senate two years ago and he's going to do it again this year. How and why are you ok with that? You're not much of a Republican.

The Democrats spent millions helping them win the primary.
They must not be much of a “threat to democracy” or….

The democrats supported Bolduc while the republicans actually tried to block him.

I’ve asked before on this board, how can people believe the democrats when they whine that Trump is a danger to democracy while at the same time they’re supporting his hand picked candidates?

Ron Johnson questioned the election and yet he is surging. In reality he was never down 7 its the typical summer poll that way overestimates dems support now reality is setting in even from a leftist poller like Marquette who had Feingold up 6 over Johnson in 2016 at the same time. They were only off 9 points on that one. I thought abortion was going to doom the Repubs!!! Johnson will win the race by 5 points and Vance will also win rather easily. By the way bowlmania both are Trump buddies so cope!

Wednesday's Marquette University Law School Poll showed the race for U.S. Senate as a toss-up while Democratic Gov. Tony Evers held a narrow lead in his re-election effort.

In the Senate race, Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson was at 49% among likely voters, compared to his challenger, Democratic Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who was at 48%.

Johnson made up a lot of ground after the August primary, as independent voters shifted from a strong Barnes advantage in August to a narrow lead for Johnson in the September survey.

Because they don't really believe what they are saying. Simple as that.

Meanwhile, what is likely to be more of a detriment to people? Inflation? Yeah. Economy? Yeah. An impending railroad strike while Pete is talking electric cars? Mmhmm. The likelihood that the Democrats that get voted in would be likely to go along with their psychotic, anarchist leftist buddies and screw things up like California and Illinois? Yeah that too.

Yikes another orange man bad backed MAGA extremist is winning. I thought the extremist MAGA candidates were not supposed to gain in the poll it was supposed to go the other way??? 52 repub senate seats starting to look very real!!!!

U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and opponent Adam Laxalt are neck-and-neck in Nevada’s 2022 Senate election, according to Emerson College Polling data released on Tuesday.

A survey found that 42% of voters back Laxalt, while 41% support Cortez Masto, the incumbent. The latest results mark a three-point dip for Cortez Masto and a one-point gain for Laxalt, since Emerson conducted a previous poll in July.

This is well-documented and Phyloe addressed it at the beginning of this thread. They're funding some of these extremist candidates because they believe they'll be easier to beat than mainstream Republicans in the general. Obviously it's a strategy that's not without risk.

Its a strategy to win, and nothing more. It only matter who ends up winning in the midterms. As I stated above, as a Dem, this makes me extremely nervous. However, if they hold the line with this strategy, the good guys get the win. ;)

LOL!!! Can we refer to her as a right wing extremist!

She lost the election to Republican candidate Brian Kemp, but refused to concede, accusing Kemp of engaging in voter suppression as Georgia Secretary of State. News outlets and fact checkers have found claims of a stolen election difficult to prove, and have found no evidence that voter suppression impacted the result ...

Why Stacey Abrams
is still saying she won.

Stolen emails, stolen drone, stolen election .....welcome to the world of #unpresidented Trump
Quote Tweet

During the White House press briefing on Tuesday, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy confronted Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre with old tweets in which she accused various Republicans of stealing elections, an offense which she now routinely denounces in the context of former president Trump’s claims about the 2020 election.

Certainly relevant to the other thread where we are discussing which team is dumber! 😃

Agreed and I didn’t like that. TKing a big risk and getting rid of a decent representative.

You know why. I think it’s a bad strategy and not in good faith. But they think it will be easier to beat the non serious candidates.

@bailey777

Baris now has Mastraino tied in PA. Gonna be a rough holiday season for Bowl and Zeke.
I'll have a great "holiday season" (are you part of the war on Christmas?) regardless. I'm an Independent who still holds out hope for the return of a strong two-party system. Right now both parties are a mess, with the GOP the bigger shitshow as long as Trump's at the helm.

Who's Baris? Every recent poll I've seen shows Shapiro with a lead, some as high as double-digits. The closest I saw recently was Emerson with Shapiro +3.

Do you think these women (see below) are registering to vote for Mastriano? Fuggetabout it. He has absolutely no chance.

ho disagree and those politicians are routinely elected.

There would be nothing wrong with it if you could show one itty-bitty infinitesimal piece of evidence proving widespread fraud.

Too bad Lindell's phone was taken. He could show all that evidence...again.

Lol. You’ve been posting polls for a year. They aren’t even very sound right before an election, yet you act like they are set in stone. It’s just silly. But give us a new one every day. I could give you one that refutes it every day too, but I know it’s a waste of time.

Baris is this strange pundit/poll analyst who runs the Big Data Poll polling company. For whatever reason, he has aligned himself (although somewhat ambiguously) with the Trump movement, and the far right loves him. However, there are questions about his company's methodology. It is one of a handful of polling firms that has been banned by 538's model, which is usually reserved for polling companies that have falsified data or otherwise engaged in fraud, but could also be for other reasons, such as a severe lack in transparency about methodology.

These horrible numbers for Biden are very good news for the MAGA "extremist " candidates in these states where I suspect they will do very well!!!! Extremists MAGA will likely will at least two of these senate races if not all of them!

NEVADA Approve 37% Disapprove 53%
PENNSYLVANIA Approve 39% Disapprove 57%

Mark Kelly is not going to lose in Arizona. Thank God. And if you are happy about Walker’s candidacy in Georgia, it’s a sad commentary on you.

How is it so hard to understand that both of these things can be true:
1) Biden has been disappointing;
2) electing Biden and other Democrats railing against those promoting the Big Lie is far preferable to electing a bunch of crackpots who openly seek to undermine democracy.
