I am in agreement. It shows what happens when people get complete power. It's one of the reasons why I love our form of government so much. The Founders understood that separation of powers in the Federal Government was important. Also you have the separation of state governments. The Feds are not supposed to infringe on the rights of the states.

If these leftists win then we will all be in a world of hurt including them. I truly believe their end game is to tear down our current system of Republic and capitalistic economy and replace it with some sort of socialistic one. Those on here who attack are probably good people but they have bought into the lie that capitalism is bad, and our founding as a country is illegitimate. To have this view is ok, but when people in power believe this then again, we are in a world of hurt.

VPM clearly doesn't understand the complex nature of Hitler's rise to power and believes it can be encapsulated by low German morale and Hitler giving people hope. Of course, that simplistic analysis ignores the reality that even when Hitler became Chancellor and then Fuhrer the Nazis were still a distinct minority and the culmination of their "rise to power" was due more to clever manipulation of the electoral process than any widespread popular support.
Of course, once they got a toehold into the Reichstag they were able to use propaganda and terror (Reichstag fire "by Jews") to consolidate power But at least VPM is honest and earnest regarding his lack of a solid understanding of history...

Unless "armed rebellion" somehow qualifies as a "political view", then the exact opposite is true. The Bavarian Govt openly tolerated the Nazis and basically allowed them free reign to roam the streets and intimidate anyone who dared to oppose them for a number of years until the Putsch basically forced the Govt to deal with open treason on the streets of Munich.
Even then Hitler was treated with kid gloves, given an unbelievably light sentence, and a private room. Basically, his imprisonment consisted of a 2-3 yr vacation which allowed him to receive visits from old friends, consolidate his inter-party power behind the scenes thru his intermediaries, and of course, finish composing his opus- Mein Kampf...
If Weimar was corrupt it had more than anything to do with the various militarists, Monarchists, opportunists working towards one common goal- eliminate any semblance of Democracy and destroy Weimar from within.
The same people who couldn't accept that Germany lost WW1 and needed to scapegoat the Jews and foreigners were the main forces behind the Nazis and other groups working to ensure that any attempt at Democracy in Germany was doomed from the start.
