I know many on the right here scoffed at the suggestion that Trump would start a TV network to go after Fox. I’ve always thought that was his play. He can star on his own network and play reality TV President. It’s his dream. All the attention and no responsibility.

A lot of people at Fox could lose their jobs.
I wonder if the pearl-clutchers will be here soon to defend them?

Low ratings make you lose your job, not the degree of untruthfullness. At Fox, lying is good. The crazier the lie, the better. The angrier that the view gets after hearing the lie, the better. The higher the frequency of lies on a program and the more outlandish the lies are, the higher the ratings, and the safer the host & staff.

People like Chris Wallace, who will say unpopular things if they happen to be true, would seem to be at higher risk than Hannity or Carlson, for example, unless Hannity or Carlson happens to commit a felony. wait... maybe they are pedophile cannibals, hiding behind a front selling pinapple pizza.

I'm not sure Fox is going to lose those poor and working class folks who may not want to pay a cable bill and subscribe to Trump's platform. I bet a lot of those folks will still watch Fox, because it's easy to access. We'll see if Trump is going to bring folks like Hannity or Ingraham along with him, too. But he'd be jeopardizing his own stardom with competition from hosts that have been doing it for a long time, right? Trump is good at standing in front of a large receptive live audience, but he may not be very good as a TV host. We'll see what his inflated ego comes up with.

I hope he does. I imagine it will about as successful Al Gore's Current TV..... maybe less so since it's a standalone subscription, and he won't go along with the cost of creating an actual cable network.

All the crazies can feel welcome to congregate there, hopefully he takes Hannity with him.

Many Trump supporters tuned into Newsmax TV during the election week which averaged 182,000 per day. Previously it averaged closer to 25,000.

Commentators claim the uptick was due to Trumpsters being upset with Fox.

Actually, this will help FOX who frankly has a better track record of including both sides in most discussions than CNN or MSNBC (commentary entertainment shows aside of course Carlson, Hannity, Ingreham etc).

TrumpTV as I have said here before will suck up the nutjobs and allow FOX to cater to a more moderate/right clientele.

Problem is that TrumpTV is an 18 month phenomenon at best.

Trump has shown precious little of the discipline that it takes to run a successful TV network. He has a stronger built-in audience than Current TV did, but his business tendencies are specifically the recipe for how you run a network into the ground. I suspect he'll raise a significant amount of money for the endeavor and that it is bankrupt and out of business soon after the 2024 elections.

I think you missed a step. He will raise a significant amount of money for the endeavor, pay himself a huge fee for the name Trump and consulting, and that it is bankrupt and out of business after the 2024 elections.

"Going after Fox" likely means that Fox becomes a mainstream, centerish-rightish network . . . which would in effect move the country's media further to the right. It might be an effective play for "polite" or even "principled" conservatives if that's how it works out.

BTW, a former Fox and Tsargrad exec, Jack Hanick, is in Florida in a consulting practice with his wife. Trump won't deal with the day-to-day . . . he'll turn it over to someone like Hanick to found and run.

Regurgitatively vomitacious.

Trump didn't deal with the day-to-day at his casinos either. He'll hire a respected professional to run it and then kneecap their ability to do so effectively...kind of like he did with the State Department, the Department of Defense, the NIH, the CDC, the Justice Department, the Department of Interior, the Intelligence Community, the...

There is no question that has been his plan all along. I'm sure he has been thrilled with the power of being pREDDITent, but it's the base he's attained throughout, whom he won't readily push away even in his role as pREDDITent, that will go with him in whatever he does.

He will find out that base won't be as big as those who voted or supported him politically, because there is also a good chunk of those who went for him due to his position.

Trump will be a factor through 2024 at least.

Where he will screw up is if he gets directly back into politics. The GOP will squeeze him. They learned they can win without him, at least within the ebb and flow of politics. If he goes independent, he will split the GOP vote. A vote from Trump or an independent candidate of his choosing will be a vote for the DNC.

If I were him, I would stick to the financial and media side of this only. His network can take over (even include) guys like Hannity and Rush.

We can hope.

Your first sentence is correct as I stated earlier in the thread but you lose me at the second. CNN and MSNBC aren't moving anywhere. They have a large base of loyal fans eating the daily red meat they serve. They will adjust from campaigning for Biden 24/7 (while calling it news) to congratulating Biden and Harris both for overcoming what Trump did 24/7 (while calling it news).

It's like the USFL all over again.

Will Hannity be his Herchel Walker.

Seriously I wonder if Hannity is nervous right now as he's got a great gig currently. Will he say no to Trump and become a Never Trumper?

Will be funny to observe.

For the record my prediction for the past year was that Trump would take over OAN as it has the infrastructure already.

Not as confident today as I agree, he'll want it bearing his name fo sho.

It’s exactly what Fox deserves for getting in bed with that orange piece of shit and peddling their conspiracy theory horseshit. I’d love to see all the rats start eating each other.

Fox is not a digital media company, nor are any of it's competition.

it may have a digital presence, but that's not where the money or the influence is.

if Trump wants to clobber Fox, he can't do it from a "digital" company.

I don’t know how we are ever going to get this country united over anything at this point.

Its not or not until the underlying problems are solved. But how will those problems be solved in such a toxic environment.

So basically it won't for the foreseeable future. This may be a bridge too far to cross.

A certain segment of Trump supporters related to him saying he loves the uneducated. On that day they all decided they didn’t need to learn any more the rest of their lives. And they haven’t.

Latest gossip is Trump and allies want to buy Newsmax.

Trump TV -- where many, many people want to know the answers to questions.... that had already been answered. And discuss conspiracy theories.... that had already been debunked.

Trump has already collected more than $170 million in donations for his fair election bullshit. He’s not going away for one simple reason: money. As long as people donate, he’ll collect the donations. He’s never had a remotely comparable scam. He doesn’t even need to lift a finger, campaign, go anywhere, glad hand anybody. He already has the mailing list. He sends out the emails, that is his serfs send out emails, and In come the donations.

The one positive I see is money out of his fools’ pockets.
