Trump is now selling Bibles..

Let’s discuss it. Which 7?
The Middle East - I don't think he has a clue on how to resolve the Israel war against Hamas or work toward a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians. I also think he's unlikely to find quality people to help him get a clue. Who's going to help him with that, Steve Bannon?
Eastern Europe - Put aside the nonsense about resolving the Russian war against Ukraine. I think he's most likely to resolve in Russia's favor. His followers are increasingly isolationists, anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia (you don't have to leave this board to see that) and he'd probably be happy to appease them and cut weapons support for Ukraine and look away as Russia slowly takes over Ukraine. At most he'd push for a resolution which likely gives Russia most or all of Ukraine.
NATO - Trump has told the Joint Chiefs that he wanted to leave NATO and was talked into waiting until after the election (which he lost, MAGAs). NATO remains a vital organization in America's interest. More so with Russia looking to take Ukraine and Putin's desire to reconstitute the USSR's territory one country at a time. Taking Ukraine puts him in position for taking the next country in his sights. Continued Russian aggression is not in America's interests. The economies of Europe and America will suffer tremendously.
Families - I have no idea why you'd think Trump would be better for families. On personal example alone, he's the worst possible. He's personally immoral with his history of womanizing, affair with a porn actress, serial dishonesty, incivility, etc., etc. (this could go on for pages ) He does nothing to promote families that I'm aware of. He'd be no better than Biden, who I see more as doing no harm. This one is probably more of a tie.
Free expression - Trump is the guy who's actually talked about prosecuting members of the press after he's upset by something they've written about him. It's all about him. He cares nothing about freedom of the press.
Federal Budget - Trump claimed he could balance the budget in eight years. In the three years before the pandemic, he did 100 percent of NOTHING to move toward that goal. Then he took advantage of the deficit to send checks with his name on them to Americans. This is no less of a brazen attempt to buy votes than Biden's first loan forgiveness plan was. In short there is no evidence that Trump would be better than Biden on the Federal Budget. The key to that is control of Congress anyway, and it's very likely Republicans will underperform this year because of Trump and Trumpster candidates. He and they, are that unpopular.
Divisions and Race - There has never been a more divisive President than Trump. The man didn't even pretend to be President for all Americans, he was only President for his base. Everyone else was an enemy. No one has encouraged America's racist faction more than him. He can't even bring himself to truly criticize them because he knows they're part of his base. I don't appreciate the race baiting of the left by any means, but I'm not proud that he's encouraged the White Supremacist and other despicable Americans to openly support him and the Republicans. Sure, they really only support the MAGA Republican Party, since none of them have any loyalty to the GOP. I want them marginalized and that isn't going to happen with Trump as President. Then there's the way he's treating the a$$wipe criminals that participated in the attempt to disrupt certification of the electoral votes on January 6 (Trump lost, MAGAs) as patriots, victims and hostages and promises to pardon them. There could be few things that would be more divisive than carrying out that promise. No thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's bullshit that she's blaming illegal immigrants. But once again, you and your fellow dupes believe whatever your told.

Her quotes are below and never blamed illegal immigrants for the bridge disaster.

"potential for foul play, given the wide open border". And she's right - there is a LOT of potential for foul play, considering the wide open border. Any moron would acknowledge that.

But you've never been known to actually understand what you're reading anyway.

Fox News host slammed for linking Baltimore Key bridge disaster to immigration: ‘Reprehensible stupidity’

American financial journalist, television personality, news anchor, and author

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo has been slammed after she attempted to link the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore to Joe Biden’s immigration policy.
In an early morning broadcast on the right-wing channel, Bartiromo asked US Senator Rick Scott for his take on the bridge collapse, linking it to the “wide-open border.”
“Let me also get your take on what’s going on in terms of world affairs. The White House has issued a statement on this saying that ‘There’s no indication of nefarious intent in the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge,’” Ms Bartiromo said.

“The ship involved in the collapse of the bridge is 948 feet long, called The Dali, a Singaporean-flag container, but of course you’ve been talking a lot about the potential for wrongdoing or potential for foul play given the wide-open border. That is why you have been so adamant,” she added.
I don’t think you actually read what you reply to and I’m not sure you read all of what you post.

Bartiromo is being criticized for coming up with the asinine suggestion that border policy could have contributed to the Key bridge accident and floating that notion on air without any proof.

And tell me, if she isn’t flirting with idea that people coming into the country illegally were at fault here, why would she bring up border security? Who do you think people who are advocating for stricter border/immigration laws are trying to keep out?

It's still a fraction of the black vote, but it is large for recent decades. I think this is one of those "despite Trump" and "despite racial baggage" kind of things. I've said for years that Republicans need to capitalize on the fact that the Democratic party takes the black vote for granted. The Democrats pay lip service to their issues, and nothing gets better. One of those things is crime, and the GOP is still considered better on fighting crime (which is a traditional Republican thing we need to continue). Employment is another, Black unemployment reached historic lows during the Trump Presidency before COVID (when it soared faster than white unemployment) and Black probably remember that. However, it's about at the same historic lows again post-COVID. I expect the increasing isolationism of the MAGA faction and the idea (unproven) that we should focus all domestically instead, probably appeals to some as well. 17 percent probably thinks crime, education, employment might be better under Trump (or Republicans) rather than under Biden and the Democrats or that it wouldn't be any worse and they're tired of being loyal Democrats with no appreciable changes with their primary issues.

For the first time in my life time, I think the candidates for president do not matter. They are both equally bad. What does matter is the direction of this country and how do we get back on the right track. Aloha, I respect and admire you as much as anybody on this board, but I think you are flat dead wrong on this. The left wing crazies are attacking and demolishing too much to allow them a scintilla of more power, influence, and control of anything at any level of government. We have huge policy issues concerning

The border
Energy
The middle East
Eastern Europe
NATO
The auto industry
Education
Social services
Families
Free expression
entrepreneurship
Crime
Drugs
Federal Budget
Divisions and Race
Guns and violence

The left is in the wrong side if all of it. The GOP goes along with some of the problems, and I don’t diminish that. But the left is now wrong about all of it. Some of it Biden has directly f*cked up. We can’t live with more left-wing nuts anywhere in power. Some of these problems are now irreparable. We can’t have more.

Finally, Trump is a threat to democracy is a load of crap compared with Biden. Biden’s border policy is an absolute disaster that almost 3/4 of the country rejects, yet he marches on—and blames Trump! That is the real threat to democracy. Then student loan forgiveness. Then driving EV’s down the throats of all Americans. None of this is a product of democracy, but instead the product of a bunch of know-it-alls who don’t give a damn about representative government—the deep state.

The ME isn't in the same situation now. I don't believe Trump can handle the current situation.

Every President has pushed NATO to meet their defense spending target (it wasn't a requirement), and that is one thing I said Trump was doing OK on. Now a couple more countries have met the target. That's actually improving under Biden. Trump also didn't truly understand the issue as he talked about it as if NATO countries weren't paying their dues. That wasn't the issue. Can't get past the fact that he's openly stated he wanted to withdraw from NATO. He's a non-starter on this issue for me.

Unfortunately, cancel culture has become a bipartisan thing in recent years. Neither of our extremes is willing to tolerate differing views. Only Trump has openly talked about prosecuting the press for nothing much more than not being nice to him.

Agree on budget, but Trump with a Republican Congress is probably worse than Biden with a Republican Congress. I think Republicans will win Congress despite Trump so that's why I'm OK with Biden on this one. Spending is most likely to remain more stagnant in that scenario.

Don't disagree on the BLM movement which I criticized much, but that doesn't mitigate all I said about Trump and stand the idea that he was the most divisive President in my lifetime. More than Biden, more than Obama and more than Nixon.

I see it in action in Florida. East Coasters there are generally Democrats. These are people with money - a lot of money. Old money. The kind who would have been Republicans 20 years ago. But it's not fashionable in those circles to be a Republican anymore.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. Once again you show all of us what the board can be.

Some responses.

The Middle East. I guess this is where we have the strongest disagreement. I don’t think there would be a IsraeliI/Hamas war if Trump were elected. First of all, this isn’t a war with Hamas, the Houthis, or Hezbollah. The war is with Iran. Trump focused on Iran, and really had Iran on the ropes. Trump killing Soleimani was huge not only in sending Iran the proper message, but also the proper message to Iran’s. surrogates. Biden blundered his way into this by releasing all the sanctioned money (including twice after October7) and not publicly condemning Iran. Biden has more harsh words for Israel than he does for Iran. His UN abstention on the anti-Israel resolution was disgusting and can only prolong the present violence and cause more in the future.

Eastern Europe Nowhere is Biden’s inherent passive/aggressive behavior more evident than his positions in Eastern Europe and with Putin. Biden talks his butt off about evil Putin, but his actions have been timid and ambiguous. We can’t resist Putin by using corruption in Ukraine as our agent. I think the war will end in Russia’s favor for two reasons, Russia always had more mikirptary force and Biden ignored the ramifications of Putin’s pre-war buildup and was too conciliatory in the beginning. Biden was scared to death of escalation. The biggest threat to Putin is LNG. The global impact, and Russian impact, of US LNG exports is significant, and more so with the sabotage of the Russian supply to Germany. Trump understands. Biden doesn’t. Biden’s “pause” of further LNG export infrastructure is a huge blunder.

NATO This might be a point. But Trumps MO is to state a POV in a way to immediately call attention to a problem, kinda like gluing body parts to a highway. The simple fact is NATO took advantage of Uncle Sam’s largesse. Trump is the only President who said enough! Good for him. Several NATO countries responding by honoring the promises made to us and others.
Families.
This is one issue more focused on the left in general than on either Trump or Biden. The nuclear family is vital to a well functioning society. Democrats and tge left diminish this thinking that government at verity’s levels, or NGO’s can fill the gaps. Nowhere is this more evident than in many black homes where bad families, bad education, and drugs cause intolerable violence, crime, incarceration or dead kids. Democrats are in charge in areas where this is the biggest problem.

Free expression. This one should be undisputed. The left wing attacks free expression on almost every campus. That is our future. Attacks on free expression, under the euphemism of “misinformation” is rampant in media, social media and tge workplace. The attack comes from the government and the left.

Federal Budget. This one is truly bipartisan. But I hold the opinion that the GOP offers more hope on this than the Democrats. For Every single issue facing the country, the Democrats propose more spending and more programs. The Border is a perfect example. Fixing that might take a little more money, but mostly it takes political will.

Divisions and Race . You won’t get any argument from me about Trump’s political divisiveness. But I see that as irreducible and always present political divisiveness and isn’t any more serious than all the divisiveness Lincoln faced from being a midwestern hayseed. The Democrat divisiveness cuts deeper into who we are as a country. Whether it is race, sex, sexual orientation, trans, and more the Democrats don’t miss any opportunity to drive wedges and exploit the divisiveness to get votes. Those who oppose Biden immigration are called racists. Those who think Harris is a moron are misogynists. Support sensible voting requirements and the response is Jim Crow on steroids. Even Carville noticed when he remarked to the effect that the Democrats have become so focused on color and gender that white guys aren’t relevant.

You don’t know who they are? Basically everyone who has worked with him. It’s been posted here multiple times. I’m sure a few if them are writing books, but not all of them. You can’t possibly think they all have later ulterior motives. And no, you may disagree with Biden’s political views, but he’s not an asshole.
Holy Crap!!

I'm tired of the shenanigans of the left too. Electing Trump would do nothing to address that.
I keep seeing Trump as an aberration, and nor a very comprehensive one.

The left is much more than shenanigans. It is advancing and putting in effect very long term and perhaps irreversible policies. Iran, Energy, The border fallout in hundreds of communities, crime, to name some.

But dad I don’t want to be a tranny. I know. I’m sorry. But we have no choice. The progressives are in charge. Okay. Dad tell me a story. Tell me the one about how people used to eat crab legs. Don’t lie though. Is it true? Did they for real? The legs of a crab!!!

And I will never vote for Biden. The world was a hell of a lot safer during trump’s tenure. And the left disrespect police and local law enforce and have eroded faith in both the police and the justice system with their defund the police and bail project shit. These measures impact literally where we live. Our neighborhoods. Our peace and enjoyment Feelings of safety. Hell manchin said Biden is controlled by a group of far lefties.
So you believe Manchin, but you don’t believe the dozens of people who know Trump who tell you how bad he is? The people who helped prevent his worst instincts from taking over the first 4 years. He will have none of those people the next four. No one competent or ethical will work for him.

Name the policies:
Never heard him call to defund police or bail projects
Never heard him call for the largest social safety net in history
Forgive student loans
Extended lockdowns
Border policy remain in Mexico etc had better numbers
Gas cheaper not attacking oil cos.
On and on.

So be specific. Let’s hear what policies Trump had that are worse than the Dems. List all of them.

You are way too obsessed with trannies. Lots of conservatives are. It’s weird.

ME was far better on trump. again results. compare his years to biden's.
nato we need other countries to contribute more and trump has hammered that home
free expression - cancel culture is a product of the left. Biden’s girl rapinoe literally trying to do it today to a 20 yr old kid
budget - both worthless
divisions and race - no group has fomented racial issues more than the left from harris and blm conventions etc. blm and the entire floyd summer of love was predicated on a false narrative. dei crt the entire administration is race and identity politics

Look who trump pardoned. Trump is the least racist guy out there. What was Biden’s comment about the poor kids just as bright as white kids. Good lord. Trump is an opportunist. He loves anyone who loves trump. Could be the klan or Al sharpton.
Oh come on, Trump is the least racist guy out there. You’re just kidding now. Lol

I’d be more concerned if he was hawking autographed copies of Mein Kampf. Meanwhile, Biden, the POSPOTUS, forgives more student loans in a last ditch effort to attract young voters.
Well, that may be next, it is his favorite book, you know.

Not really was reading about rapinoe today attacking a young kid on the national team bc she feels differently from rapinoe. Don’t worry the woke cult will make sure the kid suffers consequences for her opinion
Yes but was she a tranny?

Not Rachel Maddow, the people who worked for Trump. Out of their mouths. Do you honestly think Trump has anything to do with policy? I doubt that any President actually has a lot, but some have strong feelings about certain things. trump is bored by policy. He never paid attention. I’m watching the game. I’ll list some of his awful policies later and how it impacted people. We can’t start with his harmful lies about Covid.
