If even just a small portion of what is described in this article is true, this guy needs to be stripped down, beaten to a pulp, and thrown out on the street in front of the White House. I'm far from a rah rah flag waving military worshipper, and this made my stomach turn.

And FWIW, that article was linked on Drudge. I'm chalking Matt up as another one who is sick of Trump's shit.

Sorry it’s hard to believe any of that, in spite of how big a POS he is.

I think it’s appropriate that those who claim to have a Devine right as being the most patriotic, flag waving, military supporting, Americans have fallen hook line and sinker for a foolish con man.

But, but he loves the military .... Surely this is fake news already by antics, commie, socialist loving Biden.

I too have doubts about this story but I'll bet that team Trump will have something equally as despicable out shortly about Biden. When you go low Trump can and will go lower.

Jeffery Goldberg is an award-winning journalist who is well respected by both conservatives and progressives. His expertise is in foreign policy. If you notice, he has multiple sources on his reporting.
I noticed these these "sources" are all anonymous. Typical of today's media putting out stories without revealing who said it. The article is garbage.

Seriously? All kinds of stories are broken by anonymous sources. It’s nothing new. Deep Throat ring a bell? I guess he could have made up names for them.

While in two other threads we have people creduously citing the NY Post story on voter fraud from an anonymous source.

Because of lack of sources or the fact you can't believe it possibly to be true? Or both?

See Mark's post above (the tweet from LaPorta). James LaPorta is a Marine veteran of the Afghanistan War and senior military affairs correspondent for Newsweek.

Seriously, why is this hard to believe? In 2015 Trump denigrated John McCain and his POW experience, questioned his heroism and argued "I like people who weren't captured, OK?" Trump's niece, Dr. Mary Trump, writes that Trump threatened to disown Don, Jr. if he joined the military, which Junior was apparently contemplating as a young man. Trump doesn't understand or appreciate military service, volunteerism, or anything that doesn't yield a big monetary payout. In fact, as the article reflects, Trump has nothing but contempt for military service. He is a despicable piece of sh*t.

If you're going to put an article with stuff like this put some names on it don't just say "sources with knowledge of the presidents views." When I hear that my bullshit meter goes up and it sounds like a guy with an axe to grind or a Trump hater.

You may need to synch your ''bull shit meter'' or maybe get a new one -- a man who has lied over 20,000+ ties and you still believe your 'bullshit meter'?

I think the most disgusting part is saying to John Kelly , while in the cemetery where his son is, Trump saying he didn’t see what they got out of it.

Well I imagine it is a Trump hater. How could you not be?

How does one verify unnamed sources? And why won’t someone with a spine go on record?

Fear. Look at Vindman. Trump will destroy you.
Vindman was hardly "destroyed". I have no doubt he will have no problem being a success in the new chapter of his life. Hell, he could probably resume his military career in a few months.

That whole fear and job loss excuse doesn't cut it. At some point you have to make a stand. Vindman did. He will be rewarded for it.

Just saw two military officers who were both nearly in tears it appeared over Trump’s remarks. Not even angry sounding, more like desperately sad.

I guess we have a different definition of "destroyed."

He likes
people who haven't been captured
people who haven't lost limbs
people who haven't suffered PTSD
people who haven't been selfless
people who haven't served their country.

There is NOTHING at all surprising about this story.

Lol everything you cite was a “but also” reason. The primary reason was he feared the rain would melt that hair of his like cotton candy. Those maga hats aren’t messages they are a ruse so he can wear a ball cap

He didn't verify the sources; he verified the story. This probably means that he has his own sources who verified the reports, some of whom may also be Goldberg's sources.

I agree that, ideally, for a story this big, I would greatly prefer someone was willing to go on the record. But let me ask you this: if one or more of them would have given their names for the story, would you have still have said the story is "hard to believe?" In other words, is the story actually hard to believe, or is your reticence solely because no one will step up and put their name on it?

The reason I ask is because I don't find the story hard to believe at all. That doesn't mean I believe it, of course. But I definitely think it is believable. The portrayal of Trump as a man who is actually incapable of understanding selflessness fits quite nicely with the apparent sociopathy we all suspect he suffers from.
