The consequences of living in a pro-Trump county

Darwinism. Natural process.

Besides they always say, elections have consequences.

Suckered by the Greatest Conman in the world has ever seen, I guess they paid the ultimate price.
He can’t be the greatest conman. The greatest wouldn’t have lost to a demented old man who never left his basement.

So he was out on bail. Which means he paid bail. Is that confusing to you?
No, I am not confused, but you appear to be. I posted content supporting crime waves. This has nothing to do with bail. The post on bail showed that a substantially low bail was set to release a known felon and criminal. Had the bail been appropriately set, if at all, the crime likely does not happen. That guy should have had no bail set whatsoever given his recent crime of running over his girlfriend with a car.

So, she didn't defund the police, but she's still wrong in your mind? Got it!

Murders in the US increased in 2020 by 30%. That is the biggest increase in murders since records have been kept. I believe trump was the president in 2020, no? The previous increase in the US murder rate was 12.6%

The murder rate has slowed in 2021. It is up approximately 16% this year.

Bottom line. It's not a "big city problem". It's a national problem.
I see you didn’t read the link as it stated Lightfoot cut $80M from the police in 2020 and now is wanting to raise it. Like I said, she learned her lesson.

And 30% sucks and 16% sucks too. And Trump sucks and Biden sucks. But the data from the article from the left leaning Guardian is not revealed. Are those charges of murder or convicted of murder? If convicted, then most we’re from 2019 or 2018 as many in 2020 have not been to trial yet. Or they may have been pled to a lesser charge. If charged, then we don’t know yet the result. Think Rittenhouse. He was charged with intentional homicide. Did his charge count in the research? And now he was found not guilty. Was that removed from the research?

So, as I stated to the OP, I can’t wait to see the study or research on crime in Trump vs. Biden counties. Wonder which university or think tank will be eager to do that research?

Edit: just thought - such a coincidence that murders in 2020 while riots, sorry, peaceful protests, were taking place across the US.

Look, I can't help it if you don't like your Republican leadership.

You've got Trump, McCarthy and Meadows and, since none of you will challenge them, you also have Boebert, Taylor-Greene. Cruz, Carlson, Ingraham, Bannon and Carlson.

Surely, you have already found someone to vote for from that list.

Edit to add: the only person you recently said you'd vote for is ....... Joe Manchin, a non-Republican. Any Republicans you care to brag about?

Lmao what you do you have Biden and Harris? Have you looked at their approval ratings? The Squad? Cori Bush? Lol Did you pay attention to Va and the recent elections? What do you think is going to happen at midterms? Hell I'd take DeSantis over any of these people, and I trust more Americans would as well. Hell Trump polls better than Biden at this point from Mar-a-Lago. Your party is terrible. What leader do you have that's worth a shit. Who are you going to run in 2024? Pete? The guy who sits at home?

Both parties are shit at this point in time. You're just too stupid and uneducated to recognize it.

The whole point of your link that the guy was free, right? What Ribbont (I believe) was saying that libs want to just "get rid of bail for everyone". So, your post was either completely irrelevant to the conversation or it was evidence showing that some people who have enough money to make bail are bad people and will jump bail as soon as they're released, and possibly commit more crimes. The idea of bail reform is to keep people like that in jail and let people out who are busted smoking a joint but can't pay bail. It's common sense.

If I'm wrong, I'm all ears. What was your point?

Probably about the same as Democrat sycophants are handling the news Clinton was there many more times, with visual evidence.

Kind of undermines their whole narrative that Trump is the only womanizer in politics - not that any of them recognize hypocrisy when it's obvious.
Trump was never there.

Apparently you have no understanding of discussion. With my statement of “Awesome”, I agreed with you. I gave no pushback, did I? I just wondered about other Trump vs. Biden data that might be interesting. Sorry to expand on the conversation.

Agree. I wish my party was more progressive. Instead, we have a mod-conservative potus.

On the San Francisco article, I was referring to the posters second statement.

“And stealing has not been allowed?”

I am going to go out on a limb and assume you are familiar enough to know what’s going on with crime in large liberal cities such as San Francisco and NYC . The grab N Go is in full swing due to policy changes of no arrests being made where the value of goods stolen is under a certain amount. Regarding the bail, I posted the article on the topic. Use it or don’t use it. I couldn’t care less what you do with it.

What are you stuck in time? Now people have learned what they are like and it's reflected in their approval ratings. No different than Trump or many other Presidents. VA was telling as a repudiation of the silliness we're seeing. Midterms won't go well if Biden is at 30 something percent and Harris is stuck at 20 something.

I can’t believe you mostly agree with the hate Mark is throwing... Why hope Omicron is horrible? Why not hope it’s Covid fizzling out?
Mark was PERFECTLY clear in his hope that omicron would indeed be Covid totally fizzling out, infecting everyone and killing nobody.

What he said:
"The only hope I have remaining is that Omicron overwhelms and supplants Delta, but turns out to be less virulent (which appears might be the case based on what little info is available). Covid Omicron may end up being more infectious and widespread, but if it's less debilitating or deadly, that's a better outcome on the grand scale"

Yeah, the numbers are from the FBI Annual Report on Crime. I think the FBI knows what a murder is. Take it up with them, since this has been calculated by them since 1960.

Aaaand you're wrong again about Lightfoot defunding the police. The CPD budget has risen for each of the last four year. As for what Mayor Lightfoot thinks:

"Mayor Lightfoot has been clear that she does not support defunding the police, a demand from activists nationwide that gained prominence this summer."

"As for Lightfoot cutting the police budget, The pandemic has put the City of Chicago in a $1.2 billion dollar deficit. Other city departments are facing much steeper cuts than the CPD. Overall, the city’s corporate fund (its general operating budget which funds basic city operations) is projected to shrink by 9% in 2021, but CPD’s allocation from the corporate fund will only drop by about 5%."

"The mayor’s proposed budget includes an $80 million reduction in tax dollars going to CPD, but only about $34 million will come from cuts in vacant positions, according to figures provided by the Mayor’s office to City Bureau and Injustice Watch. The rest will either be offset by grant funding or will be reallocated to the city’s Office of Public Safety Administration to fund clerical jobs once held by cops."

"87% of Chicago residents said more money should be taken from the CPD." “She looked for feedback. She received the feedback. She did not like the feedback and she said, ‘Yeah, but we’re not doing that ...we have to fund police,’ even though we have been funding police at a much higher rate.”

You can't increase a budget when there is no money to do it.

You seem stuck in time yourself. Trump says he's going to run again and Republicans are increasingly expressing opposition to him. His approval ratings aren't anything like what they used to be. A 2022 Trump isn't the same as a 2016 Trump before his own party realized how much he sucks. He won't affect the midterms as much as you think.

Hell, Republicans don't even like each other any more:

Any idiot can cherry pick situations where something went wrong. Your link proves nothing. And if you are correct about the low bail for this "known felon and criminal" the bail reforms that are being drawn up are designed to address just that.

Read this:

One disagreement with your post. No one cares about the VP's approval rating.

The midterms won't go well, anyway, although SCOTUS will have something to say about that. But, I remind everyone again that polls a year out have virtually no correlation to actual election results.

Worry about who the Dems will pick. Some of you have a truly bizarre obsession with Trunp.

For those of you acting like this bail thing isn't a big deal and is only for non violent crimes.

"On Tuesday, police confirmed Oscar Medina Soto was granted the Supervised Own Recognizance Program, or SORP. He was released from jail after allegedly fatally shooting a man on the 2300 block of Mammoth Drive on Jan. 10th.

Medina Soto was trusted by a judge to stay in Santa Clara County before his trial, however, police said he instead fled to Mexico. Investigators are currently trying to track his whereabouts.

Last month, Alfred Castillo and Efrain Anzures also walked out of jail after being charged for allegedly shooting and killing a man who crashed into them. Their defense attorney told KPIX 5 that the shooting was self-defense."

Why should Trump be an obsession as you put it?

Every significant POTUS has long term implications or impact. FDR and the New Deal, LBJ and the Civil Rights Act etc.
The big problem with politics and life in general is that it's merged into one big game -- the gamification of American politics. Blue versus Red. There is a finite time to each 'battle'. 40mins or 1 hour, election cycles.

That's how people see things --- when the reality is that there are perpetual consequences or knock-on effects of any 'significant' POTUS.

Also, the difference in Trump is that a great section of the American population cannot believe that the country was so gullible to have voted for such a con-man.
They don't want to believe that such a big proportion of the country could be so foolish and continue to remain so. It affects who they see themselves to be, being American as their identity.

In parallel, many still continue to believe him on claims like the Attack on the Congress/Fraudulent Election, the Covid Pandemic Management Disaster -- whether claiming it wasn't a problem and it's under control.
Trump's long term consequence of politicising healthcare which all contributed to hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths -- can continue to do so.

So is it an obsession? Or do a lot of people not want to believe that the country that they live in actually had Trump as their leader? Obsession probably not. But the denial or disbelief of who they think they are as Americans is the more likely.

Negative - some allow their preoccupation with their personal animus for Trump to cloud the reality that many of us can separate the person from the policies. I don't like Trump one bit as a person, but I would take him in a heartbeat over the current admin, as I trust Floor, HDG, Stoll, Coh and many, many others on this board would

Nothing new here -- Obama was quite conservative in my view on many issues under the guise of 'National Security', illegal aliens, using of UAVs for killing people etc -- and yet the Right or the Trumplets can only see him as some Manchurian commie plant.

I could go on. There are many examples of other POTUS incl JFK.

In addition, Trump stacked the Supreme Court for the next 30 years with justices whose rulings Trump will obey only if he wants to.
