The consequences of living in a pro-Trump county

We've gone through this ten thousand times. The problem is you are a ButHerEmails and are closed-minded.
Oh, running back to your non-responsive “closed-minded” comeback. Typical. You’ll probably even get a like from your self-important suck up.
Anyways, I’m all for people choosing to not get vaccinated. I’m all about “freedom, baby!”. And if freedom results in fewer Trumpers, that’s just a bonus.

You replied too soon. I edited same with the same answer that has been belabored to death. The reality is this has largely been a disease of the aged and those with comorbidities. It doesn't make it any less sad or heart-rending, but we can't shut down society over it.

As for your comment about hoping Trumper's die; it's hard to reconcile same with your avowed caring for people in the above post. You just want people you agree with to live. I see.

As for your snide remark, Bulk is many things but he's hardly my self important suck-up.

I never claimed to care about them. Pointing out a technicality with your livelihood statement shouldn’t be an issue for such an open-minded person.

I'd rather Bigfoot attack me. It's miserable out
Do NOT buy a tree from this guy...

The difference between how Missouri and Illinois have handled Covid has been night and day from the perspective here of a border city.
I agree with much of the arguments in the article. But I question whether pointing to a blue/red state difference based on this article looking at state policies on school closures from around the same time.

I hope your Christmas tree excursion was successful!

...And kids didn't fall as far behind in school, and sports were played, and businesses stayed home, and livelihoods were maintained, and birthdays were celebrated, and people got on with it.
....and families got to go to a lot more wakes and funerals, and families were destroyed, and, mothers who never worked now have to try to earn enough money to keep things together...and on and on.

But yes, everyone was able to play their sports.

McMurtry, your language is not anything that can be debated:

naive
stupid
you are both
Fear porn
Fear porn (again)
reactionary frustration
stupid (again)

Did you get these republican/conservative principles from William F. Buckley, Ronald Reagan or Marjorie Taylor-Greene?

But if you read beyond the headlines you’ll see that Omicron appears not to be a more deadly strain and your vaccination will protect you. No need to overreact to what you consider to be an overreaction.
Trump is compensating for losing all his old supporters that died by appealing to the teenage Kyle Rittenhouses of the world.

Pro-Trump counties now have far higher COVID death rates. Misinformation is to blame.

Who cares? So I guess if the those same people had voted for someone other than Trump they would not have died?

Be honest, did you have a celebration and party for this? It's definitely something you would do.

NPR looked at deaths per 100,000 people in roughly 3,000 counties across the U.S. from May 2021, the point at which vaccinations widely became available. People living in counties that went 60% or higher for Trump in November 2020 had 2.7 times the death rates of those that went for Biden. Counties with an even higher share of the vote for Trump saw higher COVID-19 mortality rates.

The trend was robust, even when controlling for age, which is the primary demographic risk of COVID-19 mortality. The data also reveal a major contributing factor to the death rate difference: The higher the vote share for Trump, the lower the vaccination rate.
Until the science (docs and epidemiologists not named Fauci) can explain why one person just sneezes and another dies, the numbers are meaningless. They’re just selecting data and parameters to reach the result they want to sell.

Media is now selling fear of Variant Ohmacron. Ask them how many people have died from it. They don’t even collect that data. When it comes to selling death, ”Covid is Covid”.

What was the average age in those counties? I don’t know what they mean about controlling for age. Trump crushed Biden in the elderly vote so of course there would be higher mortality in his counties.

How about physical health? Obesity is higher in rural areas than urban areas in many cases.

What’s the difference? Overestimating and enacting overly punitive policies is essentially acting on misinformation isn’t it?

Telling people the vaccine has killed thousands of people is a lie. It prevents people from getting the vaccine and it allows the virus to spread. Telling people that Ivermectin is a cure, Hydroxychloroquine will help, taking zinc is good, masks don't work. Those are things that are actually killing people.

At the same time, freaking people out about something for no reason is like crying wolf. Eventually people will become numb to it. Just like the "terrorism" game the media played for about a decade. I find it disgusting. I can't even look at the news anymore.

All I am saying is the media turning the fear level up to 11 in order to get clicks and sell ads is repulsive and a public disservice. Outright lies about vaccine efficacy and "cures" that aren't cures, etc. That is deadly.

P.S. I want to apologize to you. The last time I posted to you I was totally out of line and I've felt bad about it ever since. I'm glad you're back so I have a chance to say so.

Who’s claiming the vaccine killed 000s of people? Overhyping the danger of the virus is just as problematic as “misinformation” because it IS misinformation.

I have to wonder how the QAnon sycophants are processing the news that Trump himself was a frequent traveler to Epstein’s island. That detail sort of undermines their whole narrative- not that most I know are bright enough to actually process data
Probably about the same as Democrat sycophants are handling the news Clinton was there many more times, with visual evidence.

Kind of undermines their whole narrative that Trump is the only womanizer in politics - not that any of them recognize hypocrisy when it's obvious.

LOL! Reporting of the facts is now considered “fear porn” to conservatives. Perhaps this is why you all invented QAnon?
Reporting of facts is not considered fear porn.

Selective reporting of facts is considered fear porn.

Not that you'd understand the difference.
