The consequences of living in a pro-Trump county

Who’s claiming the vaccine killed 000s of people? Overhyping the danger of the virus is just as problematic as “misinformation” because it IS misinformation.
Fox News. Tucker Carlson, Hannity, Laura Ingram, Judge Pirro

"Media Matters found the between June 28 through July 11, "Fox News aired 129 segments about coronavirus vaccines. Of those, 57% included claims that either undermined or downplayed immunization efforts.
Among Media Matters' findings: "Forty-five percent of segments included claims suggesting that the vaccination drive is coercive or that it represents government overreach." Just one instance of the many cited came from Tucker Carlson's July 8th show where he lied that if you don't take the vaccine, "you'll wind up on a government list." Taking it even further, rabid Trump supporter Jeanine Pirro irresponsibly declared on her July 12 show that the goal of Biden administration's door to door vaccine outreach was ultimately "about confiscating your gun."
Even worse, Media Matters notes, "Thirty-seven percent of segments included claims suggesting that vaccines are unnecessary or dangerous." Just one example cited was Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who on her show last week touted "natural immunity" over the Covid vaccine."

There's a reason Trump voters are dying at a rate 3 times Biden voters.

I think there's a difference between hyping potential danger of Omicron (which is still unknown but I've not read of a single person dying). And outright lying about what is the best way to get it under control.

I'm not going to argue about it. If you feel they're the same thing, it's your opinion. I feel differently...but I'm still damned sick of the fear mongering. It's not helpful.

It’ll be interesting to see what causes more long term myocarditis - Covid or the vaccine.

lab nerds …
cant believe em
cant shoot em

My over/under on when I receive my first invitation to be a part of a class action for taking Moderna vaccines is July 1, 2022.

What does the data say on the likelihood of contacting myocarditis from the vaccine and from COVID? I’ve only heard anecdotal tales and those are wholly uninteresting.

Republicans.

Can't believe them.
Can't shoot them.
Can't even understand them.

There’ multiple reasons, mostly because they’re much older than Biden voters.

I still don’t see where people of repute are claiming 000s of people have died from the vaccine. Nor have I seen any study refuting that naturally acquired immunity is less effective than vaccine immunity. People are in their tribes - and I can’t possibly begin to understand thinking that natural immunity isn’t effective.

"People of repute" means different things to different people.

As for natural immunity, there have been studies done.

Multiple countries have stopped using Moderna for under 30 due to heart issues. Floor is spot on re a class action. It's guaranteed. It'll be interesting to see if the gov extends immunity for same.

It'll be later than that. I believe they have immunity for four years. But it's coming for sure

I wasn’t clear. My questioning of vaccine immunity and transmission hindrance starts and stops with Delta. It’s changed the game completely.

People with immunity from alpha probably don’t convey as much immunity against delta - just like the vaccines don’t.

Seems like a slight increased risk, particularly among males.

FWIW, my neighbor passed away (~40) from a heart condition, a few weeks after his second dose. There were heart issues in his family, he was a smoker and previously unhealthy (he actually lost a bunch of weight and looked the best I'd seen). There was also a guy I had met a handful of times through work that passed away at 41. He was in great shape and very physically active (heart attack).

In neither case was I willing to confirm the role the vaccine may have played, if any. It's too uncomfortable and selfish of an ask, even though I'm still curious.

Lastly, there was also a woman in MI that developed GBS after receiving the J&J vaccine. She's been hospitalized for at least 6 months.

That being said, all you can do is take experiences like this into account. I'm a data junkie. I know what the data says, but I'll be damned if I don't think about these instances.

I've still made the decision to get vaccinated and will likely get a booster soon (once I can find availability in a pharmacy). My wife is expecting and got her booster (which I supported) and we got my daughter fully vaccinated now (I've already rambled about that conflicting decision).

Depends on what time you ask and whether you hold your mouth right.

There’s a study out there for err’body!

Agree that big data needs to guide vax decisions. Very few meds are risk free.

I have to wonder how the QAnon sycophants are processing the news that Trump himself was a frequent traveler to Epstein’s island. That detail sort of undermines their whole narrative- not that most I know are bright enough to actually process data
And this has to do with this thread how other than another liberal clown trying to find something to say about Trump while he still resides in your empty head? I am surprised you are bright enough to even type.
