Whether a quick view of Twitter, Facebook or even various forums I’m somewhat amazed…but mostly disappointed in the many opinions formed absent what should be required, relevant knowledge in the appropriate domain, but then I remind myself of youthful ignorance prevalent in some no matter the age. I trace this back to the pedagogical wars between a “child-centered” school as opposed to a “teacher led” school. Give me the sage on the stage, rather than the guide on the side…any day! All opinions are not equal no matter what someone might “feel”. Somehow that has been lost in “some” youth that “feel” everyone’s opinion about everything is of equal weight.
FWIW, the “black redneck” was the reference to the migration to the north carrying the “culture” from the Antebellum south. It is rather amusing that someone researches on Wiki about a consensus mental giant due to not knowing who was being discussed and to find in “Wiki” something that generates a “feeling” that formed an opinion of a person ….based on Wiki. You can’t make this up. I don’t need you to respond and place you at odds with anyone in this forum, but you can name a lot of topics and YouTube will have many minutes of Thomas Sowell discussing over many decades of research and based upon empirical data over a lot of subjects. FWIW, here is chapter 3 of the book I referenced
chapter 3
A quick duckduckgo or even google can find Sowell in many youtubes or articles discussing slavery as well as MANY other areas that should be an interest.
