Our mod on the premium forum has made some hints.
It's not a given but yes, Purdue fans are confident.

Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Shouldn't you be chewing cud in a field somewhere waiting for a pimple faced geek to boiler up on that?
Lol, now now, no use crying over spilled milk.

A comment that certainly will endear you to IU alums in divided households with daughters.

The irony is incredible. Boiler fans over here crowing about one 3 or 4 star recruit that may choose them over IU when multiple recruits have done the exact opposite by choosing IU since Archie arrived. I guess you have to grab on to something, anything, when you are constantly looked over.

Some IU fans are no better. They didn't like Crean's shotgun approach offering a scholarship to anything that moved or adding low rated players like OG or VO. They also don't like Archie offering a smaller, more focused, group and then missing. Love to hear someone else's plan for recruiting, how it would be so much better and guaranteed to work.

In reality Archie is on his second recruiting class. He had no choice but to take Crean's guys when he got here. Last season's class was very good - landing their PG for years to come and adding Romeo late, even if he did not "dominate" and is leaving. You could not foresee Hunter's medical issue, Race as a redshirt missing most of the season, or RP missing weeks.

The 2019 class was looking very strong until one player (KB) decided to go in another direction. It still has a chance to be very strong. Anytime you add a TJD you're heading in the right direction. Franklin is a solid player with a lot of potential. If they add LQ or Watford it's all of a suddent a very strong class again. If not, it's a good class and that's the price of doing business in college basketball. It just means the returning players have to make a big jump in shooting the ball.

If they add LQ or Watford

We are not getting either one. So where do we do from here?

What in the world is going on with recruting. It is becoming clear that losing streak really is hurting recruiting in a bad way. This spring we have lost the following below recruiting battles. We got one transfer in Brunk but lost every other battle.

Harris
Brooks
Watford
Morton
Beverly
Quinones- likely gone
Leal still have not pulled the trigger. I was under the impression he was an IU lock?
Recruiting is a tough activity to follow. You get your hopes up, then get them dashed by the quirky decisions of some high school kid. You will have more success playing slot machines at an Indian casino.

You are saying that the rough season last year maybe influencing this years recruits. That could be true. It is also possible that the internal discord in the team, the chemistry, might be causing some recruits to shy away from IU. Those sorts of personal issues will show through any superficial covering when the kids talk with each other. I don’t know that any of what I am speculating about is true. It’s just a theory.

Brick wall? The 2020 class won't be on campus for another 15-16 months. Missing out on Morton does not equal a brick wall. Of the guys you listed, Brooks is the only one who is a major miss. IU was never in contention for Watford, people wanted to think Watford was high on Indiana because of his brother but it was the exact opposite. Guys like Harris, Beverly, and Quinones are guys that IU offered late once things fell through. These aren't guys that IU was pot committed to for year(s) only to lose out.

Given the amount of playing time and desperate need for a three point shooter we cannot even find one to take a grant for next year. You do not find that concerning in the least it appears? I am not talking 2020 I am talking not being able to find one guy for next season who can shoot.

If we give you a dozen doughnuts, three dozen bags of pork rinds, ten pounds of bacon and a bug gulp diet coke to wash it down, will you leave and go back to your barn?
Idk about her but if you let me pick the doughnuts, change it from coke to a case of water, and make it jerky instead of bacon I'd consider taking that offer.

Yep, injuries are why we got down 17-0 to Michigan at home, gave up something like a 22-0 run to Rutgers, and no-showed against Nebraska and Minnesota. The excuses people make to defend the ineptitude of this program are mind boggling.
Don't worry by this time next year most of the apologist will have accepted the reality that Glass struck out with Archie.

Thanks Nostradumbass, now do a card trick, or make yourself disappear.

I love how fans speak in absolutes about future events ..

We're fans man..this board is to express views. I don't get your constant need to be disrespectful just because you disagree with another man. R-E-L-A-X sunshine

Well, the answer seems to fit your dumb f****** post. You should spend more time following the game and less time abusing your Fred Glass doll. Then you’d know it can take a few years for a coach to get it going...

That or just keep on posting your trash. Weird choice but whatever...

It’s not that you are questioning Arch — we’re all curious to see what we have —- it’s the snide garbage comments that keep getting you bitch slapped. Lolol

No they will not after only three years. It took some of them nine years with crean and some still thought he was the guy. Some want Archie to gert 5 years minimum regardless of if he misses the NCAA again next year.

The bottom line is if Archie is not winning in year three the writing will be on the wall for him, at least with recruits.

Link to those posts that said min 5 years or are you and Stellera just heavy petting?

Divided households? Who would do that? Intentionally mixing of IU and purwho blood? I say burn them at the stake as witches and traitors!

That will take PU out of the Galloway recruitment as they are very similar players. I would imagine Archie will end up with Galloway now and it might turn out fine for both programs.

Similar players? Morton is much more of a facilitator and playmaker than Galloway is. Very different games.

Galloway is more of a slasher and rim attacker, imo.

My posts seem to trigger you!

They trigger my bowels...lol

Weird thing is that all but a couple of you really do probably know better but you just keep treating new Arch like old Crean anyway. It’s an idiotic look for this fan base.

I'd say 99% chance his future is sealed. He got exposed on national TV multiple times as being in over his head. Recruits & their families recognize it.
Yeah... he really got exposed when they played in East Lansing. I sure hope no one noticed that debacle. And then again when MSU visited Bloomington. That was terrible. I hope no one saw us beat Wisconsin or Marquette either. Did we have some terrible losses? Yeah. But it's pretty one-sided to only point out the losses without noticing the multiple wins over top 25 teams as well.

His fate isnt sealed but he needs to win this year. I cant remember the last time we went into a season without a returning guy we expect to really be a 15 point guy and the main option. It will be interesting to say the least.
