I to add on here because I honestly can't believe your post. Have you been black out drunk or something? I'm on the outs with many of the people on the Republican side on this board because I've been consistently criticizing Trump and those here that are totally in the bag for Trump. How in the hell can you not know this?
You're deflecting. I said nothing about Trump. When's the last time you lambasted a conservative poster for being one-sided like this? That's the issue.

So criticism of those on my side for being sycophants for Trump and criticizing the extremely poor candidates we have running as Republicans don’t count? Holy crap! I’m being accused of being a frickin’ Democrat and/or RINO by those on my side and you’re saying I don’t “lambaste” my side for their hyper-partisanship. I say again, are you kidding? You must be.

defending that clown is a new low for you

You only think I am a clown because you are hyper partisan ;).

It is pretty clear what side of the political divide people are based on which posters get likes and which get insulted.

No it's that there are certain posters, you, shitter, cosmic, who support the left irrespective of facts, etc. Once you see the letter D you support them. What's more any issue that you believe is damaging to dems, even if they are facts, you discount or put one of your inane emojis. Someone says 24 of the 25 most dangerous cities in america are run by democrats you'll put a laughing emoji. Why? that's a fact. blacks represent 13 percent of the population yet engage in a disproportionate amount of violent crime. it's a fact. you put a laughing emoji. biden's camp screens questions. it's a fact. you put a laughing emoji. that's why you are a shit poster.

goat putting aloha in the same breath as you as a poster is bizarre

I gotta say, Goat, I don't think Aloha is the issue on this board. As he says, he's repeatedly hammered on the "Trumpsicle" side of the board, which is basically the de facto representation of the current Republican party (for better or worse).

As for Hickory, he leans about 4,000 miles left of The Squad, at least as he presents himself here.

And that is most definitely "lambaste worthy," IMHO.

Hardly. But facts from conservatives are rare.

What would left of squad entail other than you trying to come up with an insult?

I don't think he's the issue, either. I was making a very small point, and he got defensive about it, so our disagreement lasted longer and seemed bigger than it should have.

I think Goat is just waiting for something like Aloha lambasting you for the list that you offered only having liberals on it. That's what he yelled at Hickory about (his list only having conservatives on it). It's a small point, but a salient one.

I can't speak for Goat on it, but my view is that there are certain posters who are more loudly partisan who get attacked a lot around here, but they aren't necessarily more partisan. Hickory and Cosmic are extremely partisan, but they aren't more partisan than plenty of folks on the right and others on the left who fly under the radar (and vice versa.)

No different then you and liking all the shit posts from conservatives that are hardly facts.

And just because crime happens in cities, doesn't make it the fault of dem mayors. You think if a gop person was mayor, crime would go away? Delusionally dumb.

Not laughing about you mentioning dems cities having high crime. I am laughing that you think crime is caused by being led by dems

Defund the cops; attacks on cops; bail reform; light sentencing; not enforcing criminal laws - all found within Dem led cities, including the most dangerous city in america. No it is not a coincidence that 24 of the 25 most dangerous cities in america are led by dems - it's by choice. it's policy

@IU_Hickory what's funny about this? You posted your inane emoji again let's hear it. You have experience in public administration? Law enforcement? Bail? Criminal dockets? Let's hear it. Of course you don't. You are a very stupid shill

Here's the truth. You have no education. No relevant experience. You are a brainwashed moron that even liberals on this board think is an idiot. You post emojis and never substance because you are incapable of doing so. You really are grover

Isn't outside shooter a respectful poster? Calling him "shitter" is reminiscent of the board's biggest jerk who, fortunately, recently stopped posting here.
Kind of interesting question. Personally i don't think anyone who incessantly posts hyper partisan posts attacking the other side is a respectful poster. i don't think cosmic is a respectful poster. implying on numerous occasions cops are all racist etc. and i have no doubt cosmic has a massive heart and is a good guy. but i don't think posts like that are respectful. viewing the other side as always bad isn't respectful. and i know there are many on my side who are the same way, including myself from time to time.

he's shitter; certainly no better than the poster you are implicating

What's funny about it is that a person as smart as you appears to sincerely believe that an issue as complex as that can be boiled down to D vs. R. That's just silly.

But I'm glad to know that you aren't like this IRL. ;)

Some issues can Hoos. This is one where policy and, in particular, Dem policy has a material impact on criminality in cities. It's not a coincidence. Cori Bush/Squad policy is horrible for crime. See my follow up post since electing a progressive prosecutor

This is what you get when you have a progressive mayor, cori bush politics, and a progressive prosecutor in the most dangerous city in america. Dems are not good at crime. There are many things republicans are shitty at, but it's irrefutable progressives and crime are a bad match. prosecutors are quitting over liberal head prosecutors and their soft policies. cops are walking out. and public safety suffers.

Progressive criminal justice reform prosecutor. And what predictably follows

They are good at trying to find crimes of ex presidents. But a criminal like this walked free. That is until the outrage was so great he was put back in jail with no bail. Why did it take outrage for a liberal prosecutor to do their job?

Read what's going on in Saint Louis after electing progressives above. Thousands of criminals walking around free, committing more crimes. Dems deny and ignore reality. They have their heads in the sand and are scared to death to say blacks in cities commit a shit ton of crime because they want their votes so badly. And republicans deny and ignore the underlying causes that give rise to the circumstances that create crime. Two parties that don't get it. stupid.

I'd humbly disagree. Boiling things down to "Cori Bush/Squad policy" is similarly silly. Given the way you describe "defunding the police", I doubt you understand Cori Bush/Squad policy (in all honesty, I doubt Bush and the Squad are super fluent in the specifics of the policies

Why is the murder rate in Bakersfield and Fresno more than twice that of Los Angeles? Why is Lexington, KY's murder rate nearly twice that of NYC's? Why is Jacksonville's the same as San Fran's? Those are all Republican mayors. By your calculus, they should be murder deserts.

But then things are rarely as simple as D vs. R in most discussions of good policy.

There are a whole assortment of complexities I could add to that conversation to talk about layers of good policy addressing crime. Heck, even you suggest below that Republicans struggle in addressing some of the underlying causes. And that's even before we start digging into crime rates in areas run by Republicans that dwarf those in areas run by Democrats.

Claiming that it is simple makes for good bumper sticker political claims, but is wholly ineffective when forging actual policy solutions to real problems. You make noise about being against the former, but you aren't engaging in the latter.

24 of the most 25 most dangerous cities in america are run by democrats. that is not a coincidence. what is transpiring in saint louis is not a coincidence. did you read the articles i linked? i understand policy perfectly well. i understand reallocating resources perfectly well. i understand suspended imposition of sentences, warrant delays, suspended execution of sentences, bail where bail shouldn't be given, prosecutors failing to issue because time runs out, i understand police shortages because it isn't worth the grief owing to cops not going into the academy or seeking early retirement. i understand budgets that should be 6x times what they are for true community policing to occur, like the irs is getting increased six fold. i understand what is and isn't constitutional regarding profiling. i have a very good understanding of all of the salient issues. i am well-versed in them.

This is more than 4,000 criminals out on the street because of the progressive prosecutor's idiocy. https://www.kmov.com/2022/05/19/victims-wait-justice-thousands-st-louis-city-cases-remain-limbo/

The literature and the benefit of years passing always goes back to how NYC prior to and during Rudy's tenure cleaned up the city. it was a public/private multi organizational/agency effort that they called the order-maintenance movement. They went from the homeless, to public spaces, to the subways, and bit by bit cleaned up every area. and if defunding the police had a notion like that behind it would be okay - but defunding implicates literally defunding here with Cori Bush, but even if it meant reallocating you cannot take many away from the justice system. you cannot be progressive in that component. you end up with 4,400 criminals walking the streets

I did. I was struck by how shallow and insubstantial the KMOV piece was with a final conclusion like

Meanwhile, cops tell News 4 that even some suspects are saying, ‘Oh, it’s no big deal, I will just be PAW’ed.”

And in fact, from our review of the list, there are some people who have been arrested, released, arrested again for a different crime and released again.

And? I'm certain that a person as well-versed as you in these issues isn't confusing that with a thoughtful examination of them.

I was likewise curious about the link about Kim Gardner supported your contentions of how simple crime is, particularly with its focus on Gardner pressing ahead with prosecuting an African-American man in a bank robbery case where law enforcement thought he shouldn't be prosecuted and money quotes like,

"Former Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce says critics don't understand the complexity of leading the city's prosecutors.

The complexity of the circuit attorney's job is nearly impossible to understand until you actually are the circuit attorney, Jennifer Joyce says."

It sounds like Gardner is struggling, but not necessarily in the ways that you seem to believe the article would suggest.

So, I'd love if you would explain the details of "Cori Bush/Squad policy" and how "dangerous" is defined and calculated in the stat that you offer. I've never significant policy details from "The Squad" (I suspect mostly because I don't think they understand the issue well enough to offer details), so if you have them and can expound on the pros and cons of them in some detail, that would be awesome.

Of course, that would involve some complexity. :>)

The point is that the criminals know nothing will happen to them. They get arrested, let out, and nothing is ever issued. hell they aren't even recidivists. they commit crime after crime and never go through the system.

as for your complexity i have no clue what you are talking about. it's not complex at all. it's very simple. the squad are anti cop. hell aoc was pretending smash and grabs didn't exist. cori bush wants to defund the cops, which is to say cut their budget and use it for more social programs. the result of cutting cops in the city of saint louis would be devastating. this isn't complex. we need more cops. five times more cops then we might see a difference. AND spend on social programs but not the same old tired programs. i think we should try guaranteed income.

If a party can't provide public safety, the most basic of what we as taxpayers should expect, they shouldn't be elected. And again the progressives are not good with public safety. We saw it in San Francisco; Chicago; Saint Louis, on and on.
