I don’t recognize this country anymore. Think about before Trump was elected. Elected Dems and Pubs could disagree on policy but still get along just fine. Not so anymore. He has just infected our civil society in such a perverse way that I don’t see how we get back to being what America has stood for all these years.
And statehouses control how and where the money gets spent.
Just take a look at the education systems in the country. The top ten states with the best educational systems are all blue states. The ten worst are all red states except one. So poor educational systems will lead to higher crime rates due to lack of opportunities.
Crime and crime rates are much more complicated than just red and blue and there is no simple answer to fixing it. But crime has been with us since time began. And it will be with us till we no longer exist.

The most dangerous cities in America are run by blue politicians. Progressive Dems have no clue how to run cities. The most dangerous city in America has been run by Dems for 75 years. It went from the 4th largest city in America to 280,000. And dead. White flight suburban flight is a product of Dems and urban blacks and the decline of school systems and increase in crime. If you have a large population of blacks you will have both. Simple reality.
So how do we fix that. I don’t know. With Dems it’s free cheese and dependency. With pubs it’s run away.
As for divisiveness the left is just as bad with cancel culture shaming and Biden’s constant maga bs. Two sides of the same coin with trump and Biden.

Politics are generally cyclical. When one party pushes too far to the extreme then there is a natural correction. However, in these days of both parties pushing to the extreme edges who knows. I just know that I’d much rather live in a free society even though I don’t like some of those extreme views than in a dictatorship that destroys everything this country was founded on. Unfortunately I think that those are our choices at this point.
We weren’t free with radical lefties virtue signaling and extending lockdowns and school closures.
Obama moved the progressive ball as far as he could. He was elected in 2008. Feels like a millennia ago. Pre-social media, social contagion, etc. If the first black president came in with student loan forgiveness and explicitly race based policies like Biden, he would’ve been eaten alive. That doesn’t mean that’s not what he wanted.
He walked so the Biden administration could run……. The country off a cliff.

No one knows how to run big cities. They are too complicated with long term institutional issues that dems and pubs haven’t fixed. And big cities will always have more crime because there are simply more people. I’m glad you know all the reasons that are continually spewed out by the MAGA crowd on what’s wrong with cities. I would venture to say that most criminals don’t vote and are not politically involved either dem or pub. The exception would be that most white collar criminals probably are. For anyone to say that they know criminals are dems or pubs would be just dumb and would prove they are the same.
