Trump Trial - New York

What do you think is the most likely outcome in the New York trial?

  • A guilty verdict on some or all of the counts

  • An acquittal ("total exoneration!")

  • A hung jury (jury cannot reach a unanimous decision and a mistrial is declared)

  • Trump pleads guilty to something prior to a verdict being rendered

  • Other (for example, a mistrial based on something other than a hung jury)

The most dangerous cities in America are run by blue politicians. Progressive Dems have no clue how to run cities. The most dangerous city in America has been run by Dems for 75 years. It went from the 4th largest city in America to 280,000. And dead. White flight suburban flight is a product of Dems and urban blacks and the decline of school systems and increase in crime. If you have a large population of blacks you will have both. Simple reality.

So how do we fix that. I don’t know. With Dems it’s free cheese and dependency. With pubs it’s run away.

As for divisiveness the left is just as bad with cancel culture shaming and Biden’s constant maga bs. Two sides of the same coin with trump and Biden.

You wouldn’t have this with bush or Obama.

Media plays a role as well. But again you vomit info that clearly is derived from one bent and does little to further discussion or debate. You really aren’t worth anyone’s time
How is it MAGA bs? He is just stating facts. You really cannot deny that the tone changed with Trump. Was listening to a boom the other day that had Bush, Gore and several other concession speeches and then some inauguration speeches. No one in recent history has ever spoken like Trump and out and out stated that half the country were his enemies. It’s why his cult doesn’t care what he does. He has made it so it must be your side or mine. Anyone who doesn’t worship him is a hater and loser. Just ask him. That has permeated all the way down in society. It’s pathetic and I don’t know how it’s going to change either. Politician are rarely interested in working together to get anything accomplished for the people. It’s about owning the other side.

I agree it changed with trump. Totally. We all had trump fatigue. That’s why so many of us were like ahhh F it. Joe is too old but he might be what we need. A quiet calm bridge to the next guy. Uncle Joe. Obama 2.0

But that’s not what we got. We got the cult. Every bit as divisive but wayyyyy more damaging. Shaming. Cancel culture. Everything is racist. The rich are evil. Celebrate tranny life. Cops are bad. No one work just live off the gov and people who do work. Climate nuts WE MUST HAVE EVS. Mask up and shame those who don’t. On and on and arguably more divisive. Crazy crazy cult.

So now we brace for four more years of one of the other. I’m praying it’s maga over the counterfeit Bernie and the woke cult

Link? Both are in the opioid/meth belt...
last data of 2022 west virginia had 77 murders out of 2 million people. 130,000 black persons in stl had more than that alone the same year. more than twice that if not three times. i don't know why he included kentucky as you have louisville which i believe has a large black population. opioid/meth lead to theft etc but are nowhere in the realm of homicides as urban communities.

Well they are. Remember what the media told us about Biden? They lied and said he was a moderate. Lunch pail Joe. Scranton Joe. Papi Joe. In reality he's been the most far left and worst President the country has ever had.
I think if the rest of the actual left felt Biden was as "left" as you seem to believe, he'd have shorn up left wing support and would be farther ahead in the polls than he is already...

Only you can answer this, because it's your opinion...

I'm curious what "far left" positions do you believe Biden has adopted, and what evidence do you have that those positions are out of step with the American people?

For example, a large number of people on this board seem to be opposed to student debt relief. But that would seem to be out of step with what the majority of Americans believe...

I can't dispute any of your other issues, without knowing what they are.

So Trump wanted to shoot "peaceful" protesters? I'm guessing he has no link for that.
An eyewitness acount from Esper. You know GOP official, member of Trump's cabinet and former Sec of Defense?

Of course if he's lying Trump could always sue him for defamation. But that won't happen because other witnesses would be called to testify and some of them would not be willing to perjure themselves to protect Trump...

More detail...

Did you even read the article you linked? It does not say anything about the majority of Americans wanting debt forgiveness. I'm suspect of that survey as 68% of those surveyed were Gen Z and millennials.

Well, duh, of course they are in favor. Let's do a poll with 68% Gen X and Boomers and see what the results are.

What a joke of a "news" story and the "polls". Of course, you slurp it up without a bit of skepticism because it fits your narrative.

So the post I responded to wasn't about "debt relief" per se. It was hisridiculous assertion that Biden is left wing. If Biden was "left wing" he wouldn't be dragged by pro-Paletinian voters in a state like MI and would clearly be leading further in MI. I do believe that ultimately people on the left who view Biden as too centrist will hold their nose and vote for him because as bad as they might think Biden is (for in their opinion enabling BiBi) Trump would be far worse.

A two party solution is not really an alternative as far as Trump's rabidly pro-Zionist Evangelical base is concerned. It's not that they love Jews, and they certainly wouldn't want their kids to marry someone who is Jewish. But they believe Israel is a vital cog in the summoning of the "last days" and a significant number of them are apocalyptic.

But again the post was set to refute his false equation of Biden with "leftism". And to do that I used the issue of student debt as an example where (imho) the majority of this board is seemingly out of step with the rest of the country. So I googled "student debt polling" and came up with the most recent example, the poll cited by the CNBC article. Again most people on the left would likely argue that CNBC is sort of center-right, with their focus on business...

If I had found polls showing the opposite I would not only have not posted them, but I wouldn't make the point I made in the first place. I don't just post opinions as facts, and I certainly would not claim the opposite of what the evidence I found shows.

And it's not like this poll is an outlier. The CNBC article provided a link back to an earlier article discussing a MC/Politico poll prior to the start of the GOP Primaries which basically found similar results...

"Outstanding student loan debt in the U.S. exceeds $1.6 trillion, and burdens Americans more than credit card or auto loan debt. The average loan balance at graduation has tripled since the 1990s to $30,000 from $10,000. Additionally, about 7% of student loan borrowers are now more than $100,000 in debt.

Voters support forgiving at least some student loan debt by a 2-to-1 margin, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll. Less than a third oppose the policy."

Neither poll was by CNBC, they just reported the results. One thing I'd say is if the majority of Americans were in line with what appears to be the majority of views on this board on various issues (like student debt relief) I don't think Biden would be advocating for them. A bunch of 50 yr old white men in Congress (at least the House) don't feel that paid child care is a pressing issue. Their kids are grown, they're basically all rich. But that doesn't mean it's not an issue many American voters place a great deal of emphasis on...

I'd say that's a popular issue with Dems and Independents. So it's an issue Biden is at least trying to address...

Biden is left wing on domestic matters. Cradle to grave benefits. Redistribution (taxes and racial equity). Safety net gov expansion. Identity politics. Climate.

Was listening to the Flying V speak the other day. He talks about a potential spot in the Trump administration as if it's almost a forgone conclusion.

That is excellent. No one talks about bringing mass layoffs to the executive branch with more fervor than the V.
Lol you love him

I want to know who’s paying for the trips of the Senators and Representatives that have been there the last few days. Can’t possibly be official business so it can’t be the taxpayers and it can’t be a campaign event so can’t pay with campaign bucks. Are these people such groveling toadies that they’re using their own money? Pathetic any way it’s sliced.

A nice show of support in the face of a sham trial. Stormy is an extortionist and should probably be on trial herself.

That doesn’t make this look like a politically motivated trial at all. 😒

I don’t care about this trial though I’m sure Trump shagged Stormy and McDougal and tried to keep it quiet. Aren’t you?

I’m just wondering who is paying for these congressmen trips. If it’s not on personal funds or by Trump out of the goodness of his heart (now that thought is hilarious), it’s not an authorized expenditure.

Trump's longtime lawyer and former "fixer" Michael Cohen was asked on cross today if he would confirm these past statements that have been attributed to him:

  • Trump is a "dictator douchebag."
  • Trump "belongs in a fvcking cage."
  • Trump is a "boorish cartoon misogynist."
  • Trump is a "Cheeto-dusted cartoon villain."
To the sound of laughter in the overflow room, Cohen confirmed all of them.

Sounds like Mikey is finally telling the truth.

Meanwhile Joes daughter confirms the diary and the showers and it gets buried. You should be proud supporting that. Jesus, the absolute offensive, irrational, stupidity around here is alarming and on a whole new level. UNREAL
