Most of those comments were made in late to mid-March -- some 7-10 weeks after it was first announced globally.
After this is over we may need to erect a memorial in DC, perhaps like the Vietnam Memorial, with the >150,000 names of those who died etched on it.

Hmm...it looks like ongoing national exposure to COVID-19 does curb (but not completely cure) smugness. Given that some of those people now know/work with people who've contracted it, the virus seems to target individuals who are most brazenly smug about dismissing it.
It doesn't seem to have a similar effect on stupidity though. To a person, all of those people are still idiots.
With a little luck each and everyone of those lying sacks will spend a little time with the virus. One of my nephews father in-law just passed away this past Saturday.
