The GOP is trading soccer moms for Walmart dads.

The CoC Republicans weren't doing everything in their power to rid the country of manufacturing jobs - they encouraged free trade, which Clinton also endorsed and pushed through NAFTA.

What many of us - and I include myself - didn't realize was the real threat of war from another nuclear power and our offshoring of critical parts needed to confront those threats. Trump saw this and actually was proactive in addressing it, which is unusual for an American President. If Republicans ignore his example, then shame on them. That's why so many are loathe to dump Trump - he appealed to the working class and implemented policies not strictly based on ideology.

Wokeism was very much responsible for the near economic collapse in 2008/2009, due to Democrat policies enacted to allow more 'fairness' in the lending process.

How anyone can look at this country's problems and not see wokeism as the source of the problem is mind-boggling to me.
Raw materials is a big one. We let China erode our steel and aluminum. How our free market economy is set up it’s easy to attack steel, aluminum, copper, power…etc.

Oh yeah, as soon as a progressive making 100k a year moved to Norway and their take home ended up being 50k they'd do a double take on their ideals.
My nephew and his wife moved to Stockholm for a couple years - she works for some accounting firm. The both make good money.

They are living on credit card debt.

As long as we agree predatory lending practices by big mortgage banks/institutions played an enormous part in it as well. ARMs were nearly unregulated. NINJA loan apps. Sure you can equate the beginning of wokeism with the collapse but that really started with GWB wanting everybody to own a home. Their hearts were in the right place but their common sense was out the window.

And then, in concert with that, you deregulate large swaths of the lending/finance industry (repeal of Glass Steagall) and you might as well light it all on fire with a flamethrower.

And then we let them off the hook. God we're stupid some times.

An accountant who can't manage money. Dave Ramsey loves those types.

My wife's a CPA (not working in public accounting, but works in accounting) and has no idea what our checkbook situation is.

Dave Ramsey only works if there's a commitment. Until the chickens come home to roost, there is no commitment.

You've given a perfect example of why Trump has taken over the Republican Party from the Bush/Romney crowd. And actually, the ease in lending restrictions started with Clinton, but continues through Bush.

It's not that Bush and Romney aren't great guys - they are. They also want to be seen as do-gooders and end up being slightly more responsible Democrats.

Well for a few reasons:
  • They have a Mob mentality about issues
  • They don’t seek debate they seek silence
  • They have zero real world experience yet they think that what their professors and social media tell them is gospel
The extreme left is every bit as crazy as the extreme right.
They don’t seek debate they seek silence.

this professor was “openly anti-abortion” because she sent a tweet about being pro-life. Oh the horror of the safe space of these future ****ING doctors being destroyed! Run kids run!

Make that dozens of tweets, speeches, talks at national conferences, TV interviews, newspaper interviews, and actually serving as the founding director of the UM Medical School’s Program on "Health, Spirituality and Religion"

You make it sound like she once made some off-the-cuff remark and that's it. That's very very far from the truth.

And? So the f what. If you cannot stand to even hear someone with a counter opinion, you are a weak minded individual.

Her speech did not mention abortion either by the way.

Whaaaaa whaaaaa whaaaaaa. I’m a Michigan Med Student and that lady bigot can’t teach me anything or help me to inform my own opinion. Whaaaa whaaaa let’s run! Who’s with me?

So all that can be true and walking out on her because her views hurt their feefees is still what cowardly spoiled brats do.

It doesn’t hurt their feelings - they think they HAVE TO walk out. Their catchphrase is Silence is Violence.
There’s a bit of “if I don’t like it/agree with it I don’t have to deal with it”. One step below that is sticking you fingers in your ear and saying lalalalalalalalalalalalala over and over.

Protest is fine. This was just childish.

It would be one thing if it was a liberal arts school or some Woke bullshit program. But those are med students - supposed to be the brightest of the bright.

You could just say...

"yeah, I was wrong when I claimed that they walked out on her over a tweet "

Except that they WERE silent. They simply got up and left. No demonstrations or disruptions.

If Mas was giving a talk, would you sit through it?
I’ve always considered staring a hole through someone as protest enough. To each their own but getting up and leaving is the ultimate invalidation of her beliefs. They are saying they can’t even be in the presence of the person holding that belief. A physical separation from her is required.

That rubs me the wrong way. I’d listen to Mas just hoping for a Q & A at the end.

She’s a tenured professor and a physician. They are know-nothing students. Your analogy stinks.

And a mass walkout timed while she’s being introduced isn’t a disruption? You’re not serious.

Yeah, I figured you couldn't get such words out.
Your childish insistence on having to be right (about something) feeds your ego well. My misstating that she had a single tweet - which turns out not to be the case - is completely irrelevant to the intolerant and insolent behavior exhibited by a supposed gifted cohort of future doctors that will have to treat people of all walks of life.

that part doesn’t bother you - only that you had to be right about an insignificant facet of the story. Congrats Doctor.

you're being beyond naive, or very dishonest.

endorsing "free trade", is exactly and precisely how economic conservatives did "everything in their power to rid the country manufacturing jobs".

DUH!

as for Trump seeing this, yes he did, (even if he did almost nothing about it), after Bernie and non Wall St owned Dems had been preaching that for decades since Reagan, and even before.

as for trying to inject "wokeism" into 2008/2009, that's just going full crazyville.

not that Dems and Clinton, once also bought off by Wall St money as the Pubs had long since been, don't share guilt as well.

even if that guilt is far less than the Pub guilt, which led to the Dems being able to be bought by Wall St and big oil money as well in the first place..

Trumpers may grasp the economic problem, but they are totally brain dead to it's origin, or that Trump has their back on it.

Trump is in credit hell. he couldn't help with it even if he wanted to. (and he doesn't give a sht about Joe Worker, and never has).

Biden is compromised, by both Wall St and China.

so he can't help either.

and Wall St implanted SCOTUS traitors have made it nearly impossible for anyone to help, once they legalized money buying govt and policy.

leading to govt and policy immediately being bought by money. (wtf did they think would happen).
