That's what I am seeing also... it's like Microsoft Word.... I wish it had a big "Don't Help Me" button.I stopped using autocorrect for while because I found it messing up stuff more than fixing.
Except my post wasn't directed at you.Apparently you do. I didn't make the first childish statement , I merely responded to yours.
I’ll take a few of these on… No comment on deleted assertions.
moved our manufacturing base offshore, killing millions of good jobs, tax bases, and making us totally owned by China.
Corporate greed took manufacturing offshore: cheep Chinese labor v. US Payroll taxes, and access to a middle class market as big as the US’ are the two leading candidates, in my view. There are plenty of US companies, with large operations in China. Two notable with liberal leaning CEOs are Alphabet (Google) and Apple.
put people in jail and prison for pot, who have never hurt anyone or themselves, and thus driven the people to alcohol and other 10,000 times more dangerous drugs.
The ‘93 crime bill was lead by Joe Biden.
hurt corporate expansion and advancement by allowing the use of trillions in fed money to be used for stock buy backs instead of mandating it be put into, thus growing, the businesses.
For this to occur, Congress would have to pass a law and allocate funds. I don’t recall any such bill.
Chrysler and ‘Government Motors’ paid their loans back. Nor, do I recall dozens of Justice Dept. prosecutions for misuse of Government funds from the financial crisis.
On a more serious note, gun control advocates gutted the the NRA, but still can’t get enough votes to pass national legislation. Sounds more like sour grapes to me. In my opinion, Societal, Cultural, and Social problems have more to do with gun crimes than the guns (tools) themselves. How does legal gun ownership drive use of illegal guns in crimes.
lied us into 20 plus yrs of unnecessary war costing us trillions a yr that could have gone to far more useful things.
Lots of Democrats and Republicans agreed to 1) Liberate Kuwait, 2) Invade Afghanistan, 3) Invade Iraq. Members of Congress are expected to seek the truth, and vote in the best interest of the country. I think the better perspective now is lots of members both sides did their job poorly.
turned our media into nothing but propaganda machines.
Which media is our media? The left complains about Fox (mostly), and perhaps the NY Post. The right complains about MSMBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, Gannett, Wapo, and NYT. At worst, propaganda machines appear to be an equal opportunity participatory event, and not the fault of conservatives alone.
killed all privacy by allowing corps to spy on us non stop.
I’d say both parties did a poor job protecting personal privacy, against ‘Corporate Greed’
made whistle blowing against govt wrongdoing a crime with beyond absurd punishment for doing what's right and needed.
And whistle blown lies went unpunished. Shiff still has secret intelligence committee proof. At best we can agree that mudslinging has a storied legacy in US politics. Its delivery has become more sophisticated. I’d say Democrats attacks on whistle blowers and other political enemies were more punitive.
given us the unpatriotic Patriot Act,
The FISA court abuses in support of political goals, seeking warrants on a political campaign and its candidate starting in 2016, suggest this may have been a mistake. Let’s say Republicans shot themselves in the foot.
I don’t want the government involved at all.To be clear, I didn't dismiss Hunter's laptop as a conspiracy. I dismissed it as irrelevant.
That said, I understand your point, and it's valid, but what's the solution? DHS just ignores misinformation, and does nothing to counter it?
Do you ever do anything but deflect? You mean the biggest spreader of disinformation? And before you jump all over me how can you deny it when daily he talks about a stolen election that never was? If you believe him, then you don’t belong in this conversation.
He/she/they doesn't like it when you respond in kind.Apparently you do. I didn't make the first childish statement , I merely responded to yours.
You don't want the government involved with what? Let's go back to the first scenario that Mayorkas brought up in the hearings that started this whole hullaballoo.I don’t want the government involved at all.
That’s the problem. This scenario is like Harris yapping about the “root causes” of illegal immigration. We don’t stop human trafficking into the US by addressing the root cause of fraudulent misrepresentation about American policy. We stop it by finishing the wall, closing the border, making asylum seekers stay in their home country until their case is decided, and allowing the Border Patrol to actually patrol the border instead of staffing the welcome wagon tables. You don't want the government involved with what? Let's go back to the first scenario that Mayorkas brought up in the hearings that started this whole hullaballoo.
Human trafficking rings were spreading false information about American policies in Central America in order to entice people to avail themselves of their services to try to get into America illegally. You don't want the government - specifically DHS - involved in combating that? At all?
Seems to me exactly the kind of thing DHS should combat.
I love it. Even information about the existence of this tool is judged.Doing what, exactly?
The only actual information that's out there about this - which is almost none - doesn't bother me at all. Battling disinformation from human traffickers that they use to convince more desperate people to try to sneak into America? Of course, both parties should be all for that. Russian propaganda? Both parties should agree we need to combat that.
And then...well, that's it. There's literally nothing else out there about this except for speculation.
So what exactly am I supposed to be against? Big Brother? Of course I'm against Big Brother. But so far, Big Brother only exists in the fevered imaginations of right-wing pundits.
In other words, misinformation.
While a free and open internet may certainly facilitate abuse, it also represents one of the best ways for marginalized communities to offer and receive support.Biden blasted for policing free speech with ‘dystopian’ disinformation bureau
Some are suggesting the timing is convenient given Elon Musk vowed to make Twitter a free-speech haven after his $44 billion takeover.nypost.com
Under the loving auspices of the Homeland Security Dept. Headed by one of the foremost proponents of the 'Biden laptop is Russian disinformation' gang. What could go wrong?
Also don't like the looks of the international "Declaration for the Future of the Internet", also touted by the demented old fool.
That's a deflection. That’s the problem. This scenario is like Harris yapping about the “root causes” of illegal immigration. We don’t stop human trafficking into the US addressing the root cause of fraudulent misrepresentation about American policy. We stop it by finishing the wall, closing the border, making asylum seekers stay in their home country until their case is decided, and allowing the Border Patrol to actually patrol the border instead of staffing the welcome wagon tables.
Indeed it is. And a dangerous one. That's a deflection.
Jankowicz: “I shudder to think about if free speech absolutists were taking over more platforms, what that would look like for the marginalized communities all around the world… We need the platforms to do more, and we frankly need law enforcement and our legislatures to do more as well. And in other countries that are looking at this, you know, the U.K. has an online safety bill that’s being considered right now where they’re trying to make illegal this currently, quote, ‘awful but lawful content’ that exists online where people are being harassed.”I heard a report yesterday Nina Jankowicz was actually appointed weeks ago.
Exactly. What happens when this new entity is being run by say, a Ron DeSantis Administration. What would be your thoughts on its job then?
No government body should have the ability to determine what is and is not the truth….especially one headed by someone so hostile to free and unfettered speech. No, not even a whatabout. I tend to think that is something we should all ask ourselves on decisions like this. The motive behind it is to control information. I think the assumption is made that "my team" is going to be in charge of that (in most cases) because we are bad about viewing consequences down the road. So, what happens with this power when "my team" is not in charge?
It was the same thing with Musk taking over Twitter. For years the conservatives were complaining about being silenced and about a tech company controlling such a large piece of the public square. They got told to stuff it because private companies (controlled by leftists) could do whatever the hell they wanted to do. Then that paradigm flipped overnight and now that doesn't seem to be such a great idea to those same people. Democrats in Congress were wanting Musk to come and state his intentions before the ink had dried on the purchase agreement.
Think of how the rules will apply in the hands of your rivals and you tend to get more fair rules.
And that's an avoidance! Trying to be clever to avoid an actual response?Indeed it is. And a dangerous one.
No government body should have the ability to determine what is and is not the truth….especially one headed by someone so hostile to free and unfettered speech.
Swing and miss twice on the same pitch. The guy hostile to free speech (calling it fake news) is out of the White House now.. thank God.
I know a few who are posting here. Here's what we need...

You know his co-workers feel the same way.Nah, I just really dislike you.
If he's not retired or unemployed. You think he has any?
We're not concerned because we're not idiotic nutjobs. If you're actually worried about this, the problem isn't Biden. It's that you live in an Orwellian fantasy land. This Disinformation board that was actually put together by the Biden Admin doesn't concern anyone? I really don't understand all the people on the WC that thought under Trump these things would be happening when it was the furthest thing from the Trump admin. Now we have this, and all the other new govt. bodies which COH has pointed out that are total Authoritarian, Orwellian. I wake up daily wondering what in the hell happened to the USA. And everyone thinks this is ok. Its like we are in a re-education camp and with all the school stuff its evident! There is NO logical reason for this other than something is wrong folksies.
Says the mod who was going off on an essay about babies feeling pain in the womb the other night? You need to check yourself in. Seriously you have major issues. We're not concerned because we're not idiotic nutjobs. If you're actually worried about this, the problem isn't Biden. It's that you live in an Orwellian fantasy land.

It’s getting more difficult for you to defend the left’s view’s isn’t it? Idiotic nut job’s? Rachel Levine comes to mind! We're not concerned because we're not idiotic nutjobs. If you're actually worried about this, the problem isn't Biden. It's that you live in an Orwellian fantasy land.
The picture is becoming more clear as to why Goat defends this Disinformation board. Goats mad coz he wasn't selected for this position. He's been practicing here. OR maybe he has a crush on this Mary Poppins beeyayatch. It’s getting more difficult for you to defend the left’s view’s isn’t it? Idiotic nut job’s? Rachel Levine comes to mind!

IDK but I imagine every Gawd D*mned day must be hell for him knowing his party has f*cked up all through the day and night and there are a dozen new topics in which he has to duck from the incoming sh*tstorm thats being created. It must be hell to be a dem.
Newsflash if the economy, decisions (tons of them and 40 bil yesterday), gas prices, inflation, stocks tanking, wars, border and more was on Trumps team, I would have called for his head.
I analyze the facts...YOU follow the narrative. You should stop swallowing propaganda.
