If Trump is pushing him he must be the most phenomenal candidate in the history of NC
Forget for a second that the guy's a dirtbag. From a purely political standpoint, this is potentially disastrous for the Trump campaign as it almost certainly puts North Carolina in the "leans Harris" column.
It's called "reverse coattails," which will likely drive Dem turnout in NC.

Robinson makes Mastriano (the guy Shapiro beat in PA two years ago) look sane.
This could really hurt Trump. He needs NC and this will hurt him there. Could hurt him nationally too. Dems already have a national ad out that spells out Robinson’s affinity for raunchy (think perverted porn) followed by clip after clip praising Robinson’s greatness and even saying greater than MLK. It’s effective and highlights Trump’s poor judgement about people.

I don't even want to repeat some of the comments from the self-described "perv." Here are a few of the tamer ones:
- LGBTQ people are "maggots." (Apparently he's very much into the "T," though).
- "The Holocaust is hogwash."
- MLK Jr. was "a commie bastard." He also referred to him as "Martin Lucifer _____ [black slur that begins with "k"]."
- "Slavery is not bad . . . I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few."
- "I don't care [about a celebrity having an abortion]. I just wanna see the sex tape."
I can just hear Trump's excuses now:
I really can't remember who he was.
I don't think I ever met him.
I think he wasn't with us very long.
If it's who I think it is, he just brought the coffee for our meetings.
Some of those atrocious comments were made over a decade ago and it’s just now being made public? Oh, please, it must be getting close to election time. The Dems are digging deep now, pulling out all the stops.
Doesn’t detract from the fact that he said them. Guy is gone.

There is no hiding from this. They did a very bad job of vetting this guy. Or they didn’t vet him at all. He’s toast and might take down Trump in NC too.
We've all said things we regret. Most of us haven't said heinous and unforgivable things. Those comments are in the latter category.
So you're suggesting this was just some youthful indiscretion? Lol. Robinson was in his 40s when he wrote this hateful shit. Guy's a raging bigot and racist, and grossly hypocritical. This is all highly relevant to his candidacy.

Why would anyone have heard of him? He's been the NC Lt. Gov for 3 1/2 years, and before that he was literally nobody.

Dems smear his name in the mud whether truths, half-truths or lies. When smearing is organized, it’s a campaign and the Dems done got their selves in a big one!
