Not a great look for Joe and his Administration.

The Biden administration has quietly pushed more than a half-dozen countries to weaken, delay or rethink baby formula regulations aimed at protecting the public’s health — sometimes after manufacturers complained, a ProPublica investigation has found.

In the European Union, the U.S. opposed an effort to reduce lead levels in baby formula. In Taiwan, it sought to alter labeling that highlighted the health benefits of breastfeeding. And in Colombia, it questioned an attempt to limit microbiological contaminants — the very problem that shut down a manufacturing plant in Michigan in 2022, leading to a widespread formula shortage.

“Infant formula companies want to sell more infant formula,” said Marion Nestle, professor emerita of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University. “The idea that governments are aiding and abetting them in their commercial enterprise over the public health interest is really shocking to me.”

The pearl clutching in this statment is hilarious. And please tell me professor Nestle is somehow related to the family that owns Nestle (or did).

Shocking? Really?? Why would anyone be surprised by this? But sure Jan, let's deregulate.

"when did JDB start caring about abortion?

It's just farther down the things I care about. You probably know this, but I've always been Pro Choice. Part of my problem with the GOP and why I was critical after the SCOTUS decision. Had that not occurred, the GOP would be up several points in any key race right now.

Don’t people know that Trump is for abortion on demand for any reason at any time before birth? If that’s allowed in any state he’s good with it. He’s good with total bans too. Whatever the states want he’s supporting it.
Why do you think it should be a federal issue?

I don’t necessarily, but many MAGA were talking about a national ban not long ago.
It seems Trump’s position on abortion (as you framed it) would be the small government (historically Republican) position.

Why would you not be supportive of that position?

It’s not aimed at me. My post is about whether MAGA is good with Trump’s new position. My guess is many don’t know about the change.

Are you good with it?
I think abortion should be banned after a certain point (16 weeks or so) with very rare exceptions like physical danger to the mother, rape and incest. I’m not good with abortion on demand at any time before birth even if California, Hawaii or any state would like to allow it.

Those people and their director need to be permanently institutionalized

When normal porn just doesn't do the job anymore, try some good old fashioned Democrat fear porn...

I don't consider myself your version of what you seem to think of MAGA but I do plan to vote for Trump and I'd be amazed if others who plan to aren't aware of his stated policy of going along with the Supreme Court Decision to leave it up to the individual states... He's made it clear on multiple occasions...

If you live in a state where you simply can't live with what that legislatures policy is you can either fight it politically or move... Which is exactly how it should be...

Californians shouldn't be able to force their moral values on Hoosiers and vice versa... What's wrong with that?????
