China had been using vast sums to build infrastructure around the world, both to build goodwill and to get good trading terms with countries. I suspect conona will set that back somewhat.

It is often a human condition to cover up a mistake, I get that China had that desire. But it isn't leadership to try to sweep it under the rug. And worse, in some cases it is deadly to sweep it under the rug.
