They’re just one news site. If you’re not reading stuff from the left, right and center, you are willfully ignorant. Smart people know how to understand and tune out the bias and verify the actual news from these sources. I don't know, but everyone in DoD gets access so it's a lot. I assumed they have a similar service for others in government. It makes sense to have a well-informed workforce, though I know many never bothered to read any of it. I'd skim it and read articles of interest to me. Since they paid for the subscriptions, I'd get access to articles behind pay walls I wouldn't get otherwise, which is nice.

I'm only guessing on all this because I had nothing to do with putting it together, but I was an Early Bird user/reader my entire career. I'm sure the subscriptions had to be paid and I'm sure that there had to be a big group discount. I think it was/is an important service.

How could this part be a scandal? The Early Bird has been in existence for decades and there was nothing hidden about it. Millions and millions of people know of its existence. The format is the only change.
This might be why you were duped on the Biden laptop story. You have to be careful when reading state run media, occasionally they'll lie to you.
Subscriptions to media doesn't make it state run and I was never duped on the Biden laptop story.
