I think this is the problem scoring debates, we do not know what the targets are.
What was interesting to me is they gave Kamala 30 seconds and when she got into her tear-jerking story, they let her go like two minutes or so.
To me, at this point, it's all about introducing yourself, as a person, as a candidate, as a person who can think on their feet and so on, and a little bit in terms of your policy positions.
So far, Yang, Williamson, Swalwell, Hick, and Bennet have been busts.
If that's the point, I say Harris and Buttigieg are the big winners. Gillibrand is doing okay, I guess. Yang is the big loser. He needed tonight, and he's striking out.
Everyone else has performed as expected. Pete has solidified his upper tier stature.
And Trump pissed off how many millions of women when he said he just grabbed them by the p—y. But that’s ok. And if you were actually paying attention and being honest you know that’s not what she said. She said SOME. And that’s really hard to question considering the Nazis, Q, KKK, Proud Boys, and the other fringe groups that are the part of Trump’s base. Those are the deplorables she was referring to.
On the other hand, the Angry Biden that Harris woke up might be effective. Now that he's cooled off, he's still energetic, but he's giving better answers.
Plus Biden and Sanders re-introducing themselves as not over the hill.
I think you underestimate the power of no tie. That speaks volumes.
I'd recommend a polkadotted bow tie to counterbalance his thin forehead.
Winning at this point means staying in the race for the next debate. It winnows rapidly and ruthlessly. I'm still hoping Bullock works his way back in.
Not a surprise. Per 538, Biden, Harris, Buttigieg the clear winners of air time so far. Gillibrand, Sanders, Bennet in the second tier.
Bullock has no chance at all, but it's an absolute joke that Williamson is on this stage and he isn't.

Gonna play well in the primary, but yeah, GOP political operatives already have that clip saved in a file marked "DO NOT DELETE EVER."
All true and she didn't lose a single potential vote. Meanwhile she potentially gained millions of young votes.
