Apparently the Brits are astounded by the scope of Team BarrTrump's attempts to undermine the entire Mueller report...Some pretty frightening details in this investigative report...

"At the same time, overshadowed by the publicity around the impeachment, is the ever-broadening investigation by Attorney General William Barr which the White House sees as a game-changer. An investigation which is seeking nothing less than to overturn the conclusion of the US intelligence services and Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Russia interfered in the last US presidential election.

This has now been designated a criminal investigation with power of subpoena and the possibility of prison sentences for those who have been allegedly involved in criminal actions, although exactly what these criminal actions entail remains unclear.

It may also seem odd that Trump, having repeatedly claimed that the Mueller report was a “complete and total exoneration” of him over Russiagate, is now going to such lengths to try and discredit it."

Some of the more interesting revelations... Nunes sent staffer's to Steele's firm in 2016 to try and intimidate him and prevent him from cooperating with Mueller's investigation. Nigel Farage visited Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy shortly after a 2017 trip to the US. Part of the tinfoil hat element of the "crowdstrike" lunacy theory maintains that it is a Ukranian-owned company, when in fact the owner is a Russian Emigre who fled the USSR and is an American citizen... It seems as if Barr is as looney as Trump...

And now we see what may be the ultimate goal behind Trump's attempts to go after Biden and reform minded Ukranians... An attempt to rehabilitate Manafort...

"Sweeping changes to Ukraine's top law enforcement agency ordered by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy are set to derail a series of long-running criminal investigations, including two related to U.S. President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, three current and former Ukrainian prosecutors told Reuters.

The reorganization, which includes fresh leadership for the agency and mandatory skills testing for prosecutors, represents an upheaval of Ukraine's General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), one of the most powerful bodies in the country, and one that has long been the target of criticism."

Assuming this is true; what's the solution when the Attorney General is as corrupt as the president?

Lock himself up? Otherwise, you just have to face it, American Exceptionalism was always jingoistic BS.
Just needed the right set of tools to debunk it and what's clear now, not very sharp ones either.

Not sure he's done anything illegal, at least not yet. He's just doing whatever keeps him in Trump's good graces.

I currently rank him right up there with McConnell among the most despicable public figures of my lifetime.

At some point I hope we'll learn exactly why the President of the United States behaves like Putin's stooge.

If you think about it, asking the Brits to undermine the Mueller investigation isn't that much different from asking the Ukrainians to undermine the 2020 election.

Trump could have American investigative services do the "investigations," but ultimately he's not really interested in results -- he's just interested in (1) undermining Mueller and Biden, (2) creating extra work and expense for them and (3) since investigations rarely develop evidence that is 100% in favor of only one position, cherry-picking any resulting evidence or allegations to create talking points that confuse the issues in his favor.

Remember the British ambassador who was fired for criticizing Trump? He just said what everyone thinks. Can you imagine what everyone around the world really thinks of what he is doing?

What is needed to undermine Trump is an indisputable issue that doesn't merely prove Trump's positions are wrong or that Trump is a liar or that Trump is an idiot or that Trump says stupid things.

The issues closest to my description that I can think of relate to farming or rust belt union workers, and you may recall some recent interviews with farmers and union workers where they said they were getting screwed by Trump's actions (not just his policies or statements). The trouble is there aren't many farmers or union workers left in the world and Trump's screwing of them doesn't really affect a very big pct. of people.

It appears all of it will come down to the Judiciary. Everything.
The courts can't initiate anything, and neither can the legislature against the AG. No choice but to just hang tough and hope to minimize the damage.

Article II, Section 4

The reason I say it will fall on the Judiciary is because changing the current dynamic between Republicans in the Senate and public sentiment will be impossible if the SCOTUS allows the Executive to ignore subpoenas for witnesses and documents. I don't think our democracy can survive without those checks and balances. That's why I said, "Everything".
