Understood. I don't think that legislation making contraceptives legal will follow all that quickly, at least not until we've proved Churchill right again (The US always does the right thing . . . after they've tried everything else).I don't have a problem overturning Griswold because I think it would quickly be followed by legislation making contraceptives legal (and I think they should be legal).
I don't think the pill is going anywhere. I am a social con and the position it should be illegal is a minority position among us as well.
Caveat: I am not a lawyer and I am not going to be able to get into a deep discussion about legal theory with you. I mean this with no ill intentions, I think lawyers and judges definitely have their place in our world, BUT...but I think that they overly complicate things way too often.
Proof please that the president is stealing . . . .So Biden’s character doesn’t matter? I get it, 50 years in DC living off the government tit and what he can steal while there is normal.
Solid troll.man I hate we are losing Trevor Noah soon.Trevor Noah on Herschel Walker: ‘Just give him a certificate that says honorary senator’
While other late-night shows are on break, Trevor Noah mocks the US Senate candidate from Georgia for flashing an honorary sheriff’s badge in a debatewww.theguardian.com
Stealing wrong word. Financial transactions he’s not disclosing. Proof? Only the FBI and Justice can tell us and they don’t seem to care about what whistleblowers say they have.Proof please that the president is stealing . . . .
Now do the Republicans, banning books, taking away women’health choices, attacking LGBTQ, trying to dictate what is taught in public schools, participating in The Big Lie and trying to overturn our democracy, selling out any type of integrity by bowing to their corrupt leader Trump, even though they admit he is absolutely inept and stupid. And many more. And you can find millions of men and especially women who feel exactly the same way.He makes the point I was making up above.
I will not vote for a Democrat again (I have done it in the past, though extremely rare and never at the national level) until they jettison the far left idiots that have seized control of the party. Like not even for dog catcher. I won't use hate, but I have a strong dislike for the social issues left. Strong.
Walker is no more a sicko than the twerking state rep, the governor candidate (among others) who is ok with abortion up to the point of birth, the rep who thinks kids should be taken from parents who don't want them to mutilate themselves, the Governor who will make his state a "sanctuary" so they can do it, those who want to push the mainstreaming of this and other sexuality in schools, etc., etc.
I took issue with the "sicko", not his point. Walker seems like an asshole in his private life, but all I need him to do is not be a vote in favor of the things I listed above. That is Maher's point. I won't use hate for myself, but there are an awful lot of people who HATE what the Democrats have been turned into. And you can find poster men, women, and its all over the internet for why.
Shirley, it's not over yet.

Absolutely ridiculous. Conservatives are the ones trying to dictate the way we live. From what books we can read, to who we can marry, to what we teach in schools, to what women do with their bodies. I just read an article about a bunch of conservatives trying to get a mural taken down in a school because there someone had a rainbow flag and other things they disagreed with. Talk about cancel culture. What a hypocritical post. Oh forgot, and some of them want to go after birth control. But live and let live, right? No. You want to know why? For the most part most of us just want to kind of be left to our own devices to live how we want to live. You included. You know who doesn't ascribe to that? Progressives. And right now, it isn't Dick Gephardt and Evan Bayh and/or people like you who are pushing the legislative narrative from the left. It is "Progressives". And modern "Progressives" are not capable of live and let live. You MUST be in lock step with them. The "Woke" movement, modern "Cancel Culture", these are currently of the left.
They are Russia and we are Ukraine. Any hostility going back that direction is deserved.
Damn, you're a walking cliche. You have hit all the talking points in your last 2 posts.Absolutely ridiculous. Conservatives are the ones trying to dictate the way we live. And Pat Buchanan … I was a Republican , just because my parents were growing up. Then they started all the social issues and I quickly changed parties, as did my parents. I think that era was the beginning of the social wars. I didn’t know enough about economic policies, and I don’t think many people actually do. But I did know I didn’t believe in their social wars and discrimination they were preaching.Yep, and he was old and had dementia . . . but he got the ball rolling on the social issues. Up to then we left well enough alone. Then Reagan figured that if he'd just agree to enter the bedroom and raise hell about what had been considered a privacy issue, he could get political support for that. And we've had nothing but trouble since then.
And don't get me started on Reagan breaking open the national piggy bank with his tax cuts . . . .
Because guess what, Danny, they aren’t cliches, they are true. How many examples you want to see? You guys cry about one or two examples of trans athletes or something and then ignore the policies that are the basis of the GOP right now.Damn, you're a walking cliche. You have hit all the talking points in your last 2 posts.
Todd Rokita enters the chat…I think we all do what you said in the first paragraph. I can give you a whole host of things I think went incorrect on the right as well, particularly with regard to the economic health of the country.
I can only directly vote for one of the people you mentioned and he isn't my choice the next go around. My representatives are Victoria Spartz, Mike Braun, and Todd Young. You probably would not agree with them on much but none of those 3 are extreme and they are who I can (and have) voted for. My point on Walker is that in order for people like those 3 to get things done, it is generally more beneficial to have GA pick a Walker than it is to have a Warnock there. Legislatively I think Walker provides nothing but a vote. Warnock is a negative.
Indiana doesn't generally send the crazy to Washington. Even when we disagree guys like Bayh and Donnelly aren't nuts. Braun and Young and Pence are standard Republicans. We have our house as clean as we can. You Georgians need to get on the ball. 😜
Wait. You’re asking why I’m referencing Trump in a thread about Walker’s senatorial candidacy? You’re joking, right?Preeminent? Are you shitting me? It’s a clown show. All you have to do is watch the democrat hearings. F’n clowns!!
Why do you keep bringing up Trump? He’s not in office and won’t be in the future. Let’s keep the discussions on your clowns running this shit show. Head clown is a demented old white man spelling DOT for us off a teleprompter.
You think it’s a problem because you find a couple of libertarians who have critiques. Yet what do you make of the numerous prominent Republicans who have left the party because of Trump? From Michael Steele, Ana Navarro, Nichole Wallace, Joe Walsh, Rick Wilson, Steve Scmidt, and on and on. I know, just Rinos…..Ronald Reagan left office 32 years ago. We are talking the here and now. Every issue you can say that the social right is up in arms about right now is because of a push against the status quo. Abortion, schools, gender, sexuality, views on race, etc. are all a reaction to the far left. They push the ball. Always. Never stops.
"We got gay marriage, now let's have men dressed like strippers reading books to kids and doing what amounts to burlesque shows in school. We have that, now let's wipe out centuries of language and let people pick pronouns and do away with mothers and call them birthing people. We cannot define women anymore. Saying you are colorblind is now racist. You must agree that minorities need to be segregated from whites at times in order to process their trauma or else you are racist."
That isn't social conservatives and that sure as hell wasn't Reagan. That is the whackadoodle nonsense that used to percolate on college campuses amongst the highly "educated" do nothing class that has leaked out into the mainstream. Those types need to be shoved back to the fringes instead of having "The Message" everywhere people go.
Respectfully, when guys like Dave Chappelle or Bill Maher become too "conservative" for the left, it isn't the right that has the problem.
Want the banned book list from school libraries? Includes several classics,Who is "we?" What books have conservatives dictated you cannot read?
Let’s see your work then. Which would you like to take issue with and I’ll be happy to show you mine. What a litany of lies.

That has to be the saddest list of “prominent republicans” I have ever seen. I’ll admit I had to google pretty much every one of them. A collection of Lincoln project grifters who were absolute nobodies pre-Trump, hosts for daytime talk show “The View”, and cable news analysts/ contributors. Maybe about 5 years of actual government experience combined among the bunch. You think it’s a problem because you find a couple of libertarians who have critiques. Non responsive? Where did I say they banned books from ME? I merely listed banned books as one one of the many ways Republicans are intrusive into people’ lives. Don’t blame me for what you read into my post. To answer your question I’d give a very wide leeway on what is age appropriate .That's nonresponsive. What books have conservatives dictated you cannot read?
As for selecting books for a school library, do you acknowledge age appropriateness as a method of selecting books in a school library? If so, you, too want to "ban" books from school libraries, don't you?
You also, no doubt want to "ban" books based on content unless you advocate the inclusion of Little Black Sambo in elementary school libraries?
This is exactly why I pushed back on the use of the word "ban" to describe what was happening with these curriculum and school library choices (e.g. Maus, which I read after it was supposedly "banned"). We now have adults blindly repeating and actually thinking that people are actively banning books. Ugh.
Lol. Aren’t you the one that mentioned TWO people as a problem? I merely mentioned more than two. https://www.pewresearch.org/politic...ening-party-gap-in-presidential-job-approval/Try about a million more.
More than 1 million voters switch to GOP, raising alarm for Democrats
The phenomenon is playing out in virtually every region of the country — red states, blue states, in cities and in small towns — in the months since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.www.pbs.org
If you had to google any of them you don’t follow politics very closely. Former head of the Republican Party? Campaign mangers of presidential candidates? Ok then…lSpeaking of dumb, if you don’t know those people you probably shouldn’t be on a political forum. Is this really the political news diet that you
consume? It has to be if you think the people you listed are in anyway “prominent”
Stop. It’s making you dumber.
You said it right here, post #575:Non responsive? Where did I say they banned books from ME? I merely listed banned books as one one of the many ways Republicans are intrusive into people’ lives. You responded to my first post where I merely listed banned books. You said it right here, post #575:
"Conservatives are the ones trying to dictate the way we live. From what books we can read, to who we can marry, to what we teach in schools, to what women do with their bodies."
I then asked in post #576,
(emphasis added). And here is your response: "Want the banned book list from school libraries? Includes several classics,"
I think my reading of your posts was pretty reasonable.
I thought you were going to 'show your work'?Lol. Well then you’re too ignorant to even acknowledge what the party you support is doing.
'some places'? So if they're banned in one place, you can read it in another. Each of these books have been challenged or banned in some places.Challenged & Banned Books List
Discover our list of the top banned & challenged books from today and the past at Barnes & Noble. Read our wide list of books that were banned, censored, or forbidden.www.barnesandnoble.com
Now on to the larger point: EVERYONE wants to limit what is read in school libraries and in school curriculums. That is not the same as "banning books." Banning books means you don't want ANYONE to read them or it means you will censor or punish those that do.You said it right here, post #575:
"Conservatives are the ones trying to dictate the way we live. From what books we can read, to who we can marry, to what we teach in schools, to what women do with their bodies."

Pick one. I’m not spending an hour looking up stuff that is obvious to everyone, and easily googled.I thought you were going to 'show your work'?
