I have a feeling this is only the start, as Mitch’s email was sent earlier today. It will likely cost Purdue money and students from China. If it does, so be it.

Plenty of other worthy enrollees in the mix, including international students. I'd consider it China's loss as Purdue is a Top 10 engineering institution.

The best case will be if other universities follow suit.

Surprisingly, Purdue only has about 200 students from China this year. I would have thought it’s 10x that number.

A few decades ago the father-in-law of my nephew who was a renowned nuclear physicist at Notre Dame offered students a lucrative scholarship to anyone qualified and willing to attend Notre Dame.

Much to his surprise those applying were mostly from China.

Since then the steady growth of science and engineering college graduates in China has resulted in China having far more graduates than the U.S.
