Kind of confused about this. Do seniors get another year of eligibility? IU loses Whop, Fryfogel, Ziemba. Not sure who else, but love to have Fryfogel back for 2021.

Every player gets a free year and the scholarship limits are increased as well, but just for one year (unless the ncaa changes that).

It’s an odd situation that’s going to have a huge impact from Bama/Clemson to Marion as you will theoretically have an entire extra class year for the next five years, but within two years the same scholarship limits. A lot of good players will be dropping to lower tier programs. I understand they wanted to protect current athletes but the current rule seems to throw HS recruits under the bus. Obviously this won’t happen but in theory every college senior could stay another year and college football would not even need a ‘21 class.

The same thing is happening in volleyball, which potentially (negatively) impacts my family.

The NCAA could expand limits for 4 years but those scholarships cost athletic depts. a lot of money and you still have to deal with Title 9 and all that.
