IU Targets in the Portal Discussion Thread (UPDATED 4/25)

No that ship sailed awhile ago. Something happened but the announcement isn’t happening yet from what I can tell. @Cavanagh might know.
Sounds like Ware is still planning on visiting Alabama tomorrow as scheduled. A few “insiders” commented that the visit went well yesterday (and by all accounts it did) and then the second hand people with big platforms extrapolated that to meaning an imminent commitment.

Don’t blame Ware at all for exploring all his options (it’s his decision after all) but still think IU sits in pretty good shape. If more than just Alabama gets involved and/or this drags out more than week, sure then start to worry, but I think IU is in a good position here.

I heard he’s down to this last visit and the decision is coming after.

Updated original posts with new names and videos. 10 targets lists (Love and Battle deleted).

I'm sure most of the communications where just attempts to gauge interest. Casting a wide net is smart of Alabama. Nothing wrong with a shotgun approach, especially when time is of the essence.

It was a weird year too. COVID prematurely ended the state tournament. Ivey likely would have won it that year had he not elected for a prep school. Plenty of talent in that state that year. Galloway, Leal, Nijel Pack, Dre Davis, Tony Perkins, etc
and every guy you mentioned has been more successful than Leal. Maybe the ones giving the award is premature in their choices.

We did reach out to him-----Cryer---no indication it went anywhere.
Knecht and a good point guard/shooter back up in case of any X injuries down the road would be a great finish. You saw the difference when X went down. IU needs a plan other than a frosh point guard.

Monvalleys ignorance is top notch.

The '23 class has long been projected as weak sauce.

Getting a current soph or junior through the portal who have 2 years of eligibility remaining continues to strengthen the base of a program.

Guy seems salty PU doesn't have the NIL $ to attract or retain free agent talent.
He is also salty that the pushover coaches are gone. What we are truly seeing is fear. Fear, that the giant is finally on the precipice of waking up. Then Purdue will not only have no tournament success to hang their hat. They likely won’t be sniffing any B1G titles anytime soon. He is also trying to deflect from their historic loss to FDU. Not only a 1 seed loss, but to a team that technically wasn’t even good enough to be a 16 seed.

Imagine being in the middle of arguably the greatest 5-6 year run in your programs history and at the end of the day all that it is remembered by is consecutive losses to North Texas and St. Peter's?
Then you get to throw in the historic loss this season as a 1 seed to a not really even good enough to be a 16 seeded FDU.

They still have no clue who, what, how NIL works. UK fans too. They still think they have a money advantage and that just isn’t true. NIL is wild and IU in basketball anyway will be top 10 every year.

If you follow socian media, lots of optimism about Ware and Ledlum, and possibly Deloach.

The Deloach thing is puzzling. If we add Ware and Ledlum to Sparks and Malik, we don't need Deloach, who is an energy big who cannot stretch the floor. I pray Deloach is just an insurance play.

We need one impact shooting guard, and possibly two.

In the big ten? Haven’t won anything in a long time

This would be strange. IU needs guards and more guards

There are tweets that say all three are expected to announce for IU, which would leave one more spot open for a guard if it’s all true.
They are repeating one post. I’d be surprised if we get all 3. Ware of course and Ledlum has multiple to IU tweets but Deloach is on one tweet from a guy with 189 followers. That’s why I’m hesitant

This one?

Hadn’t seen that one. Still surprised at that. Crazy times.
If you click on the tweet you’ll see a number of tweets with players going to various programs, including Ware and Ledlum to IU, too. Who knows whether this site is reliable.
