Biden wouldn’t have done better. And that’s what matters.
Of course Biden would have done better. Biden was aware (because he READS) of the sorry state of US Pandemic preparedness in Oct 2019. WAPO published this on Oct 24,2019...

After an
Ebola epidemic devastated West Africa in 2014, many countries took steps to boost their preparedness. But even as the risk of such outbreaks increases, no country — the United States included — is fully prepared to respond to a deliberate or accidental threat with the potential to wipe out humanity, according to a
report assessing the efforts of 195 countries.
The report, released Thursday, is the first comprehensive assessment of global health capabilities, giving countries an
overall score based on several measures. Unlike other ratings, the Global Health Security Index benchmarks health security in the context of tools critical to fighting outbreaks, such as robust health systems, adherence to global norms, and political and security risks, including public confidence in government.
The
United States does well in five of six preparedness categories but ranks 19th — after Australia, Canada, Singapore and more than a half-dozen European countries — in an assessment of overall risk and vulnerability to biological threats. The factors driving down the U.S. score include the risks of social unrest and terrorism, and low
public confidence in government. Liechtenstein ranked No. 1 on this measure."
On Oct 25 (the next day) Biden followed up demonstrating his knowledge on the subject. Trump tweeted a whine to Tim Cook about the iphone no longer having a "home" button.
Biden was part of the Admin that left a Pandemic preparedness plan in place, so it takes a pretty high level of stupid to claim that either Biden (or Clinton) wouldn't have followed the policy they were a part of implementing.
Another thing Biden would not have done was to make crucial budget cuts in the pandemic budget in order to divert those funds to "the wall". KH let Pence off the hook a little on Trump removing Dr Quick in July, a mere 4 mos or so before the COVID outbreak in China.
She brought it up, but didn't really press him on the hypocrisy of whining about not being able to have first hand observation in China. Again the FACT is the US HAD an EMBEDDED observer IN CHINA until Trump cut her position in July 2019...
"Trump Administration Eliminated CDC Position Intended To Detect Disease Outbreaks In China Several Months Ago
Dr. Linda Quick left amid a bitter U.S. trade dispute with China when she learned her federally funded post, officially known as resident adviser to the U.S. Field Epidemiology Training Program in China, would be discontinued as of September. Meanwhile, a government watchdog is assessing HHS' response to the coronavirus outbreak, amid criticism that early missteps exacerbated the pandemic.
Experts including one former official who held that position told the news service that Quick, were she still in her position, would have had the opportunity to receive warning and information about the coronavirus outbreak possibly sooner than U.S. and other global health experts did. “It was heartbreaking to watch,” Bao-Ping Zhu, the former CDC official who held the role between 2007-2011, told the news agency. “If someone had been there, public health officials and governments across the world could have moved much faster.” (Bowden, 3/22)"

I've got much more to prove your claim is ridiculous. You on the other hand try and claim that somehow a "ban" on flights from China saved lives. The problem is plenty of countries in Asia did NOT ban China travel, but rather just adopted sensible measures to deal with the virus, like observation/quarantine and very importantly CONTACT TRACING and mask-wearing that Trump was reluctant to implement.
So if Trump's China ban "saved lives", how come the US has far more deaths than EVERYWHERE? I could have named any country, but for this particular example, we'll stick with the heavily populated countries near China like Singapore, S Korea, and Japan for starters?
