DeSantis kicks Special Olympics ass

It is his law.

Let me ask this, is it time to wipe out all vaccine mandates? Why or why not? If one cannot require COVID vaccines, why measles or mumps?
MMR still has a place — German measles is known to result in birth defects.
DPT as well — Pertussis (whooping cough) has high mortality rates too. (Many (many) times higher than COVID)
— Lock Jaw (Tetanus) can be a killer too.
Polio — may be in play again with all the immigrants.
It’s not a good time to give these up.

I would agree. I just suspect Freedom! is rapidly coming to mean people can choose these risks.

Such a douchebag.

Are you suggesting that the SO violate state law and everyone look the other way? Do you believe laws are open to your interpretation and are malleable based on time time and circumstance?

Grow the hell up Mark. I’m half your age. But you’re a child.

I think he's suggesting that DeSantis is a douchebag. That's not impacted by any law Florida passes. ;)

The law. Whether you and Mark agree with it or not. Was voted on by the duly elected representatives of Florida and signed into law by their Governor.

The SO knowingly was going to bypass that law. The state of Florida sent them a letter of warning. And you come here and cry.

Laws aren’t always just, but they are to be followed. This is a civil society, in which rule
of law still exists.

You can also grow up, along with your buddy Mark.

I didn't come here and cry. I came here to give Ranger a little grief for being dickish and to clear up what Mark was saying.

Oh yeah...and to talk about Alvin and the Chipmunks.

You keep saying a lot of stuff, but none of it has anything to do with Desantis being a douche. No one seems to be willing to make an argument countering that. ;)

He’s campaigning. There has never been someone running a political campaign, in the history of the world, that’s hasn’t been a douche.

Bush: Folksy, trust fund douche
Obama: Manipulative (of morons) douche
Trump: NYC douche
Biden: Dumb, faux sincerity, douche

The DeSantis juggernaut is headed for the Oval Office and we should all be relieved. Competence has returned, sentence structure has returned.

And I thought Obama and Trump were both good presidents . But they were both grade a douche bags.

So, if you agree that Desantis is a douche, does that mean @UncleMark Mark doesn't have to grow up anymore? :)

Using public your public platform to highlight your win over the Special Olympics in the name of anti-Covid laws makes you a douche, agreed.

It is no where near outside the norm. And DeSantis actually has the truth on his side.

Governor Overreach is getting plenty of well-deserved blowback for both his rhetoric and some of the laws that he's pushed through. His path to the Oval Office will not be nearly as smooth as you suggest.

Even the 11th Circuit recently declared that he went too far with respect to 2021 legislation that was intended to punish social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook for what DeSantis argued was the stifling of conservative thought. The court found the law to be an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment. "Put simply, with minor exceptions, the government can't tell a private person or entity what to say or how to say it," said Circuit Judge Kevin Newsom, an appointee of Trump, in the opinion. "We hold that it is substantially likely that social media companies — even the biggest ones — are private actors whose rights the First Amendment protects."

More recently, he's retaliated against the Tampa Bay Rays for issuing a statement against gun violence and calling for legislative change. DeSantis characterized that speech, which is pretty vanilla and aligns with the sentiments of the majority of Americans, as "political activism." Guy is scary controlling and vindictive.

I wish I was down there. I love the espn facilities and would enjoy checking out some of the games. World games I think are next summer.

Weird twist of fate I'm home and my stoker is with her friends seeing Styx and Reo. Of the entire crew I bet they can't name one song by either band nor would recognize any of them if they were in line at the grocery store
My first few days on Wissler 3 I remember REO Ridin the Storm Out booming from the room across the hall and the smell of pot slipping out from under the door. The boy from little ole Odon Indiana knew he wasn’t in Kansas anymore. 😂

What is wrong with Kansas, they are one of my favorite groups. :)

And my golden puppy is from Odon.

Nothing wrong with Kansas. Lol. Actually love their music. Weeks after figuring out I wasn’t in Kansas anymore, I was talking smack while playing basketball at the Hyper Building. The guy I was throwing in bombs on didn’t appreciate my mouth. One punch and I was out like a light. No more chirping while playing basketball and a reminder I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. 😂

Our community gets a bad rap sometimes for puppy mills. Most of the Amish breeding dogs treat the dogs like members of the family. In the early days many years ago, one guy got caught in a PETA Sting. The video went viral for awhile and gave the Amish a bad name.

Never. And yes he’s a royal douchebag.
Covid is, on average, much more serious for individuals with developmental disabilities, yet the state of Florida doesn’t give a shit. On top of that, many of these individuals are not the ones deciding whether they get vaccinated.
I don't see any requirement that prevents an athlete from getting the vaccine.

Seems overly cautious to me. But getting an x ray doesn’t leave one feeling like shit for 1-3 days and provides definitive proof of what the team doc needs to see.

A COVID vaccination provides life saving therapeutic benefit for those at risk but affords little protection against the spread. Especially the contagious and less dangerous variants.
"life saving therapeutic benefit for those at risk"....

Other than those dying of blood clots, cardiac arrest, etc.

There's even a new term; 'Sudden Adult Death Syndrome....'

And we've only just begun to see the results of this 'vaccine' upon the health of those unfortunate lemmings who got the jabs..

“New term”? “SADS” (the term) has been around for decades and has no connection to the Covid vaccine. None. Don’t believe me? Here’s a paper from 2005. So stop with this nonsense.

Yes but you replied to the idea that Styx and REO suck donkey balls.
ROFL yep. I was posting from my phone and things got all messed up. Ironically, I was posting during a lull in the action at my son’s baseball game (Little League Challenger Division, not SO). Was taking pictures from the third base coaches box and my son drilled me in the foot. After that, it was as if every kid was aiming at me.

That's awesome! Puppies are horrible. Teeth like razors! Cry. So hard. But it passes quickly
Can’t imagine a puppy in our house. Only two dogs we’ve had were already trained. First one was a service dog flunk out. He would have made for a memorable service dog had they kept him in. Great dog but had a wild streak. Current dog was a rescue. She’s a sweet, gentle dog - unless you’re a squirrel, mole or rabbit. I think she’s got at least 5 notches on her collar.

I've never heard of Odon, but looking at a map, it's not terribly far from Gosport, where Mrs O and I had a cabin on Lake Hollybrook 25 years ago. We loved that place so much - even kept it for 3 years after we moved to Minnesota, but finally sold it because it became too much to maintain from 12 hours away.

Still loved that area - remember going to the drive in just outside of Gosport on 67 just east of 231 to see Armageddon with Little O and our niece (summer of '98). Neither had been to a drive in movie before, and they were captivated by the entire experience. They still talk about it at family gatherings.

Good times - except for the time we got lost around Stinesville .....

Rescues are always the way to go.
We're on our second rescue, got both as pups (8 - 12 weeks old), the first lived to 12 before we had to put him down, the second just turned 10. Both Shepherd mixes, and both literally the sweetest dogs you've ever met ..... that sound like they'd rip your throat out (that Shepherd mix thingie) when they get excited.

We'll always have a dog, and it'll always be a rescue.

Odon population maybe 1200. Bloomington about 40 miles northwest of Odon. Pretty area around the lake property you owned.

Growing up Drive In Theaters were spaced around in small communities. Took many dates to Drive Ins. They’re all gone.

Our last several were rescues and they have been great. For some reason my wife wanted a purebred this time.
I know. And that's hard too. I'm obsessed with English Bulldogs and have had four. They should have never been bred to look like they do. I contribute to the problem. I'll never forget I went to the bulldog rescue in Miami and I was looking around as my best friend called. I told him where I was and when he asked if I was going to rescue one I told him no "they look all f*ucked up." Lol. You aren't going to get a good line there and I want(ed) it to look just right lol. Ugh. But we also always do rescues of "regular" dogs too. I will always have dogs, even tho they are a pain.

We've rescued a ton of bunnies too. They are miserable pets. Balls of shit everywhere.

My son and his wife have a bulldog. They had only been dating less than a month when they bought one together in a Terre Haute Pet Shop returning from a concert in Indy. My son called me after the fact and asked for a raise in his allowance for a credit card payment. I had a melt down. I asked for the amount he owed and paid it off. Lol.

Oh and the maintenance on those damn dogs is absurd. So many problems. And they're dumber than hell. But so sweet and easy. Limited exercise. Just sit with ya while you work

The dog is lovable. They have short lives? They had added a Newfypoo that is crazy with energy.

I’m dog sitting a 12 year old deaf and blind bulldog. Have to make vibrations to let her know I’m there so she doesn’t bite me. Then have to drag her outdoors! 😎
