Seems overly cautious to me. But getting an x ray doesn’t leave one feeling like shit for 1-3 days and provides definitive proof of what the team doc needs to see.Noodle's post, "My kid has to get a neck X-ray to swim butterfly"
For sure but I presume it's akin to the return to play protocol in soccer. That doctor's note for concussions is to protect the club from liability. I don't see the connection to a vax that has a broader, different mission. Admittedly I'm day drinkingX-rays carry legitimate risk, particularly if you’ve had more than the typical amount in your lifetime.
Good grief. The neck x-Ray is to check for a specific skeletal condition frequent in people who have Down syndrome. One that could result in paralysis if not detected and too much pressure is put on the neck (ie swimming butterfly). Science. Again.Seems overly cautious to me. But getting an x ray doesn’t leave one feeling like shit for 1-3 days and provides definitive proof of what the team doc needs to see.
A COVID vaccination provides life saving therapeutic benefit for those at risk but affords little protection against the spread. Especially the contagious and less dangerous variants.
Ooh a double “you don’t believe in the science.” How convincing - and interesting. You must be a helluva debater. A regular Gore Vidal. Or a COVID Shaman. If an athlete doesn’t want to be vaccinated no one is forcing them to. No one. But if SO wants to prohibit them from participating in the USA Games why in the hell should they not be able to? There is no fundamental right to participate in the event. You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth. And yes, it is lame that you clearly don’t believe in the science.
oh, and an x-Ray is absolutely invasive.
Well that makes perfect sense and I didn’t know that. Good info, even with your smug arrogance that is unbecoming of you usually. Maybe you can just **** right off with your emotional shit?Good grief. The neck x-Ray is to check for a specific skeletal condition frequent in people who have Down syndrome. No. Noodle is personally vested. I totally get it. DeSantis is wrong. There's no telling what "condition" someone may enter these games and endanger another athlete. If a 501C3 wants to require mandates it should be no business of the gov. And Ranger you and I are congruent on most stuff but DeSantis is wrong here. It's the opposite coin of Biden's attempted overreach.Well that makes perfect sense and I didn’t know that. Good info, even with your smug arrogance that is unbecoming of you usually. I get he’s personally vested. It doesn’t change that the vaccine is affording marginal - at best - protection against catching the virus and making it required is just as political as is banning the requirement (a la DeSantis).No. Noodle is personally vested. A bit hyperbolic but what if the vaccine prevents 5 percent spread. And a vulnerable athlete falls into that group. It could prevent an athlete from getting really sick. If a not for profit wants to do that what business is it of gov. The balance is theoretically a person potentially getting sick, at any percentage of likelihood, versus a person who doesn't want a vax being deprived of playing a sport.I get he’s personally vested. If an athlete is in a physical state that catching the virus truly endangers them then even participating is a major risk for which the rest of the participants being vaccinated doesn’t resolve. Testing, bubbles, etc can be the way - mandating a vaccine isn’t.
The bigger issue is to the unvaccinated person because of how the games operate. The athletes live independently in dorms for the week. No parents with them in the dorms and not constant supervision. These are individuals who often do not live so independently. A severe Covid case In an unvaccinated person at a significantly greater risk of death. And now it’s all on SO to deal with it. It’s asinine to say they can’t require vaccination.A bit hyperbolic but what if the vaccine prevents 5 percent spread. And a vulnerable athlete falls into that group. And I'm with you. Vax are political footballs. But gov intervention should be consistent on both sides of the playing field. Otherwise it's just more virtue signaling. Let individuals and private organizations decide
But I’m sure Ranger will say they shouldn’t require the athletes to live in the athlete village apart from their families, etc. Or, if they get sick while there, it’s on them (the athlete)? The bigger issue is to the unvaccinated person because of how the games operate. That's the problem when you enact a state law without carveouts. No distinction between the Ale House and SOBut I’m sure Ranger will say they shouldn’t require the athletes to live in the athlete village apart from their families, etc. Or, if they get sick while there, it’s on them (the athlete)?
It’s no different than the Covid vaccine. The neck x-Ray is to help avoid a serious health problem while they are at the games. The Covid vaccine clearly helps to prevent serious health problems if someone catches Covid while they are at the Games. Has the added benefit of reducing (but not totally preventing) transmission to the roommate, others in the dorm, etc.Well that makes perfect sense and I didn’t know that. They should bubble up if they’re that worried. Bubbles have worked to prevent cases. The vax mostly hasn’t with Omicron. But I’m sure Ranger will say they shouldn’t require the athletes to live in the athlete village apart from their families, etc. Or, if they get sick while there, it’s on them (the athlete)?
Um...dude...rocks and glass houses and all that on this one.Good info, even with your smug arrogance that is unbecoming of you usually.

One, WTF is a stoker? Did you misspell stroker? Are you 12? Eww ..stoker is with her friends seeing Styx and Reo
So Augusta National Golf Club should be allowed to exclude minorities and women...right?So private organizations are not free to have their own rules and standards, correct?
Exhibit D in the boot's case. Sorry that the truth hurts. Not sure why you are being such an absolute dick to one of the most level-headed and thoughtful posters around, but you used to be a better than this.Oh, hi hoosboot. Valuable as always.
Sure buddy. Maybe tell your pals that using “denying the science” as an argument - and intended to be a video game-esque finishing move - is something self-important assholes say. Or snipe.Exhibit D in the boot's case. Sorry that the truth hurts. Not sure why you are being such an absolute douche, but you used to be a better poster than this.
REO has some nostalgic delights. But mostly you’re right. One, WTF is a stoker? Did you misspell stroker? Are you 12? Eww ..
Also, the 80's are over, those bands sucks donkey balls.
Could be wrong but I don’t think there’s a law that says they can’t.So Augusta National Golf Club should be allowed to exclude minorities and women...right?
Just the Nazis. So Augusta National Golf Club should be allowed to exclude minorities and women...right?
Of course they should. Who would say differently? So Augusta National Golf Club should be allowed to exclude minorities and women...right?
Exhibit E. You know something or two about being a self-important asshole (I do as well), but when you have me and mcm agreeing on stuff you definitely should give yourself a pat on the back.Sure buddy. Having an amazing day, thanks. But I get triggered at virtue signaling and emotional driveling with banal phrases as (paraphrasing) “science denier” and “you used to be better.” But you do you, your aim is as steady and true as ever.Exhibit E. Once Cronin arrived, they started writing pop songs for 12 year old girls. Since I was never a 12 year old little girl, I just couldn't relate.REO has some nostalgic delights. But mostly you’re right.
Well, it’s 2022 and it’s never been a better time identify as a 12 year old little girl.Once Cronin arrived, they started writing pop songs for 12 year old girls. Since I was never a 12 year old little girl, I just couldn't relate.
Naw, I really don't want to listen to REO so I'll pass.Well, it’s 2022 and it’s never been a better time identify as a 12 year old little girl.
I can tell how amazing your day is by how stupidly triggered you got. But I get it...banal phrases like "virtue signaling" are similarly annoying to me. I just try not to lash out angrily when I can avoid it, especially to the nicer people around these parts.Having an amazing day, thanks. We have to give credit to COH, who I believe is the OG user of "stoker" around these parts.Stoker is his wife. He’s been calling her that as long as I can remember.
Right, I remember now.We have to give credit to COH, who I believe is the OG user of "stoker" around these parts.
Saint Louis..... Outdoor venue opportunities for large groups are limited. No one in her age bracket gives a shit who the band is. Alcohol. Outside. Something to do...Who gives a F about the band. It could be Alvin and the chipmunks. One, WTF is a stoker? Did you misspell stroker? Are you 12? Eww ..

It's not a vaccine. The adverse effects of this experimental poison are now into the millions worldwide. Older vaccines went through years of testing for efficacy and safety.I have no issues with mandates for public health and/or safety. Smoking bans on public buildings, vaccines required for kids to attend school, vaccines to fight a pandemic, seat belts required in cars etc.
I don't understand why people drew the line at covid vaccine as that was somehow different than the other laws and mandates
Well, my smoker auger is stuck again. So that stinks.I can tell how amazing your day is by how stupidly triggered you got. I'm just disappointed you didn't notice the big mistake in my original post. Keep enjoying your amazing day!
Unfortunately Alvin is the only original member of the band still touring, but they continue to do Dave proud and put on a great show crushing the yacht rock circuit. 😆Saint Louis..... Hahaha. Believe me they wish it was lady Gaga, or Lana Del Ray or Harry Pyles or whoever else they listen to but the band is the last determining factor on their night out. An Alvin solo show that fits their schedule is just fine. Now they are spending the night at the wineries for another 30th party. Or she got a boyfriend. Harry Pyles is an excellent name for that home wrecker.Hahaha.
