The world, supported by the media continue to trash Trump and his so called reversal of our policies to reduce co2 emissions. Guess what? He failed again. The US continues to lead the world in co2 reduction. OMG. And of course China and India continue to increase their emissions but of course they are allowed to increase their emissions for the near term under the agreement so all is good with them.

Here’s what I don’t get: the world is on the brink of a catastrophe yet China and India are allowed to continue growing emissions according to the agreement??? If this is so serious (and I believe it is) why isn’t China converting from Coal to natural gas? They certainly have the money to do so. If they don’t have the gas they can buy it from Russia or us.

On our end we would have dropped even more except for an increase in transportation related emissions. Why haven’t we mandated that our transportation industry convert to LP/NG solutions. That technology is readily available.

Oh, and by the way, the EU also increased last year but they are blaming on the cold Winter they had. SMH

There are those that talk and there are those that do.

I am very surprised there is no discussion on this post. It would appear that people really have no interest in it unless it is a path to further their political views, attacks on others, etc.

Overall, China and India are very poor countries. Both are growing but it is uneven. I am theorizing the slums from Slumdog Millionaire are still there.

That said, Chinese investment in green energy dwarfs ours, see https://www.google.com/amp/s/qz.com...enewable-energy-last-year-china-put-in-3/amp/.

That trend has been happening for several years.

This is always disregarded by the deniers. India and China are leading the world in their pursuit of green energy. India has done a fantastic job with solar. All the while the US has pulled out of the Paris deal and is pushing coal. We are going backwards and that’s the truth.

Plus Indonesia. Coal and oil are highly available in the country though easy oil access is on the downtrend unless it goes to the deepwater fields.

The counter-argument that developing nations make is that they can't afford but the cheapest energy source available to power up their respective growing economies. I can see their side of it too. (The US was a massive polluter when it was powering up its economy a century ago.)

But give China some credit in that it's making some decent progress and some green changes in its infrastructure spendings on power plants in the past few years. They are a developing country willing to make the necessary investment to curb the pollution problem both as an environmental but also for population health objectives.
