The "man on the street" Canadians I know all love to bitch about their health care system... but when it comes down to reality they love that it's there and are grateful for it and think our system is madness.

Both systems are madness.

People need to come to grips with the hard reality that there is not, never has been, and never will be a healthcare paradigm where all demand is met.

But it’s one of those issues where the imagined alternative to whatever way the goods and services are allocated is precisely that.

I’d argue that it’s this dissonance which is the actual cause of the angst.

I agree. I'm not on FB but will look at my wife's account. ABC News had the arrest story. Someone makes a comment supporting the shooter will get 5-6 times more up votes versus "mad" faces.

When a terrorist or rapist is killed I get the support for retribution. Just don't recall the murder of a white collar guy getting so much support or indifference.
