Looks like IU has offered Kaci Moreka, a 6'5" 300 lbs JC OT from Texas. Right now his other offers are N. Texas, TCU & Samford.
I've added 2 guys from California..Sterling Lane and Jackson Brown. Lane is a highly regarded WDE with a top 4 of ASU, Missouri, Michigan & IU. He's #18 in CA on Rivals, #90 on 247, so quite a difference there. Brown is an OT, NR on Rivals $ #115 in 247 in CA, with best offers of Colorado, Col. St., CAL, and IU. He says he's going to unofficially visit IU in June.
Visits everywhere start in June......things will be busy for all the schools the next 30 days.

Added TB James Jointer JR from Little Rock, who is an ARK verbal, but looking at IU, per Peegs. High 3* type guy.
Thanks for doing this topic as all of us can't keep up with all the recruiting but it is important to IUFB and keeping up is what we need on this board.
Last RB we got from the Little Rock area turned out to be alright: Stephen Houston.
Added 6'3" 290 lbs DT Jordan Phillips from Ocoee, FL. 247 says he will visit IU 6/22. IU is said to be in the top 5, but both 247 & Rivals say MI leads. Rivals has him as a 5.6 guy, unrated in FL, but 247 has him as #49 in FL. Has a very nice offer list.
A few tidbits--
--IU has offered OT Connor Wood, 6'5" 300 lbs, in the transfer portal, from Montana St. He's a highly regarded 2 yr starter, and had offers from IU & Missouri within 24 hours.....he'll probably have numerous D1 offers. Don't know his interest in IU.
--QB Hoover has IU in his top 4 and says he will unofficially visit in June.
--Carter Smith, the highly-regarded OH OT, will visit IU 6/14.

No...........I see that he lists offers from Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, OSU & Nebraska, among others.....but neither 247 nor Rivals shows us offering.
247 has him as the #9 prospect in Indiana, Rivals has him as a 5.6 guy, but not in the top 15.
On tape, he looks enormous. Has kind of a slow 'burst' off the ball, but has a bit of lateral quickness. He would appear to my uninformed eye to be a potential run stopper, so I'm interested in why we've not offered.

No I don’t. Just noticed his offers from other teams and was curious as to why we might not have offered.
I think that Rivals and other recruiting services will need to adapt some rankings in the near future to account for the reality of the transfer portal. It’s not going away.
Either:
1. Incorporate the transfer ratings into the overall ranking of the recruiting (include BOTH transfers and high school guys in the final ranking).
Or
2. Establish a high school ranking for recruits, as they do now, and then a separate ranking of the school for the transfers landed.
A school with “modest” high school recruiting would be valued higher if they also landed several 4 and 5 star transfers on their team with immediate eligibility. The reality of it is that theses transfers were graded high when they joined their initial school and, unless they were clearly a bust, would add value to the new team.
Either:

I've found it's best in the case of INDIANA Football to simply disregard the star and point rankings and take the long view of assessing a class by who is on the playing field (in the three deep rotation) 2 to 3 years down the line and how well the members of a particular class are playing as an overall part of the TEAM... Same thing applies to Transfers; adjusted for their respective eligibility, be it one year, two years, or more...
It's always seemed obvious to me that the fan subscription recruiting services purposely skew their ratings to please the majority of their paying customers... For example: if an early three star guy is ultimately recruited by say "the" ohio $tate, Michigan, or P$u they're very likely to gain their 4th star, or the equivalent...; you Never see that happen with us and have seen a 4 star or the equivalent actually dropped some... (to 3 star or the equivalent)... I find it very difficult to regard the assessments of the paid subscription services seriously when you see that sort of stuff go on...

Agree that consideration of transfers coming is important. As an example, I know that awhile back Purdue had a significant # of transfers (this was when IU only had a few), and a couple of them looked pretty good.
If nothing else, I'd like to see Rivals & 247 at least list the transfers in, and what schools they were transferred from, with the HS commits.
I pay more attention to what other schools recruited a given prospect than to their rating.
247 does list transfers in on the teams commit page.
They also have a high school grade and transfer grade for some players.
With so many players in the portal though, its almost impossible to give a grade to every single kid that transfers when they already have to grade high school kids as well.
The schools recruiting a particular recruit is the better method of evaluating exactly what you're getting.

we all know purdue's staff just goes to the recruiting sites and looks at who Auburn is recruiting....that's why they keep losing recruiting battles to Auburn. lol
Purdue has definitely come out ahead in the portal this year. Seems like iu probably has as well.
On paper, Indiana is getting more talented kids then Purdue in the portal. How that will translate on the field, in each teams system is yet to be seen.
Based on past performance and then if kids haven't played, rankings.
You brought in Witt, who is proven on the offensive line at Western Kentucky. Outside of him, nobody else has really shown anything sustained on the field for any amount of time.
Joseph Anderson could be good for you guys, but he hasn't shown anything yet on the field. The backer from Auburn could be good for you but hasn't shown it on the field and I think Lewis will be good for you, but he had to show it on the field as well.
We've brought in guys that have produced at the power 5 level.
We've brought in the better players, on paper. Like I said, how they turn out on the field in each teams respected systems is yet to be determined.

Ha, I was thinking nearly the exact same thing to myself. Thought the same when I saw the Big 10 network clip on Miller Kopp and his family that someone linked after he committed out of the transfer portal for the BB team.
Like everyone else, I'm anxious to see a commit or two. Hope we'll see that soon.
I did see that a very high-end DE recruit, Mario Eugenio, from Tampa, will visit 6/25.

Some additions to the IU visit schedule:
--Enyce Sledge, 6'3" 310 lbs DT, Monroe, LA,,,,#48 in LA on 247, NR on Rivals. Purdue, IU, SMU, Baylor favored. Nice that we can be in the favored 4 since we just got involved. Purdue's been recruiting him forever.
--James Jointer, the ARK TB commit, will still visit IU on 6/25. This looks like his only visit other than to Arkansas. Long-shot here, as he's from Little Rock.
--Micah Pollard, a highly-regarded OLB form FL, #78 on 247 in FL, #64 on Rivals, will visit 6/25. Michigan's been the big favorite here forever....IU now listed as co-favorite by 247.
Btw, so far no good as far as the 1st round of visits & the things I'm hearing as far as where they may be headed. That & zero commits. Long way to go & it doesn't necessarily mean squat in the big picture, but I'm in the mood for more good news & it ain't happening yet Hopefully things take a positive turn soon.
