Why The Democrats Lost/Why The Democrats Think They Lost

So who is in charge of the Democrat party at this stage of the game who can determine what went wrong and how to chart a new course?

Like a football team who just got shellacked and their coach had already been fired going into the fourth quarter.

No Wokees. No calif liberals. Has to just be someone normal with broad appeal. Look at the red blue map this election. That should tell the left how most of the country feels about them.

The only answer for the Dems should be Shapiro. Then pair him with someone else that is fairly moderate that checks some boxes (female, minority, etc). But make sure they are not an empty suit or too far left. Maybe Amy Klobuchar...

Biden wanted to be transformative. From free cheese to climate to border did way too much. Now trump with the mandate talk will do the same. The window of four years doesn’t always lend itself to things that might take longer than four years to see if they worked. I think that’s the case with much of what Musk is proposing.

For a politician smaller, incremental stuff seems more prudent.

Shapiro and others will emerge. Have to get away from the calif ny libs. Have to get away from the race identity politics imo. If you say “worker” you capture everyone

MM66, do know someone who meets these qualifications?

Moderates are hard to find in either party. They usually get erased in party primaries.

I mean it's gotta be Biden no? 81 million votes and sharp as a tack through the inauguration.

#1 Reason- Dems are lazy voters. 81 Million votes in 2020 without Biden campaigning. This election Dems have 12 Million less votes while Trump votes more or less remain the same.

Quite a few others but Dems voters stay home if there is a drizzle outside.....

Dems got screwed by not having a incumbent president gradually become unelectable.

Then without a primary or party convention (as in days of yore) they were left (no pun intended) with a candidate who in retrospect didn't get out the vote.

The entrenched left will fugg it up again. It goes deeper than that.

whether or not he'll actually do much of what he promised, promising to deport people he claimed are poisoning the blood of our country and saying he's going to go after the 'enemy within' (and naming specific Democratic leaders/legislators) is something a fascist would do.

But to a lot of peoples' points here, it's probably not likely that he'll be able to follow through. Maybe wannabe fascist is more apt.
Oh, you can bet your sweet ass hell do it. And he's named the Border Tsar who will do it.

Oh no! You mean name specific Democrats the same way Democrat politicians singled him out by name and said they were going after him? You didn't seem to mind that too much, did you?

Winning the election didn’t canonize Trump. A lot of Americans - and people all over the world - don’t fully get why so many people would vote for an objectively horrible person.
Example A

The GOP made it sound like we are in the middle of the worst economy in the history of our country. Worse than the great depression. People here said as much and probably believe it. Which is of course non sense.

The reality is the economy under Biden, when ALL factors are considered, isn't terrible. Not amazing. Just meh. The Dems propaganda machine should have gone equal but opposite on the economy bullshit. However they chose to lean into social issues and Trump is a Nazi.
You're probably too young to remember when Clinton lied about the Bush economy, calling it the worst economy in 50 years - when Carter's economy was just 12 years in the past.

Democrats don't mind lying about the economy when they're the ones not in office.

Example A
What does that mean? 'Example A' of what? Regardless of whether Trump won or lost the election, he still woke up on November 6 as the same horrible person he was the day before. Why even bother trying to whitewash that fact?

OK, let's have a show of hands. How many of you have been involved in shit killings, murders, rapes and/hangings?
Gotts be more than a few. Quit hiding from the truth. Lucydog7 KNOWS and will be informing your children.

My anecdotal opinion - based on some people here and others I know who voted for him - is that some 2024 Trump voters thought they were voting for a stronger economy and similar to his first term he'd never be able to deliver on his more outlandish promises (Mexico never paid of any wall).

Sadly, I think you're right. Crazy person Tom Homan is going to do everything he can to lead the biggest deportation operation the country has ever seen. I predict it'll be a total, messy shit show the country isn't totally ready for. Families will be seperated. Legal immigrants and residents will inadvertently be swept up into things. ICE/army reserves/feds going through neighborhoods demanding to see people's papers will be devastating on a humanitarian level. And the cost will be crazy, nevermind the hit the economy will take from removing 10-20 million people in a relatively short amount of time.

I don't think you need to worry about that. There will be no massive deportation.

You're probably right. I saw some Tom Homan clips and he's gone full anti-immigrant bravado and talks a big game, but in the end they'll probably make a show of doing relatively little on this issue.

I don't see it happening, but I could be wrong. I see more "business" (especially small business) driven leadership. Trump's never been hard Right, Talks a bunch of tough man talk but that is a negotiation stance. Now that is not to say that he doesn't have the balls to call the hard decisions, but he's proven already that every deal is a negotiation and EVERYONE needs to leave the table with some level of a win.
This is one (among many) that Dem's hated. Dems are slowly bleeding the country into North Korea level of control. Instead of shooting people in the head, they are skillfully using peoples minds (via free cheese) to shoot themselves and make sure that Dem's always appear to be god and their only way to survive.
WELL, we have 4 years to allow the herd to "thin the herd" themselves. The pendulum never stays to one side. I feel that in only a few days now since election day, people (left) are starting to report and understand that the Dem's have been following a playbook created by historically EVIL people, that have been proven totally wrong every time for centuries. And the left is starting to understand that they were being led like sheep. 2028 could be even worse after they have 4 years to understand how much and to what level that the left has been lied to, ACTUALLY in hitler style. The left puppet masters simply know that it can't be completed as fast as hitler did, so they are playing the long China game and exactly why we are seeing so many reports of Chinese infiltration into our officials beds. Many times, literally.
Their game is 40 yrs long, not 40 months long.

The part no one mentions is this: the removal system is already bursting over capacity. People are already being deported at the highest rate logistically possible. A massive deportation scheme would require the appointment of many new immigration judges, the opening of many new processing facilities, and probably the building of new transportation terminals such as bus depots or airstrips. Not to mention the cooperation of the countries we intend to ship all these people to.

I wonder if a bunch of guys are going to hurry and hold themselves out as immigration lawyers. I bet that stuff isn’t very hard. It’s likely pretty clear

OR, we could simply make an app for their $1000 iPhones. It tracks them automatically (just like it does us), they somehow wake up in South Sudan and await a trial date. Just keep watching the app, it'll tell ya when!
The good news for them, they have escaped their need to seek asylum. Win Win! !

Interesting question. And I’m not sure there’s an answer right now.

If I had to hazard a guess as to who is currently holding the biggest stick in the party, I’d say it’s still Obama. However, it took him a little bit to endorse Harris and, from his first public statement, it sure sounded like he wanted an open primary (I agreed, BTW).

The fact he said this and it didn’t happen might suggest that his influence has waned a bit.

Beyond him, there’s Clinton of course. And then there’s Newsom, Pelosi, Jeffries, and Schumer. Maybe Pritzker?

Who won or who lost will be apparent in four years. We will either be better off or worse. The country has made the choice. This country is great and shell remain so no matter who holds the office. I for one am a Reaganite #40 and was ashamed of both candidates. I am tired of the lies in politics and the media. An accountant told me my freshmen year in high school, that figures don't lie lyres do, let's see the figures in 2028.

@Joe_Hoopsier : new job opportunity. Do it right and we'll make a reality show out of it.

Re immigration, maybe the first thing they do is find all these actual criminals who were released into the country over the last dozen years, over a few administrations and deport them.

There are many ways to prioritize this and make being here illegally a crime again like our democratically elected representatives passed into law, or to spread out the cost of allowing millions to be here on asylum claims.

Okay, troll, give us five economic indicators and where they’ll be in two years so we can fact check you.
We are the envy of the world in productivity. Inflation has been going down since the Trump years, and the stock market is at an all-time high. for one.

Exactly my point. GOP propaganda better than Dems right now. Need guys like Clinton.
