We have a verdict -- Guilty on ALL counts

And you are at the head of the pack on the idiot train. He could never be president because he just runs on culture issues that divide not unite people. Now that he’s not running he’s backtracking on some of his most strident positions. Book banning as an example. Florida leads the nation in banning books. Not sure how a book about Roberto Clemente could be banned, but it was.
Desantis has been a great Governor and would have been a great President. You’re really dumb.

Donny is having a rough day

One of the biggest reasons I dislike him as much as I do...is the likelihood/inevitability that he went up to that ball after that shot, gave it a good foot wedge, chunked it in front of the green, chipped on, 2 putted while giving himself a 6 footer, wrote down 4 or 5 on the card, and forced his playing partner to putt out from from 4 feet...and actually took that guys money when he missed for a 6.

In a nutshell, that's how Trump operates and "wins" at everything in his life. There is no argument otherwise, he bullies, cheats, ridicules, and pressures until he gets some version of what he wants...or can spin and portray as being what he wanted.

The crappy thing about our situation...Biden wouldn't ever go on to the golf course, and he'd make up a story about being there and winning. They're both disqualifying, for me. There aren't degrees of shitty-ness for me. I don't care who wins at this point...they're both embarrassing and scary as hell.

I agree 100%.
so now trump has real bad problems imo. he should have taken a plea to something lesser. he has to win the election OR he better start being real nice to biden adn hope for a pardon in the dc case. he can't take a plea with a promise not to run in the dc case because that can't be a condition. and now he's a convicted felon so on the dc case he'll have federal sentencing and be totally f'd under the federal point system. he loses that case he WILL go to prison. he really screwed the pooch going to trial on this one

Indeed. But he's too hard-headed to listen to his attorneys - who I am certain suggested taking a deal for this very reason.

34 million over night in donations. What a haul!
Which he will inevitably illegally use at some point.

"I sent him some of my hard earned money for his campaign...and he used it to pay off a porn star...and he got in trouble for it...so I'm going to send him more of my hard earned money because I'm pissed he got in trouble. I'm sure he'll use it for his campaign this time."

Our country is phucked...from both sides.

Undefeated. I know the golden rule. He who wears sweatpants always wins
Years ago I received a speeding ticket. I had to go to mayor's court in a small village because I did not have a current proof of insurance card in the car. (You show up with proof of insurance and they waive the fine for that.)

I go there and the place is packed. Apparently they only hold mayor's court once a week. I also quickly see that anyone with an attorney is called ahead of everyone else. So, I approach the prosecutor, tell him I am an attorney and ask if people with attorney's are called first. He says "yes, who is your client?" I respond with "Me!" He busts out laughing and says "OK, I'll call you next."

I beat the failure to show proof of insurance charge (OK, they waived the fine), but paid the speeding ticket. So I am officially batting .500 for self representation. :)

He doesn’t deserve prison for this one. The documents and the election interference one yes. I mean I wouldn’t complain, but this isn’t the case.
Yes. He's an old man, a first-time offender (not really, but for purposes of sentencing), and these are non-violent crimes. He's not getting jail time, even if the DA asks for it.

And yes, the other cases are different. First, he won't enjoy first-timer status anymore. Second, and I haven't checked the federal sentencing guidelines lately, but there may be a presumption of incarceration for some of the federal crimes.

The Fulton County case is strong. The DC election subversion case is airtight. He's going down on that one, and the length of jury deliberations in that case will make deliberations in the Manhattan case seem long. The Florida documents case is probably also a lock, but Cannon is a wild card. Inexperienced and unpredictable. I think she's afraid to try it.

The thing about the documents case is that there would never would have been a prosecution if The Felon had cooperated from the beginning. Instead, and in typical Felon fashion, it was obfuscate, lie, delay, hide, etc. He ultimately ordered the security footage deleted, and there is other evidence of obstruction. Prosecutors and judges hate obstruction, often more than the underlying crime.

I love the name: mayor’s court

This thread belongs in the Cooler Hall of Fame. MTG in a bikini even made an appearance. (And, to be honest, she's not bad for someone 50 years old. Not in a gazillion years, but I can be objective in part.)
You’re old, correct? You’re telling me if you were single hanging out at a Tiki bar in Florida enjoying your second Miami Vice of the day (after going 4-0 in pickleball) you wouldn’t bang her? I’m calling bullshit. You’re getting that Noodle out and giving her your best 90 seconds. I’ve been to Purdue, Green would win the hot body contest.

Only Ohio and Louisiana have them. Here in Ohio, they often appoint a magistrate to preside rather than the actual mayor. At my old firm we had some senior associates who served as magistrates in mayor's courts for various villages and towns. One of those associates parlayed that gig into becoming county prosecutor for a fairly big county in Ohio.

Nope. It would be game over as soon as she opened her mouth.

And no, I'm not old. Older than her, but not old.

That is wild!

If you kill anyone while under the influence it becomes murder. Not everyone gets convicted(usually gets plead down). I worked with a guy that’s now in prison for similar circumstances convicted of Murder. He was drunk on a side by side involved in an accident with another side by side. The woman was a passenger in the other. So depending on state and court. Ted should’ve went to prison.
I agree he should have gone to prison, but no one is making a valid reason why. Zeke thinks it's manslaughter and Crazy and DANC think it's murder, and all for the same non-legal reason: Ted is a Democrat.

Her body is decent and she has a face to protect it.

MK has been all over this. Truly coming to the forefront as the most important voice in political media. Her legal discussions are unparalleled. Always brings in the heaviest of heavy hitters. Dershowitz, Mark Geragos, Arthur Aidala, Mark Eiglarsh. Of course Andy McCarthy. No better place for legal commentary.

I’m still waiting for you to tell us what it is… I said I didn’t know. I just thought manslaughter was no intent.

That’s why I was waiting for a lawyer to weigh in. I thought murder had to have intent , whereas manslaughter does not.
There are other ways to get to murder. Depends on Mass law at the time. For example, if DUI with a passenger is a felony with a max penalty of life, then any deaths as a result could be upgraded to murder. I doubt that was the case back then, though. DUI crimes weren't subject to very strict penalties at the time.

That is wild!
If I recall, you can request to have your case heard in the county Municipal Court (or maybe it's automatic if you plead not guilty?).

And I was wrong on how often they hold mayor's court. At least in Loveland (Cincy 'burb), it's once every three weeks.

Decent? Have you seen 50 year old women in the U.S.? She has a better body than 99% of them. Shit, she has a better body than 90% of 30 year olds. Everyone is fat.
Yes, her body is better than the bodies of most 50 year old women. I can't get past her face. It's not in the top percentage.
