Any word on where he's at right now ... in the portal as Iowa de-commit ... but visits? On principle I gotta like an Attucks/Indy big body rebounder. I can see lots of positive for him and us coming out of HS.

Looked solid at the state game. Even calmly shot his free throws then puked out on the floor a bit..Before he got behind the bench to throw up some more...
Came back in and played well..

I want him at IU. Even if it's a limited role throughout his career. I could see him ending up at Butler and being very solid.

I noted that. Tough kid, which matters. Some limitations, maybe good coaching could help with shooting?

I've watched him play a handful of times...summer school ball, AAU, and high school season...

Positives: Has a pretty high motor, rebounds well out of his own space, good hands and touch around the basket

Negatives: Not a very good shooter (not awful though), not a very good defender away from the basket, very emotional

The last negative I listed would give me quite a lot of pause with him, if I were DeVries. He isn't good enough to make up for the potential distractions I saw with his body language and attitude, at times. Its very possible in a college team setting, he and the coach would be able to harness the motor and emotion, and use it well. Just seems risky...

He's a guy I could definitely see ending up at a B10 type school down the road, via the portal...or blossoming at a High major school if that's where he ends up initially. But he'll need to get his emotions under control a little bit, and work on his game quite a bit.

Helpful perspective. Thanks. And agree that emotional (maturity?) component might not be something CDD wants to take on in this first season, understandably. Then again, the recruiting-the-state aspect is, I sense, a priority for CDD and quite a few good players in the greater metro indy area. All above my pay grade for sure. And no complaint with his approach now!

When I saw him play other than aau, which was in a small sample size, he played against Bidunga and he looked way over matched. Bidunga is athleticly freakish and Brisco is not, so I didn't have an opinion. If we're talking about roster spot 13 and developing a guy from Indiana, I'd be all for it. I'd rather hire Sherron Wilkerson for Calberts role and get Singleton.

Singleton is committed to Northwestern. I don’t see that changing. Collins and his staff were at multiple games and stayed on him hard. Showed him a lot of attention.
