Louisville PD has to be the most ham fisted bunch of incompetents in world. First Breonna Taylor, now arresting the #1 golfer in the world on his way to a major championship. The biggest dork in the world.

I would think the mayor and governor would be on the phone with these idiots telling them to escort Scottie back to the course asap.

Sounds like players were told they can pass through as usual to get the course (Scottie was in a marked courtesy car), and when Scottie did some cop “attached himself” to the vehicle and Scottie didn’t stop for 10-20 yards. Probably hard to notice what some cop did. Officer sustained minor injuries. I’d guess that’s why cops are mad. Apparently they didn’t know who they arrested — #1 player in world and Masters champ.

Absolutely crazy.

That police force has had so many struggles the last couple of years. Will be interesting to hear the facts come out.

Living near Louisville (right across the river) this doesn't surprise me at all. Pretty much ended any chance of hosting a PGA event in the future. Junior Bridgeman is one of the owners of the Valhalla, I bet he is just tickled this happened.

I'm sure Scottie had some fault in this, running late a bit of an ass but know your audience and understand what you are doing if you are that officer. I'm not a fan of the city so I think it is absolutely hilarious and hope it keeps all sporting events away including the NCAA basketball tournament.

Not as strong a unit as it was prior to Briana Taylor due to lack of support is what I hear. Sounds like this was Mayberry RFD only in Louisville Kentucky.

Steal Rickie Fowler’s look.
OK, Scheffler only wears the orange pants - with a black and white striped shirt. And this hat:

I’ll be interested to see the body cam if there is any. Seems crazy for a traffic flow misunderstanding.

Holy crap. Just saw the tail end of an interview with the lawyer he has hired. At least one of the charges is a felony.

We don't know what happened yet, all of it, but aren't we supposed to follow police instructions on the road? I don't get to choose to go around a police roadblock do I, especially if an officer standing there tells me not to?

Hopefully the police involved had some sort of video so we can see what happened. Until then, how does one "know" he is at fault or the police are at fault?

His statement makes it sound like he thought he was following police instructions, but maybe the cop who was attached to the car was giving different instructions from whatever he thought he was following.

Sad that somebody was killed earlier after getting hit by the bus.

He was a player in a marked car, and all the players go around the police blocks since they have to get to the course — sounds like standard op procedure.

That said, it is tbd until all the facts come out — video, statements, etc.

Just listened to Jeff Darlington who witnessed it. Sounded like some bizzare behavior by Scheffler. Asked to stop he drove for 10-20 yards. When asked to get out of the car, he sat there for around 30 seconds apparently until the cop reached his arm in and opened the door.

Morning stupor? Hadn’t had his coffee yet? Weird.

Sounds like a big misunderstanding.

In all seriousness, sounds like both the cop and Scottie were confused. I'm guessing all charges will be dropped and both sides will apologize. No harm no foul.
