Birdies the first hole. Watch him go out and shoot a 60.
It’s the greatest day in history on twitter
Louisville PD has to be the most ham fisted bunch of incompetents in world. First Breonna Taylor, now arresting the #1 golfer in the world on his way to a major championship. The biggest dork in the world.
He’s checking on The CapperMass chaos and idiocy.
Where’s MTIOTF?
He was also wearing a bright green jacket that covered up his uniform and had the hood up over his hat.Not sure. They said he “attached himself” to the car. Officer had minor injuries.
Current statements are that he was told to proceed until the officer - dressed in bright green safety jacket thus masking him as a police officer - started yelling at him to stop.We don't know what happened yet, all of it, but aren't we supposed to follow police instructions on the road? I don't get to choose to go around a police roadblock do I, especially if an officer standing there tells me not to?
Hopefully the police involved had some sort of video so we can see what happened. Until then, how does one "know" he is at fault or the police are at fault?
SS may have been in the wrong and ignored clear instructions.Just listened to Jeff Darlington who witnessed it. Sounded like some bizzare behavior by Scheffler. Asked to stop he drove for 10-20 yards. When asked to get out of the car, he sat there for around 30 seconds apparently until the cop reached his arm in and opened the door.
Morning stupor? Hadn’t had his coffee yet? Weird.
A rotund, hard ass is my bet.Police are working on their side of the story:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Police report: Detective hospitalized after being dragged by golfer Scottie Scheffler's vehicle at PGA Championship.
A man was killed. this idiot runs into a police officer at the accident scene. What an self-absorbed ahole.

Relax officer. I’m sure the worst that will happen is they suspend you with pay pending an investigation.A man was killed. this idiot runs into a police officer at the accident scene. What a self-absorbed ahole.
He should play his second round in that shirt
I've seen that exact scenario, years ago, after a Hoosiers game, from a guy who didn't want to listen to the cops regarding which way to turn. Cop tried to open the door, and held on to it while the driver kept driving. Looked extremely dangerous. My guess is there's no way you do that and not end up in jail.I would think the mayor and governor would be on the phone with these idiots telling them to escort Scottie back to the course asap.
Sounds like players were told they can pass through as usual to get the course (Scottie was in a marked courtesy car), and when Scottie did some cop “attached himself” to the vehicle and Scottie didn’t stop for 10-20 yards. Probably hard to notice what some cop did. Officer sustained minor injuries. I’d guess that’s why cops are mad. Apparently they didn’t know who they arrested — #1 player in world and Masters champ.
Absolutely crazy.
@IU_Hickory we’re going to start trying to educate you. You throw around two tiered justice system and you have no idea what you’re talking about. Strong, nuanced take. Post more!A man was killed. this idiot runs into a police officer at the accident scene. What a self-absorbed ahole.
Seriously, dude is already on the course? I'm guessing that poor dad I saw in Bloomington stayed locked up the entire weekend.@IU_Hickory we’re going to start trying to educate you. No one would be processed and released that fastSeriously, dude is already on the course? I'm guessing that poor dad I saw in Bloomington stayed locked up the entire weekend.
His pants were RUINED! Thank God they got this thug off the streets before he could hurt anyone else. Here is the police report. Seems a little short on how it went from the officer giving instructions to being dragged.
Because know they screwed upNo one would be processed and released that fast
Not sure this is an exact scenario. A fan not listening to the cops is a bit different from a pro golfer going to the tournament with a credential (it’s standard procedure to be allowed past roadblocks to get to the course).I've seen that exact scenario, years ago, after a Hoosiers game, from a guy who didn't want to listen to the cops regarding which way to turn. Normally police stopping cars for an event is for crowd control, this appears to be for a serious accident. It may be the police felt no one should get through because emergency crews were working, while the golfer thought it was a normal blockage. Not sure this is an exact scenario. I can’t say for sure Scottie wasn’t out of line to be fair. Maybe there was miscommunication. Maybe Scottie ignored him — though the charges seem extreme for that.
Also, it’s on the cop to some extent if they grab on to a car and hurt themselves. I highly doubt SS knowingly dragged this guy with his car.
People drive like aholes. Cutting across parking lots makes me apoplecticNormally police stopping cars for an event is for crowd control, this appears to be for a serious accident. I imagine traffic control is dangerous, it seems even with all the advertising and enhanced fines we still have construction workers killed, and police. Sections of 69 being built north of Martinsville had all the warnings that the speed limit is 45 for a work zone and speeders will be housed in a functioning septic tank, yet people kept driving 75.
Yea, looks like standard crowd control (50K+ fans into area with little infrastructure for that) plus a serious accident made the situation more complicated. Other players were walking nearly a mile to get to the course.Normally police stopping cars for an event is for crowd control, this appears to be for a serious accident. The man grows a good beard. My oldest son can grow a good one too. It's something I never could do because it looks too scraggly.
Scheffler birdied his first hole. He should have said, "this is for you officer". lol He should have stopped the car if the officer told him to. I tell my kids that you obey the cops and if the cops are wrong we will deal with it later. In all seriousness, sounds like both the cop and Scottie were confused. I'm guessing all charges will be dropped and both sides will apologize. No harm no foul.
