Scottie Schefler Arrested on the way to Valhalla this Morning

He was also wearing a bright green jacket that covered up his uniform and had the hood up over his hat.
This is all going away. And perhaps so might the PGA from Valhalla.
Current statements are that he was told to proceed until the officer - dressed in bright green safety jacket thus masking him as a police officer - started yelling at him to stop.
SS may have been in the wrong and ignored clear instructions.
Or maybe he was so accustomed to driving through the blocks he was just confused. He is one of the most mild mannered people out there.
Or maybe the cops were not clear. There were players who got stuck in the roadblocks and had to walk (see below). Makes it look like traffic control was a mess and the SS incident was a result.

A man was killed. this idiot runs into a police officer at the accident scene. What an self-absorbed ahole.
I hesitate to speculate but this seems like a big misunderstanding. The cops were harried and flustered trying to deal with the accident and SS was confused on what he was supposed to do and who was yelling at him. Things spiraled in the confusion.
That said, is it really necessary to literally throw him in jail? With a mug shot and everything?

Relax officer. I’m sure the worst that will happen is they suspend you with pay pending an investigation.
Can you imagine if he went out and shot a 61 in an Orange jump suit? Would be epic.

I've seen that exact scenario, years ago, after a Hoosiers game, from a guy who didn't want to listen to the cops regarding which way to turn. Cop tried to open the door, and held on to it while the driver kept driving. Looked extremely dangerous. My guess is there's no way you do that and not end up in jail.

There's a thin blue line between order and chaos, and the only way we preserve our way of life is through their valiant and unmatched sacrifices, including risking their lives to control traffic.
Not sure this is an exact scenario. A fan not listening to the cops is a bit different from a pro golfer going to the tournament with a credential (it’s standard procedure to be allowed past roadblocks to get to the course).
I can’t say for sure Scottie wasn’t out of line to be fair. Maybe there was miscommunication. Maybe Scottie ignored him — though the charges seem extreme for that.
Also, it’s on the cop to some extent if they grab on to a car and hurt themselves. I highly doubt SS knowingly dragged this guy with his car.
Normally police stopping cars for an event is for crowd control, this appears to be for a serious accident. It may be the police felt no one should get through because emergency crews were working, while the golfer thought it was a normal blockage.
I imagine traffic control is dangerous, it seems even with all the advertising and enhanced fines we still have construction workers killed, and police. Sections of 69 being built north of Martinsville had all the warnings that the speed limit is 45 for a work zone and speeders will be housed in a functioning septic tank, yet people kept driving 75.
People drive like aholes. Cutting across parking lots makes me apoplectic
Yea, looks like standard crowd control (50K+ fans into area with little infrastructure for that) plus a serious accident made the situation more complicated. Other players were walking nearly a mile to get to the course.

The man grows a good beard. My oldest son can grow a good one too. It's something I never could do because it looks too scraggly.
Scheffler birdied his first hole. He should have said, "this is for you officer". lol He should have stopped the car if the officer told him to. I tell my kids that you obey the cops and if the cops are wrong we will deal with it later.
For Stl this is our gold standard
