One conservative’s argument for a Harris vote

The number of prominent Republicans coming out against Trump is unprecedented. If you've read or listened to them it all boils down to Trump's unfitness for the office.
This is nothing more than the Republican elites who got their rear ends kicked by Obama and Trump wanting control back so they can keep losing.
Regardless of who wins, they should all retire to their rocking chairs and tapioca after the election. Due to their fecklessness, lack of understanding what’s critical to people and hubris, they should not be welcomed back into the good graces of conservatives. One way or another, they have contributed to the continued destruction of this country by the crazy progressives. When they are/were needed they have elected to aid and assist the further deterioration of the country. To think they can then just waltz back in as if nothing has happened is self delusion writ large. A pox on them.
They are the Bob Knight fans who abandoned IU when Knight went to Texas Tech.
I’ve never dumped IU. I did root for BK as long as he wasn’t playing IU.
I'm not a Republican elite. I've never been in politics. I take them at their words because I totally agree with them.
I was a Bob Knight fan. I definitely rooted for Texas Tech and loved watching them play, but I have never stopped being an IU fan.
Edit to add that I have a Texas Tech flag which I flew during the Bob Knight era when TT played and it didn't conflict with IU, but I haven't had a reason to fly it since Knight retired.
The Republicans coming out in the Media endorsing Harris are who I am speaking of. They can go to hell and join the socialists they’re endorsing.
You can have your opinion on that of course, but they basically all say the same thing that I do, which is that Trump is unfit for the office of President. I firmly believe this. I've never believed it about any other candidate for President and I really disliked Bill and Hillary Clinton and didn't care for Obama either, and I'm no fan of Harris by any means. I just didn't believe they were/are entirely unfit, and I honestly believe Trump is the most unfit candidate we've had in my lifetime. Y'all can disagree with this, but I and hundreds (thousands, maybe millions) of other long-time Republicans have the same opinion. This is an unprecedented thing. There is only one constant in the equation and that is Trump.
You aren’t endorsing Harris. You are writing in your vote for another person. I hate you’re doing it but respect it. Any republican endorsing Harris can go to hell.
I live in GA. My vote counts. I detest Harris but will vote for her to help prevent Trump from being elected. If that puts this Republican in hell then I’ll enjoy the ride

I'm not endorsing her, but my position is that I hope Trump loses so that means Harris would win. Pretty much all of them say they're not endorsing her policies, but in order to keep Trump from office it's necessary to vote for Harris. I don't have that problem in Ohio. Trump is going to win, with or without my vote.

I have a kid who will be driving this term. Only a fool would support defund bail projects and the rest of the vapid stupidity of progressives and harris

I doubt it will translate into many votes.
A lot of prominent Republicans supported Biden in 2020. He got 6% of the Republican vote.
Trump got virtually no prominent Democratic endorsements. He got 5% of the Democratic vote.
Kamala Harris really offers almost nothing in terms of policy priorities for disaffected Republicans. And that’s fine, BTW. I wouldn’t expect her to. Republicans aren’t the ones who put her there.
But, judging by the 2020 exit polls, there really aren’t a great deal of anti-Trump Republicans out there up for grabs. I’m not voting for Trump, but she’s no more appealing to me than he is.
The key Party ID demographic, for both candidates, is independents — along with getting their respective bases out to vote.

Biden got ~3.4m votes from Republicans in 2020.
Trump got ~2.9m votes from Democrats.

I’ve told you before and I’ll type it again that I will never apologize for practicing medicine in a small town where med professionals are desperately needed. One doesn’t have to live in St Louis to earn the right to discern and make a decision one feels is in the best interest of the country. Is a Trump presidency better for me individually and my wallet? Hell yes. But I still have a hint of idealism that thinks we as a country can be better than this and after 4 years of Kamala and a Republican congress of nothing getting done that we can return to some semblance of sanity. We residents of small communities have no idea what you all deal with in big blue cities.
Closest thing we have here is a large Mennonite community. Great people and they have a large school here and we get a lot of part timers from Ohio and Indiana that attend their school
