One conservative’s argument for a Harris vote

Seems to be a lot of herding in polls... Not many firms posting many outliers which makes me think they are all full of shit.
This is a really good point. A healthy polling environment will have a number of outliers. Most if not all of whom will turn out to be wrong. But their existence is expected in an environment that has relatively accurate, objective polls overall.

Bingo. I think it’s all a “Con the Don” operation. I also don’t think Plouffe has Harris running around with a bunch of Republicans to try and desperately eck out a victory. I think they’re going for a big win.

I could also be delusional. 🤔

My vote is on delusional, but here's hoping you are more right about that than "eck out a victory". 🤣

A conservative’s case for a write-in vote:

A Republican who backs Kemp because Kemp resists Trump?

News flash. Resisting Trump no more defines a Republican than supporting Trump define a Republican. . Anybody who defines their politics in terms of liking or not liking Trump got nuthin’.

Politics, especially Republican politics, is about ideas, and policy, and turning both into action.

Trump has ideas about how the country should be. . Let’s focus on those.

I’m sick and tired of those who claim to be Republican because blah, blah, blah Trump!

I happen to really like Brad Kemp, and it has nothing to do with his relationship with Trump. He’s probably my second favorite current governor, behind Youngkin.

And one of the things that first impressed me about him was the spine he showed during the left’s epic meltdown over Georgia’s election bill — which was a good bill that was so incredibly distorted and miscast that MLB refused to have the All-Star Game there. He even had Coca-Cola running for the hills on it. Biden called it “Jim Eagle.” Kemp didn’t bat an eye.

It all had to do with the Shelby Co. decision re: the Voting Rights Act and pre-clearance. By the reaction to it, you’d think they were bringing back poll taxes and literacy tests. But the bill was fine, and Kemp impressively stood his ground.

At the end of the day, this is the primary reason why I’m not voting for him. I can deal with how he is - obviously, I’ve voted for him before.

But I think his actions after the last election were utterly craven and egregious. They also have a lot to do with my vote. He crossed lines that should never be crossed. And I can’t just ignore that.

It has little to do with the charges brought against him - some of which are total bullshit and blatantly politically motivated. If anything, that stuff just puts me more against his enemies — as I put that more in a league with what he did after the 2020 election. Trying to bankrupt him with garbage about valuations that nobody else would get charged with? That’s as indefensible as anything he did.

But, then, I also think he should’ve just sent the documents back and he egged on that situation on his own. That may have been blown out of proportion, but it was on him not the DOJ. It didn’t need to happen. NARA tried to work with him, and he acted like an entitled, childish asshole.

Through it all, though, it’s still the policies that most turn me off. But the headaches that come with him certainly add to it.

I’m past ready to move on from him. It’s a helluva shame the Democrats are the way they are. So I can’t vote for them, either. Unfortunately one of them has to win. But they won’t be doing it with my vote.

How does that impact any voter? How does that impact policy? Get a brain
I'm far from somebody who gives Donald Trump any latitude. If he deserves criticism, I'll give it to him. If he deserves latitude, I'll give that to him. I'm not in either of the camps that are dug in about him.

But the felonies he was convicted of were total bullshit. No serious person should base their vote on those. Had it been anybody else, those charges wouldn't have even been considered, much less prosecuted.

I like Brad Kemp too. But unlike the author of the link, what Kemp says or believes about Trump has nothing to do with it.

Policies? Yeah his 2020 post election conduct was inexcusable. But as far as I am concerned, that whole thing really shows how strong our system is unlike the Democrats who believe we were on the brink of Hitler or something.

Policies? That’s a no brainer for me. Trumps positions win on every major issue.

Trump wanted him to do something illegal. Kemp refused. Trump is the problem here.

It’s Brian Kemp. Need to get it right for the write in vote.
