Hmmm...
Only two:
1. Orange is better than lemon. Besides using orange peel in the wine, I was also taught that it was proper to serve with a slice of fresh orange and the drinker should squeeze the juice into the mug just before drinking.
2. Always use whole spices. Ground or powdered spices will make the drink gritty. An easy way to do this is to wrap them all in cheesecloth tied up with a string, much like a giant tea bag.
Sounds good, though. Maybe I'll pick up some cheap red and do the same tonight...
