Kamala Harris booked exclusive interview with Brett Baier on Fox

Trump is more radical left when it comes to Tariffs. Even Woodrow Wilson would be like "dude slow down". Certainly not the party of Reagan anymore that's for sure.
Ironically enough, back in the latter 19th and early 20th century, the Republicans tended to be the more protectionist of the two parties. The infamous Messrs. Hawley and Smoot were both Republicans.

So, in some sense, they've returned to their roots.

Republicans broadly agree that illegal immigration is undermining American labor. That scapegoat is papering over some real schisms in the party wrt to trade policy.

There are those that take a more nuanced view like Vivek that we need to re-shore, near shore or form new trade partnerships with vital industries like prescription drugs and defense. That tariffs should be used as a point of leverage. Especially wrt to China.

There are other more absolutists like Trump (even Vance sounds this way unfortunately) who believe manufacturing any and everything in the U.S. for higher prices is an absolute good. That well paying, low skill jobs should be the goal in and of itself.

The absolutist view is stupid and hopefully gets tempered greatly should Trump win.

I have a lot of agreement with this. But I’m even wary of using the threat of tariffs as leverage. That said, I also realize that the world runs on leverage and we do have to use what leverage we do have.

5 years of no inflation will not get the Big Mac meal back under $10.00.

If you are paying $10 for a Big Mac Meal then I'd guess you are either in an airport or in Manhattan.

$9.19 today, in one of the most expensive areas in Florida (Jupiter). I haven't bought a Big Mac in a decade (I'm no roly poly McMurt type) but I had to verify the claim and I picked up a Filet O Fish for my trouble. Kind of meh.

You saved the 200 calories and went with the healthy choice, eh?

Thanks for your service and sacrifice.

No fries with my FoF, so I saved more than that. But the bun is still too sweet. Like Wonder bread. And the amount of tartar sauce is a bit much.

I think i'll skip another 10 years before going back

The 200 calories is just the difference between the sandwiches. 210 actually, according to their website.

Not a fan of Mickey D's, but when the soft drinks were $1 for any size I'd stop and get an unsweetened ice tea for a buck. Had to go in though and steal it by ordering a large coke and filling it with tea instead.

You went out of your way to drive to McDonalds and take a picture and post it here to disprove Marv’s point about a BigMac Meal costing $10?

You could have gone on Google and found the info in 5 seconds.

Add in sales tax, and yeah, $10 is the closest whole number. Good job, Marv.

He said it would "never be under $10".

Never came instantly. In fact, never was never not here.

I keep hearing this war on fossil fuels yet we are producing more today than ever. Saudi Arabia decided that oil should cost $100 and based their production on that price point. They just abandoned it and will increase production in December.

This is good because it completely screws Russia which needs high oil to fund the war.

So when we look at the cost of oil, even if we produced more oil, OPEC+ would have reduced production even more to keep it at $100.
Marvin, we are producing more because Trump began the process to energy independence and we achieved it. We are still living off that process. You don't turn it on and off with a switch.

In a few years, after the number of drilling rights have been limited for a number of years, we'll pay the price for that.

You can't deny energy prices went up immediately after Biden took office. There's a reason for that, and it was Biden's signal that we were going to regulate fossil fuels out of existence.

I agree. Call his bluff and get out of that crap including NATO.

He's bribing our inept leaders that if they don't let him in NATO they will be a nuclear nation. Then again, the MIC probably wants that to happen anyway. Especially, since they more than likely had a hand in the coup from 2014/15. Being forced to send troops to fight a regional war just because they are NATO country with a corrupt leader is BS.

Stuff has been going on in Ukraine for like a 1000+ years. Crimea population is 70% Russian. The Crimean Taters were like Native americans. They were 80% of the population until late 1800's then early half of 1900's phased out of the region. Why does US care about whether that land is Russian or Ukraine or another country name Crimea?
We care because we remember what happened when we allowed a dictator in the 1930s to annex land without a fight.

I'd rather support Ukraine against Russian than having to fight Russia directly when they attack a NATO country, which they claim is theirs.

Because he's a journalist, not an entertainer?
He's not in demand because he's just not that good at it.

A good journalist will be in demand on all the news shows. Networks avoid him like the plague.

He had a niche at Fox. For Fox, he was generally middle of the road and was a lot like Baier, imo (I know others disagree). He could be as tough on conservatives as he was leftists, and he was generally respected for that.

But the last few years, he went off the reservation. He'd grill conservatives - not just Trump -endlessly and badger the shit out of them. At the same time, he became fluffy when interviewing liberals.

I don't know why he changed, but he did. And now the liberal networks don't trust him because he worked for Fox and he's become irrelevant.

Oh good Lord, Marv. When Biden became President, the vaccine - which he claimed would stop the virus - was here and people were going back to work.

There was zero chance the economy would fall into recession, much less a depression.
I do not know if you noticed, much of the world fell into recession

So you thought it far more likely Saddam would attack NY than us fall into recession? Seriously?

Parlayed it into the main role of CNN's failed streaming service that left a stink on him. He's the older, less attractive, male version of Megan Kelly.

Somebody forgot to flush. Smells like McMurt in here
