I like Indiana kids as much as the next guy and want to get the best ones. But, Furst and TKR are overrated. They are decent, but nothing special. If they are the best players PU is trotting out, fine by me.
Malik couldn’t stay on the court. He was always in foul trouble.
Definitely an issue that he improved upon late in the season.
Both appear to be rotation guys that can give good minutes each game. You need those guys 7-9. Outside of Edey, that is really all they have. You can win that way, but somebody has to step up and excel every single game.
I guess your one of the few who likes indiana not having any good bench players Leal is not any good move on.
If he's not contributing and has no possibility of contributing the coach will let him know and Leal can move on. Every team has more players than can get into a game but players at the end of the bench also contribute in practices and in team chemistry. Coach and Leal will determine what is best for Leal.
You don't need to keep dissing our players as if the players or coach care what you think.
With the introduction of NIL, it’s a business. An Woody needs to win and players need to play.
IU didn't rebound because they NEVER box anyone out. The coaches clearly didn't demand players box out. Nobody ever did, and nobody ever got pulled for not boxing out.
IU had really no bench this year to work with. If CMW benches a player for punishment purposes, who plays? Was the bench players a better player? Until CMW get a full roster with his players, he wasn't able to bench players the way you wanted him to.
Frankly, with Woody’s extensive NBA experience IU should have a leg up on the other B1G teams. Also, IU jumped on NIL early and can offer good payouts to top players. What hurts IU, though, is the B1G style of play, which won’t be as attractive to potential recruits or transfers who want to be in a conference that plays a more athletic/uptempo brand.
Your argument is that he couldn't discipline his players with playing time because we didn't have the bench players to allow it? That's absolutely ridiculous, imo. Losers mentality.
A coach must demand some things on the court and back those demands up with playing time. The great coaches always have their guys doing the right things...boxing out, getting back in transition, playing with effort, etc. I'm pretty sure Coach Knight never didn't pull a player because "he had no one else that could compete" on the bench.
I guess we can find excuses for anything if we try hard enough.
Absolutely not, Knight had a full roster/bench to work with can you say the same for CMW? I was in no way making any excuses. It was clear to see for most people, having a short bench limited CMW options in all sitations. It's the main reason so few players played this year in most games. We can agree to disagree.

Dude we need help big time unless you only want to win 15 games.
Some truth to that but not near that simple. I feel the biggest reason is longer shots produce more long rebounds that bounce over the heads of good blockouts. These are most often claimed by quick 6'6" players which we were woefully short of.

A forward that never rebounded,shot inconsistently to be a 'proven" shooter and could not play any defense against a fast opponent. Guy was a major disappointment. One good game against Syracuse and IU lost that one in his career at IU. Yeah he wasn't the player or a player that got IU to NCAA tourney.
We did not really do a whole lot to get Kopp shots honestly. We just had him stand around outside and wait to TJD to either make a move or possbily pass him the ball.

Geronimo doesn’t have a drivers license. He’s taking driving training now. I realize that has zero to do with any part of this discussion, but I felt like adding it.
