IU Targets in the Portal Discussion Thread (UPDATED 4/25)

The crazy thing is that it wouldn't shock me if he is a really solid college player as some point. He was very young coming in and then the injuries and sicknesses hurt too. He seems like a Jack Nunge type who really help win games as an upper classmen.
To be fair, Nunge played solid minutes his Freshman and Sophomore years.

I think you'll be surprised at some point. Remember that Nunge is in his 5th or 6th year. Duncomb has potential. I just don't know if it will be at IU or somewhere else.
I was told by guys I trust. That know basketball who saw him as a senior at Southport..
He's a project were their thoughts.
He's still in that mode...
Indiana needs impact guys next yr..Like 16 / 7 guy's..Probably two bigs ..And two athletic wings..
If not..Rough yr ahead for fans and CMW..imo

The few times he played he showed good footwork and a nice touch in the post.

You’re talking about Duncomb? He went to Moeller in Cincinnati, not Southport.

I really do not understand why some people think because at the moment there appears to be playing time that Logan is going to get that playing time. Based on what? If he was that good he would already have been playing. They are going to go out and find beter talent plain and simple.
Logan is only 19 yo. He has not developed his body yet. Plus he may get a medical red shirt.

Honor your commitments.

So much talk about who is going to leave for various reasons. Kansas has lost 3 players already. IUs season has only been over for 3.5 days, are we surprised that we haven't heard yet from any of our question marks?

Could be a sign that we're not going to lose many players to the portal. I hope that's true.

Ok, now things are cooking. In some ways, getting knocked out this early helped get things focused for us.

I will update the original post with the current lineup.

He is not eligible for a medical redshirt. He dressed, was on the bench, and was eligible to play in well more than 30% of the games, this season. It doesn't matter that he very rarely got on the court, but that he could have played.

Why would it be deductible? It's not a charitable contribution. It's a serious question because I don't know how it would be deductible and maybe you do.
IU (Glass) broke ground on this topic when H4G was established as a charitable foundation so donations are deductible. Although there may be limits.

I don’t know if PU followed suit and modeled after IU but I would like to know if they did after a couple of the PI folks referred to our program as “low brow”

IU didn't rebound for sheyot because of how many times players had to leave their assignment to help out... this was especially true vs. Miami.
I’m sure that happened. But just watch the guys. Rarely bodying up and blocking out. So many times just standing there in whatever position they find themselves in. Hope the ball bounces their way. Miami had inside position on our bigs all night.

Their collective is an identical copy of H4G.

This is true too.

Jayden Taylor from Butler entered the portal yesterday. Perry Meridian grad was Butler's leading scorer this year. Not great but adequate 3 point shooter on a good number of attempts. Would fill the need as on off-ball scoring guard if Bates were to transfer.
Adequate will not get it.

Right, I just don't think we need a transfer at guard. We also have Gunn who will need more pt. Much better for future recruiting to develop what we have already.
Look at the Miami guards, Penn State, Rutgers last year. Tough minded, strong and determined to put the ball in the basket and hell bent on stealing the ball from you and scoring on the other end.

We need some junk yard dogs that will find a way to put the ball in the basket. The guards that beat us are the guards we need. Many of these players are playing in the Sweet 16.

Here is a portal name nobody has heard of. Isaiah Swope. He is too small, not highly ranked, but would score 20 against us.

The plan is to still try and apply for a redshirt for this season. He didn't play after the sinus surgery. Very similar to what X is trying to do.

Furst's per 40 min conference numbers are stagnant. I thought he was a good pickup at the time. But now I am now not so sure.
I agree. There was so much debate on who was better between Furst and Duncomb and both are very average.

Wonder if Furst would be better playing without Edey? He’s pretty strong around the basket. Up and down shooter. Decent rebounder. There’s just not a lot of extra room around the rim with Edey parked under there 80 percent of the time.

He would definitely be better without Edey, but Purdue would be worse overall. Duncomb would be better without the guys in front of him, but IU would be worse overall. Imo.

Probably. Was mainly thinking Furst could be a pretty good big in a more open, spread our offense. I don’t think Purdues style gets the most out of him.

I still think Logan will be good too. If he ends up somewhere that is more his speed and style.
